(A visual novel is, generally speaking, a piece of software that's mostly dialogue cutscenes. Some of them have branching or puzzles in them, but some are just a linear sequence of events without any interactivity.)

2022-11-13 15:45:14 +0000 UTCHearing Homestuck described as a visual novel seems off to me, but I suppose when you look back at it as a completed work, it might as well be one.... it was very much a webcomic when it was coming out.
