Since I had decided not to use the other image, I wanted to try again. This picture is closer to what I wanted, but I made some mistakes on it and don't want to use it either. I had Toriel's expression be similar to the first drawing because I liked it so much but... I don't feel this picture works very well, overall. Her proportions are a bit off still, and while I like the colouring on this better it's still not what I wanted overall.
It also doesn't help that this picture was done on the wrong type of paper- I had a piece of bristol tucked into my watercolour pad and ended up only realizing my mistake when I tried to apply watercolour to it. Bristol is great for markers or ink work, but terrible for watercolour, fyi. The benefit of watercolour paper is that it absorbs water. Bristol does not- the water just floats around on the top and it takes a long time to dry, often warping the paper in the meanwhile. While this allowed some nice colour 'blooms' in this image, it also made other parts of the picture really muddy- especially around the face. I lightly touched it up digitally, but it's still pretty muddy.
I used pebeo gum for the flowers, though, and I'm glad they came out amazingly well. I'll probably use them again for the next iteration of this.
