New Mill Crafter Modules - Cheese and Pasta
Added 2023-04-22 19:46:57 +0000 UTCI have been meaning to make a proper crafter module for -
- Pasta and Noodles Making
- Cheese Making
I have been making bits and pieces over the years but nothing consolidated.
1. What are your thoughts on this ?
2. Do you want this as a part of the functional mill with add on appliances ( like the dairy churn) or do you want it to be a completely different system ?
3. Any special processes and ingredients involved in the crafting ?
4. Do any of you make this in real life ?

Oh yes you will definitely be able to have a cheese selling buisness ( plopsy + retail shops)

2023-05-05 07:41:00 +0000 UTCI am thinking of doing a simplified cheesemaking process - 1. Coagulation of milk with acid/mushroom etc on stove --> 2. stiring, curing etc in a cheesemaker ---> 3. ageing/ripening cheese in a shelf. or I can do both step 1. and 2. in a cheesemaker press like appliance. Will also add flavourings in the cheesemaker press.

2023-04-29 13:32:36 +0000 UTCId love the pasta maker because I could add this to my Italian restaurant. Id also make a fondue restaurant if you did the cheese one.

2023-04-25 01:32:47 +0000 UTCI think cheese making would be cool in the game. I can't really see pasta making as being a thing I'd do with my Sims....but others might like it. The cheese making idea is cool. especially if it could be integrated into the buying system and selling system in the game.

2023-04-23 21:39:17 +0000 UTCI only cook in the game lol, but I think a sort of Kitchenaid type appliance with add-ons (like the attachments you can get for mixers maybe?) would save space.

2023-04-23 20:27:22 +0000 UTCI love the idea of a pasta noodle making appliance! As to cheese, will there be harvestable add-ons for different kinds of cheese? For example, some kind of spicy pepper for Pepper Jack cheese? Not necessary at all, but I just love having farmer sims with all the cc harvestables and gadgets really living the simple life my disability won't let me live.

2023-04-23 16:33:43 +0000 UTCA pasta maker would be amazing, but in my case, I have a crap load of custom appliances, and more will really use up a lot of space. I use the mill often, so I think it would be nice to be able to make the pasta and cheese via the mill, but also have the possibility of having the separate appliances as well.

2023-04-23 16:14:49 +0000 UTCFantastic idea!! I vote for pasta being able to be made in the mill, with optional addon like the milk churner to have it separate for specialty gameplay shops or farms. So you have the option to save space, and the option to make realistic pasta, whichever you choose. Same for the cheese, but that should be on a separate addon appliance since cheese has so many ways it can be made! I love semi/soft cheeses, like Queso de Tetilla and mozzarella. But Manchego cheese is also amazing and we have lots where I'm from. Other classics like blue cheese and cheddar also have different crafting methods, so I'm not sure what a "cheese maker" would look like π€ I think Curing is an important part of the whole cheese process, if only to differentiate hard and soft cheeses. Also salt, special mold (mushrooms?) for blue cheese, flavorings (like herbs), and wax could be used as ingredients. For pasta, I know you can add some vegetables and herbs to make colored and flavored pasta! Also some gluten free options give it nice unique colors, like red lentils make it orange, corn makes it very yellow, and spinach makes it green. I hope this was somewhat helpful π can't wait to see what you make!

2023-04-23 11:09:03 +0000 UTCProbably, you'll need a pasta maker (the one that you roll your dough into thin Sheet and can cut that sheet into pasta. I would love to have this in my game (Actually, I download almost all of your mod and I only use like 1/8 ingame so far since there's a lot of content you created. Hands down)

2023-04-23 04:51:50 +0000 UTCGood idea!! I like to make pasta at home with my manual pasta maker and I have always wanted to make cheeses and noodles.

2023-04-23 01:31:53 +0000 UTCYes, you can use the dairy churn to start it and then make a curing shelf to age the cheese.

2023-04-22 23:56:48 +0000 UTCI would love this! My sims always have the simple living trait so to add more would help with those recipes that already require it

2023-04-22 21:59:59 +0000 UTCWhile I love the mill, I don't know how the mill makes cheese or noodles, however, growing up, I would go to my grandma's with ALL my cousins, I'm from a big family so there's a lot, and all my siblings and make homemade noodles, and we would use a special grinder. You add the dough, turn the crank and it cuts noodles. For the ease of access and saving space in my sims' homes, I would prefer to add it to the mill. I am genuinely running out of space with all the appliances from you and all the other food makers I'm subscribed to. I can just pretend the mill makes sense.

2023-04-22 21:15:56 +0000 UTCI love this! I'm a historical player so this is right up my alley. IRL I live on a hobby farm and try to grow/make/raise/hunt our food. I've never made cheese at home. Wish I had enough space for dairy cows.

2023-04-22 20:40:55 +0000 UTCYeah I was thinking something like my countertop patty maker or plant milk maker

2023-04-22 20:10:23 +0000 UTCI love this (as you may knowπ€)!!! Avid gardener and cook in real life and in my Sims...needs to use fresh ingredients that I grow . Doesn't really matter if it's part of functional mill but a think a noodle maker for the counter would be awesome!! Keep the mods coming, enjoy everything you do!!

2023-04-22 20:09:14 +0000 UTCI'm all for it. Added as an add on would be my preference (like the dairy churn). You bring so much immersion to the game. Personally, I don't make it, but my Sim will. I love your mods for my off the grid/simple living Sim. I prefer my Sim to be self-sustaining.
