Mod Policy Update
Added 2022-08-01 08:25:30 +0000 UTCI have read it and to me it seems that permawalled stuff is not allowed. So I will be continueing with early access for the time being. Though my early access is mostly beta access as I end up updating a lot of mods after getting feedback from you guys during the early access period!
I will wait for direct communication from EA regarding this and see how they implement their policy.
I want to thank you guys so much for supporting me! I have been modding since 2014. My time was my own and I did whatever wanted to do. I started patreon in 2020 after 6 years because suddenly I found out that my time was really not my own after the birth of my kid and whenever I worked on a mod or an update I felt immensly guilty. So in a last ditch effort to continue making cc I opened a patreon.
I love making mods...absolutely love it! And you guys with your support have made it possible to continue with this. Your valuable feedback and your ideas have been of immense help. Thank you!
Edit: I talked to EA live chat about early access and they said that there is no official announcement related to this.

Fingers crossed EA comes out and clarifies that early access will still be allowed because itβs unfair for those who followed the rules to be punished due to the greed, doxxing and all round toxic behaviour of permapaywallers π‘ itβs not nice to see amazing early access CC creators be potentially put into a precarious situation over this. When I asked they told me that there is no official announcement ( I have uploaded the pic here). I have seen atleast 5 different answers π . I am waiting on direct communications/emails from EA/simgurus. Thank you β₯οΈ

2022-08-01 22:59:29 +0000 UTCFYI, it looks like they've further clarified that Early Access will be prohibited as well (which, from a crackdown perspective makes total sense; it prevents people from playing fast and loose with the policy and EA don't have to constantly monitor how long things have been out.) Sims Community has an article on it including chats with EA support confirming Early Access is no longer permitted. I will continue to support you as I appreciate the content you bring to my game! :)

Until Sim Gurus actually confirm it one way or another, I think Early Access is still fine. I think it should be fine anyway. It's one of the only ways Modders make money for all their hard work. Anyways, you're awesome and I <3 your mods, so I'll stay subscribed no matter what anyway.

I love how you include us. I am also making a petition asking EA to reconcider their stance on this matter because it is important for us players to keep our best modders giving us their best.

I haven't seen the changes everyone is talking about but when I read the ToC a few years ago(i was learning about contract law in class and started reading a lot of contracts), EA specifically stated that all custom and modded creations must be free to access within 21 days. If a player/creator violates the ToC, which permawalled content do, EA has the right to terminate the contract. They haven't been because modders have been the spice of Sims for decades, but if these "new changes" include an intent to end contracts with violators, EA would be well within their right to ban that users IP or block their Origin account.

2022-08-01 13:01:56 +0000 UTCI just want to add that the policy EA has always had about 'selling' mods and CC hasn't changed. It's also a very generous policy that allowed for no more than 2-3 weeks of early access but permapaywalling has always been against that policy.

They've doxxed people, they've threatened people, they've contacted their jobs and families, harassing them. This was well past due. People like IceMunMun are not the problem and 99% of the modders like them will be left alone.

There are several who have been extremely toxic to the community and you can guarantee they're being reported en masse. Regardless, I'm not going to stop supporting the creators I already support (barring financial issues, of course).
