Bridgerton/Regency Era food and drink

I just finished watching Bridgerton Season 2 and I am kinda obsessed. @Kay suggested that I do some Bridgerton themed stuff!

So what would a Regency sim eat or drink ? What would be the menu of afternoon teas after a hard morning of promenade ? What about the dinner menu in a lavish debutante ball ?

LOVE LOVE LOVE! cannot wait! watching season 1 myself ! <3 imagine the table filled with decadent food (that they barely eat...shame! ) a huge turkey surrounded by fruit etc

For any people who are confused the spreadsheet Ano was a part of is a sheet creators use to leak info on their subs. A lot of cc creators put trackers in their cc without your knowledge and this was used to essentially black list people and share their info without consent. Some cc creators went as far as doxxing users finding their family or calling their job over some pixels and the fact Anto was part of that spreadsheet is disgusting. Anto knew this sheet was real and did not speak up when people got doxxed bu others who were a part of this list. Do better! if you need more info go to https://www.reddit.com/r/thesims/comments/u4fteb/if_you_are_a_patron_of_several_huge_cc_creators/

Desserts with patterned marzipan would be wonderful! And seconding the comment for grand meals, it would really add to any regency parties or events

These would be so cute for gameplay, I think there are mods for "Tea Party Events" and these would work for weddings as well. I second these ideas!!

Pretty things: https://janeaustensworld.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/beatondesserts-21.jpg and maybe some sort of meat pies that are pretty: https://i.pinimg.com/564x/1f/0d/c5/1f0dc513587e7be8618a28f9e2365cff.jpg

A tea set would be lovely, but a Regency Era tea is quite different from say a Victorian Era tea which is what most people are familiar with. Pheasant, mutton, meat pies, jellies, soups that kept for a while (like white soup) were usual. A variety of fruits and cheeses as well, but there are some fruits and vegetables that weren't available or known that are common to a lot of us today. Wine, port, ales were common to drink. Wine was frequently mixed with water also. There's a few cookbooks out there that might give you a better idea.

I think a lovely tea set would be nice. With teas from the era that can also work with the mill and all your other custom teas. Plus anything that goes with high tea (watercress and cucumber sandwhiches, pastries, lemon cakes, etc.) Perhaps a nice cheese plate? We already have wellington and rack of lamb and Ham Dinner and the like so I don't know what meals you could add. Maybe Goosberry pie? (The Duke has a particular fondness for it). Roast Pheasant (should also be available as a grand meal)? Perhaps some sort of Venison dish?

Yes regency era food is always so artfully done. I'd love to see a high tea sandwhich set up

BRG

Nothing to suggest, just super excited!

Fritters, fish/meat stews, oats (porridge), a charcuterie board with meats and cheese, cabbage

Sydni Lynn

I believe they ate pheasant and lots of baked goods like plum pie, most likely pork with the whole pig on the table with an apple in it's mouth, they also ate lots of fruit and vegetables, tarty deserts, also lots of soups.

cucumber sandwiches

Seteva

what is that bird pie that they always talk about hahaha. and porridge, I've got the books, I could even go through them and find food lol

Seteva

Quail popped in to my head, other than what's already been written.

Veronica Trudeau

wasn't the regency era the time sandwiches and the idea of lunch started?

Lady D

oh my yes! I’ll leave the Brits to speak on what proper food is but I would love that

Balls had a lot of finger food and bowls of punch so that people could keep their energy up for the Ball. Balls could wind up being an 8 hour ordeal sometimes.

Gamerm0m

Yes, please! I have a completely historical world that I play in, so I'm excited about any historical food but I really would love some fancy historical food platers for dinner or for balls since I have plenty of stuff for my lower-class sims

I feel like venison is a thing that is completely absent in Sims 4 that might be interesting to see here. Also, slightly unrelated, have you thought about making some grand meals? I have a ton of CC recipes but no one seems to make grand meals, are they more difficult to create?

Anna

The queen seemed to really love her ski slopes at tea 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anna Garcia

(I do a lot of themed meals in my little corner of the world.)
