Update 2021 August 17th:

So our last update kind of broke the cow...sorry about that. We are currently rolling back to the previous update. Will add the grocery tags again after we figure out what we did to break the files.

Update 2021 August 16th:

Added tags so that the milk can now be ordered via phone grocery menu and can be carried in the picnic Basket

Update 2021 July 30th:

The cow is now updated for the 1.77 patch, as well as a couple of minor bugs fixed and some improvements:

You will be able to collect milk and meat again after the 1.77 patch. Tags have been updated to work with CoL ingredient system. SCCO tags will be updated later once Srsly is done on her end.
The grass system for the cow has been redone and is now more reliable. Now when you move the cow around it will automatically know if it's on grass or not. If you were experiencing disappearing cows, it's likely because they weren't realizing they were on grass and were starving.
The haybales now default to "Enabled (On)" when placed down so that they automatically feed the cows, as people were forgetting to turn them on. They also completely turn off now when choosing that option.
The signs will no longer moo before purchasing a cow, lol.
Thumbnails and names are now fixed and will no longer show the llama image.
The sad buff and notifications for collecting meat at high friendship are now fixed.
The pistachio and ginger cannister that says cherry has now been fixed (along with any other similar cases).
Plasma milk now fills vampire thirst.
Milk prices have been adjusted, some milks will be cheaper/cost more than others slightly (much like real life).
Translations added from the following people (harvestable translations not added yet): German by Helene912, French by Candyman, Traditional Chinese by ShushanR, Simplified Chinese by GreenOnionC, Spanish by Geosims, Portuguese by Play_Luque, Polish by Simgata
In our next cow update we will have more minor improvements and compatibility with CoL, and then the updates after that will include new features that we can't wait to show you! We also have other animals and objects coming later!

COWPLANT VERSION OF DAIRY COW

a)This cow include the following features:

• Buy dairy cow (7 swatches available)

• Rename Cow

• Feed hay or special seeds by opening the "Treat bag for cow"

• Collect milk, milk varies depending on what you fed the cow

• Sell milk

• Drink milk, which gives you many different special moodlets

• Talk to the cow and build/destroy your friendships

• Pet the cow, hidden interaction which unlocks when friendship is higher than 30

• Tell secret, hidden interaction which unlocks when friendship is higher than 50

• Meat collection (must be enabled through shift-click) that allows you to send your cow away and collect its meat

b)Additional objects that can be found in build/buy mode:

• Cow

• "Treat bag for cow" which allows you to collect 18 seeds upon opening, there are 15 type of seeds in

total, 3 (coconut, plasma fruit, soya bean) are seeds from expansion packs, you must own the

expansion pack for them to appear. These seeds can also be planted in your garden which allows you

to harvest after the plant matures.

• "Hay" which you can buy and feed your cow with to get plain milk.

• "Hay Bale" and "Hay Pile" both allow you to collect hay,

*If your cow is placed on grass, it will automatically eat when it’s hungry and will not die from starvation. If

your cow is not placed on grass, you need to feed it manually, OR place "Hay Bale" or "Hay pile" within 9

tile of the cow, and click on the hay to "Enable-Auto Eating", then your cow would automatically eat as if

they are on grass.

• "Milk Canister" and "Milk bottle" . The Milk Bottle allows you to have a quick drink of milk.

Additional information:

All interactions are available for child-adult sims

• Cows can be fed every 4 hours, you can collect milk immediately after feeding, your sim will likely autonomously do so.

• If your cow is full, you will not be able to feed it, Hover your mouse over the cow to check its stats.

• if your sim has friendship with a cow, and the cow is starving and not placed on grass, your sim will autonomously feed it with any seed or hay they have in their inventory.

• Collecting hay gives your sim special moodlet "Fresh hay”

• Purchasing new cow gives moodlet "New cow”

• If your friendship is above 70 with a cow and you send the cow away for meat, you will get moodlet "Lost a Friend”

• Petting cow gives moodlet "Divine Bovine”

• Drinking milk gives you a number of different moodlets depending on the type of milk, try them out!

• Cow will die of old age eventually, you will get a notification once your cow is getting close to the end of its days.

Potential bug - the energy of the cow turns into "None" and it wont go to sleep, if this happens just shift-click on the cow to "Refill Energy" and it should bring it back onto the right track)

No the cowplant is an add on. If you have the Farming committee cow you will need to download the icemunmun_DairyCowplant_AddOn if you want the cowplant too

Hi Lovely! I'm going through my mods, updating. Have a question...cow update. Mizore's Aug. 24th post says "You only need to re-download the Cow_Milk_Bottle and main cow file..." But I'm not sure what files those are since none of the files I see have those 'actual' names. Also, I have a file '!Cow_Milk_Bottle_Plain' and I have NO IDEA where I got this file (so can't update). I opened up the 3 attached files & I'm totally missing & don't see it there. Do I even need it? Thanks!!

The cows and chicken coop were updated for the patch and function differently from the cottage living cows and chicken. The eggs and milk were nade compatible with cottage living. Just a sifferent way for milk and different flavoured milk ( different gameplay to cottage cows and chk)

For some reason the update is causing a better exception error when my sim is trying to milk the cow. After that milk canister doesn't appear in inventory.

Its compatible. The tuning errors are just due to syntax rearrangements EA does every patch. They keep changing stuff around...tuning errors this patch may disappear in the ext and then reappear again in a later patch. Are tou getting any last exception errors ?

Hi icemunmun, sorry to ask a question here but I have looked through your instructions and followed all but still having an issue...I have my cow on both grass, and a soil area, but she will not eat. She just disappears every few Sim hours or so, leaving the sign in her place. I've deleted and redownloaded the package file but still having same issue. When my sim opens the cow treat bag, the bananas or whatever just sit in inventory and I can't see a way to make cow eat them, she won't eat hay or grass on her own either. Perhaps it is a clash with one of the many other mods I use, I am currently having last exception errors so am going to start deleting mods and get to a clean game... hopefully this cow will work for me then! Just wanted to report it.

Oh those are minor tuning changes..the game pathces keep changing these around. In a patch or two these tuning changes will disappear and a new set of tuning changes will be implemented. Does not affect game

The cows move!!!! I can finally have a farm like I did in TS3 with the OK corral cow from the store. This is s much better than that! Hey..can you check the tooltip and see if the energy is okay ? If its low and its not being filled then shift click on the cow and fill the energy. If energy is low, social interactions may not be available

This is so cool. I really do wish that the milks were available (buyable from the catalog OR fridge) without the cow or cow plant though. I love the cow, don't get me wrong, but I try to have a lot less CC in my game (my computer struggles a bit) and this just adds a little more slowness to my game, I've noticed. In any case, this is super cool and I love it. :)

My cow is living in my Sim's backyard which isn't a farm and although she's been feeding her and talking to her and everything, it keeps sayint that the cow has no energy. Also it hasn't slept, do I need to make my yard bigger or get a regualar farm lot? I just couldn't figure out how to make the energy go up.

OMG, you are so amazing. I'm so happy, I can finally say that my farm is now complete. I honestly don't like cowplants too but I only grew one to complete my aspiration and it's been sp buggy. It just keeps dying and coming back to life anytime I enter BuildBuy. This is a godsend, thank you so much :D

No the cowplant is an add on. If you have the Farming committee cow you will need to download the icemunmun_DairyCowplant_AddOn if you want the cowplant too

Quick question...do I need to download the cow plant zip also or is it included in the Farming Committeee zip already?

The cows and chicken coop were updated for the patch and function differently from the cottage living cows and chicken. The eggs and milk were nade compatible with cottage living. Just a sifferent way for milk and different flavoured milk ( different gameplay to cottage cows and chk)

If I have Cottage Living, do I have to download the Cow and Chicken Coop mod? Or does it serve or add a different function than the cows and chickens from Cottage Living.

For some reason the update is causing a better exception error when my sim is trying to milk the cow. After that milk canister doesn't appear in inventory.

Its compatible. The tuning errors are just due to syntax rearrangements EA does every patch. They keep changing stuff around...tuning errors this patch may disappear in the ext and then reappear again in a later patch. Are tou getting any last exception errors ?

Hey the files are in .zip archive format. so you need to download them and extract them. Check and see if your pc automatically unzips the folders

I can't locate the cow in the Build/Buy catalog. I searched for "cow" and "dairy" and nothing pops up even though I've confirmed it's installed in my mods folder.

Oh those are minor tuning changes..the game pathces keep changing these around. In a patch or two these tuning changes will disappear and a new set of tuning changes will be implemented. Does not affect game

Hey..can you check the tooltip and see if the energy is okay ? If its low and its not being filled then shift click on the cow and fill the energy. If energy is low, social interactions may not be available

Hi there! I’ve been trying to figure out why my cows keep disappearing without warning & I have to keep repurchasing them. Auto-hay & auto-grass are activated. Also my sim cannot interact with them unless it’s collecting milk. No talking or petting to build relationships. Thank you so much!

The milk cannister names will be fixed in a larger update among other things. We are still collecting bug data!

If you download the cowplant standalone version the milk will be found in the catalogue. I will add a milk only folder. Maybe I will add it to the fridge in future.

Oh yes! Milk will be used to make recipes, different milk products like butter, cream etc and different types of Cheese!

Hover over the cow to check whether the energy meter is low. If it is then shift click to fill it. If the energy remains low then the cow will die/disappear

My cow disappeared randomly, and I noticed this in Pixelade's review as well. Is this a bug? Overall, I absolutely love this mod so far, amazing work!

How many Sim days do the cows live for? Can you turn off their aging? (Do they age even with Sim aging off?)

Its a known bug which occurs for some people unfortunately. Shift click and select fill energy if the meter doesnt go up
