Pupils are trained to take in the thought of a Latin sentence in the Latin order before translating. Abundant directions, questions, and suggestions teach the pupil how to attack Latin sentences and, in general, how to study. New words are first met in an enlightening context, and pupils are trained to get at the meaning of new words from the context and from light thrown upon their meaning by related Latin and English words.
