There are still a few videos left on my sponsorship with ViewSonic, but just wanted to let you all know I'm still working on the analysis video everyday. Of course, this Patreon is only for analysis videos, so no one will be charged for any other type of video.
Been playing a lot more Guilty Gear recently, and I'm looking forward to Rev 2. The next analysis will be about skill, luck, complexity, and depth in fighting games, and Guilty Gear will definitely be featured in it. I've realized that complexity is often unfairly dismissed as needlessly difficult or making a game unfun. The problem is that complexity cannot be fairly judged until one understands what it's for. Motion commands seem dumb until you realize they're used to balance moves and determine how the character will move. There's a great James Chen article on this back in the SRK days. Rising Thunder and Divekick are games I will certainly examine.
Audio commentaries and bonus video content are underway, and I'm thinking about experimenting with doing these updates via audio file. I'm also thinking about making better goals for the Patreon.
