You are correct! The Untold Story (2030) takes place six months prior to Dana's Story (2031), which takes place eight years after The Sentinels (2023). The original plan for the Untold story was unquestionably better, but as they say, "Now that's a Cannon movie!". I remember seeing a fan cut of the original plan once, and it was amazing, but I can't find it now. If anyone knows where to, hit me up!

2024-08-17 16:27:51 +0000 UTCPretty sure it takes place between the Sentinels and Southern Cross, it was ORIGINALLY supposed to take place when you said, but because of the cuts they had to make and inserting Southern Cross footage it got shifted in the timeline to later during production.

If I was in the restaurant and witnessed these events, I would tell the waiter or bartender that they need to call the police and advise Min-Mei that she needs to do two things. 1) Press assault charges against Kyle, and 2) Tell her she needs to hire a new manager as Kyle has anger issues that need to be addressed and remind her that Kyle works for her and shouldn't be allowed to behave in such a unredeeming manner. Finally, I would ask Rick, why the heck he wasn't already doing this for their friend, and just sat in his seat like a lump on a log.

2024-08-11 01:20:49 +0000 UTCThe Untold Story is kinda rough. It takes place during the SDF-1's return to Earth from Pluto. The issue is Cannon who financed it also re-edited it when it was done. Carl Macek basically got George Lucas'd (by Disney) and told to step back. So what we got was a Film that only semi lines up with the rest of Robotech but Macek said you could ignore it. Just know man it it's got problems because to many people were involved.

It's my wife's favourite arc of the series, though many people like it the least. It's weirder, but in a way that's actually quite interesting in my opinion. I think you'll find the lead frustrating at times, but you the characters are pretty deep and well-developed. I think one of the main reasons people like it less is because of mecha designs. Are you gonna watch the three episodes of Robotech II: the Sentinels (or the movie cut), and Robotech: The Untold Story, which both take place in between The Macross Saga and Southern Cross?
