Oh sheesh a nostalgia hit - Dreamscape! I'd forgotten that even exists, but soon as I read the title it jiggled the memory. Watched it many times when I was young. I don't think I remember much, but I watched a trailer on Youtube and wooow...I actually do remember many of those scenes. Can't wait for the reaction vid - that will be fun!

I've recently taken a scenic tour down Nostalgia Avenue re-watching some of the Saturday morning cartoons of my illspent youth in the 80ies, and i'm sad to say pretty much none of them have aged well, at all. The plots and animation are... i mean i had lowered my expectations to account for rose tinted memory filters because simpler times, simpler mind and all that, but i honestly did not expect it to be _that_ disparate from my recollection in terms of quality. Seriously, that sh*t is rough af! About the only thing that has held up is the music and surprisingly enough some of the 60ies repeats they used as 'padding' as well as the brit Supermarionation stuff like Thunderbirds.

Only if you wanna ugly cry...

Wow that sounds really interesting! I am a HUGE sucker for Greek mythology :) Thank you, my friend!

Nice! Thank you!

Just checked JustWatch (great resource) for Final Space and only one season (of three, if that's the right version) is available for purchase on Prime: https://www.justwatch.com/us/tv-show/final-space

I would also like to throw into the ring "Ulysses 31", a co-production between the French studio DIC Audiovisual and Japanese Studio Tokyo Movie Shinsha. The story is a far future space reimagining of the Greek mythology of Odysseus that takes place in the 31st century. This reimagining has three main characters Ulysses the captain of the space ship Odyssey, his son Telemachus, and an alien child rescued at the beginning of the series. While the series has never been released officially in the US. A 'remaster' version is available to stream on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diH8TXZKfuQ&list=PLYPFJYTtiTzYkprQK51NpV9skegBtvJUd&pp=iAQB

If you want an example of the kind of story the She-Ra showrunner tells, watch 'Nimona'; it's a 90-minute animated movie that got Oscar-nominated after Disney discarded it and it was rescued by Netflix and Annapurna.

Seconding the suggestion for the 2018 reinterpretation of She-Ra; it's one of the best pieces of character-driven story-telling I've seen in any medium over the last several years, masquerading as a fun show for kids. Here is a short pitch for it, by another reactor who has made several great video essays on the show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pij3UD7Qj4I

I'm definitely going to have to pull the trigger on Galaxy Quest and Futurama! Thank you!

My buddy had the toys for Vehicle Squad Voltron and I remember it being a really cool model!

Fury Roll

It was a TBS production from creator Olan Rodgers. Whichever platform has TBS shows, I assume. Unfortunately, I don't believe it is Stream-able on any major platforms. I had to purchase my copies, which I did during Christmas for discount years ago, like 2018 &2019. Ironically, I still have my viewable access on the old YouTube show access.

For Movies, a couple suggestions if they're stuff that npiques your interest (ignore any you've already seen and loved) Galaxy Quest - A movie so Trek, everyone on the cast are honorary Trekkies Color Out of Space - Nick Cage (he's good in it, I promise) and Lovecraft Dark City - Ever play Mage the Ascension? That. What We Do In The Shadows: More horror but it's funny AF Mystery Science Theatre 3000: (Esp if you start with Space Mutiny) TV: What We Do in the Shadows: Same creators but in Neeheew Yohoooork Citaaaaaay Futurama Cartoons Gargoyles (Serialized and it's a Next Gen Reunion half the damn time as Riker and Troi are the 2 main baddies) Megas XLR (Giant Robots and Jersey) Batman Beyond (Futuristic Batman) She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (Despite the animation style looking like it's geared for kids, it goes HARD) As for your idea of a few eps of a cartoon here and there, I love that idea. As much Nostalgia as I have for Thundercats and Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, there some stuff that aged like milk. Look, voice acting has come a long way.

And Vehicle Squad Voltron is better than most folks remember.

Micah Spiese

Thanks for the recommendation, my friend! Where can I stream Final Space?

Fury Roll

Voltron, the original 80s version Before the remake (which is awesome). Also, if you Haven't caught my multiple mention, the short series FINAL SPACE is a full emotional ride of comedy, drama, and Real heart felt emotions.
