2024-04-16 03:36:12 +0000 UTCYeah, the ending stinger was our Klingon bro from Wej Duj. T'Lyn freaking rules. However, the season was started being written prior to the Ssn 3 finale and they weren't sure she'd be so anticipated. (In other words, sometimes, she's kinda glossed over in, like, 2 eps, but they found out quick enough that she's AMAZING in all the others.) And she's no Cousin Oliver. She pairs off with 1 or 2 of the main cast perfectly. This season rules. This ep DOES require some VOY knowledge but it's kind of the one that needs the most. The only recommendation I can make for the tail of the season is 2 TNG eps. "The First Duty" and the big daddy TNG ep "Lower Decks". For the next ep however, have your wallet handy. There's something coming, and you WILL need to buy the merch for it.

2024-04-15 21:46:03 +0000 UTCI NEEDED this today with the news about the show being cancelled after S5, just being able to soak in the joy for 40 minutes. I KNEW you'd just love T'Lyn - I'm absolutely certain you are going to enjoy her contributions/dynamics for the rest of the season. You are exactly right about the way in which the animators are able to so well convey the "unrestrained for a Vulcan" energy through her facial expressions, and also massive shout out to Gabrielle Ruiz's voice acting that I think is also able to do the same in such wonderfully subtle ways whilst never making her feel "not Vulcan" if you know what I mean. The Brad and Beckett scene is one of my absolute favourites, just like you I found it so impactful. And getting to see (nearly) all of them promoted at the end! Tears. Also YES that is the whale probe from the Voyage Home in the opening credits battle scene!
