Trust me, I've watched this several times and there's still stuff I miss xD

I made sure to write Souther's name in my physical notes this time :) The space combat was/is ridiculously terrifying. Thanks for breaking that all down, G!

Thank you for the clarification on Phoebe! Honestly, I seriously do not know how you all waited a year + between seasons. Thank you for the great info, my friend!

Fury Roll

That's right! I haven't edited that one yet but I remember now that you mention it. Thank you, my friend!

Awesome info! Love the Guy Molinari backstory Thank you so much, my friend!

When you said "How did they find that out?" about the 'abandoned' station, it was when they were leaving Eros. Remember that Alex said that they think they found out where they were going, and Miller had urged them to go directly there because maybe they'd be gone if they delayed. Alex found it out due to Dresden's ship leaving Eros at the same time sending comms to that station, I believe. Edit: Fun fact, Dresden is played by the guy who played Private Spunkmeyer in 'Aliens', the dropship co-pilot.

I like some of the more esoteric touches in this show. The Belter Freighter is the Guy Molinari. As someone who spent considerable time living in and around NYC I knew Guy Molinari was a NY State senator from Staten Island. When one of the writers lived in NY they would commute to Manhattan on the Guy Molinari ferry. Thus the name of the Belter ship was born! (only a die hard NYer from the 80's would know who that was!! It is not a spoiler to say that one of the Martian ships in the books was called the Sally Ride after one of the first woman astronauts as well!) When a Martian ship (such as the Roci) goes into battle, the lighting goes from red (martian color!) to blue (earth color or battle color for Mars!) Earth ships do the opposite!! Lastly, Daniel Kash played Dresden the scientist in the series. Ty Frank and Wes Chatham make no secret of their love for the movie Alien and Kash had his first movie role as Pvt Spunkmeyer in the sequel film Aliens in 1986!. This show if full of easter eggs that are fun to point out as we go!

Also this episode was written by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, the two authors of the books. So there's that.

- Souther is the former Fleet Commander. - You're right, they go zero-atmo during combat to eliminate the threat of explosive decompression - Phoebe is the name of the whole moon, not just the research station on it. So it's a moon of Saturn and they found the protomolecule there. - The space combat is just chefs kiss in this show! I love how we see the different levels of tech between the Belter freighter and the MCRN ship. Alex was doing all those awesome maneuvers with a ball roller on a mouse and a console the size of an ipad xD So good! - I always found the info around the protomolecule to be a bit confusing, so this is more for me, lol: While Dresden was standing there he says the PM reprograms/repurposes life for it's own purpose (they don't know what). They (Dresden & his benefactors) are studying it to hopefully unlock this 'reprogram' function so they can jump-start human evolution (reprogram humans to survive in zero g, survive the crushing atmo of Jupiter, etc). Dresden thinks this is so important no checks or balances should be in place. The system goes to war, millions die, he doesn't care. . . as long as he can continue his work. - Your casual call out of Octavia, I forgot who the hell you were talking about for a minute, LMAO!

Regarding Diego, Uncle Matteo said to him when he was pushing him out the airlock that someone would be by to rescue him (because of his beacon)

This episode was directed by Breck Eisner. While all of the directors on the series are good, whenever you see his hame on an episode, you're in for a treat (he typically directs two episode a season). Dresden said that Phoebe (a moon of Saturn) was itself, the extra-solar delivery system, not that something hit it. This aligns with the general hypotheses of astrophysicists today who believe Phoebe originated from outside the solar system and was "captured" by Saturn's gravity. That of course, implies that it wuld have been shot at Earth billions of years ago. As far as Diogo being rescued, if you watch that episode closely you can see there was an emergency beacon flashing on his helmet. I've always assumed, (although there was nothing mentioned in the show) there might have also been some sort of emergency radio signal. Overall, you're asking some really great questions. Answers are coming - slowly - along with more questions. You're just going to have to wait, like we all did. At least you get to go right from the end of one season to the start of the next in a week (assuming you don't give in to the urge to binge). Those os use who watched as it was released had to wait a year between seasons - sometimes longer. The wait was painful. 😱
