The Expanse 1x9 - 'Critical Mass' FULL LENGTH Reaction & Review

Hang on to that love, you are going to need it!! And you are VERY insightful in most of your musings! Great to hear it.

Etta Eskridge

The "plan was in place" because they originally intended for the Anubis to deliver the protomolecule to Eros. That got tanked when it killed everyone on board, but then Julie went to Eros, so when they found her they realized they could still proceed with the original plan.

^THIS! Its like a damn time machine :D I love the cliffhangers...and I hate them :D

Hear you about not understanding how The Expanse is not up there given that it easily tops all the "most talked about" SciFi givings. The show doing things like no other show is 1000% truth. It's absolutely amazing how this show is S Tier in every category imaginable. Hell even the ability to give insane cliffhangers at the end of nearly every episode is second to none. No other show has made me lose all grasp of time where the end of the episode has had me surprised that 45 minutes has come and gone! Talk about immersing someone in the universe you've created...The Expanse holds the trophy! Can't wait to watch your reaction to the finale later on!

I can relate - I've tried watching BSG twice now, and I keep getting bored... meanwhile, I've watched the expanse at least half a dozen times through! It's truly great television.

Yep...before The Expanse, BSG was my all time favorite SciFi deal. The Expanse came along and easily became the best anything I've ever watch on screen regardless of genre. For me NO OTHER show has nailed every single category the way this show did. I'm also shocked how it's not a major show talked about like GoT was or TWD. Folks are really missing out and it's probably because they see "SciFi" and that it's not Star Trek or Star Wars and instantly blow it off as probably some generic low end show. They really have no idea that this show easily does other subjects brutally well (politics, war, micro/macro relationships, cultural differences, human experiences, space combat, first contact, etc)!

Shawn Anomaly

Oh man, despite watching this show probably 40+ times by this point I NEVER caught the significance of introducing DeGraf writing. I just thought it was just him doing something simple! Very good catch with that and why I love this show!

Shawn Anomaly

I am right there with you, I do not understand how this is not more widely known or acknowledged as some of the best if not the best sci-fi of all time. I am rewatching and trying to finally finish one of the sci-fi shows (BSG) that is considered the best and the difference in how I would rate the to shows is drastic. So far BSG is a B or C grade show (entirely due to writing everything else is grate) and The Expanse is an S+ tier show for me. It slaps so hard!

Daxeah

I completly understand you :-) Those question were rushing my head the similar way. Fantastic reaction as always, and now... sorry going to watch your next reaction and by the way THANKS A LOT for making this week two episodes in row. You have absolutely made my day. :-)

Lukas Rapouch

Rip Julie! I'm sorry your theory didn't play out. I bet you if this show came out 10+ years ago it for sure would have reached the status you mentioned. Now with the flippant nature of shows created for streaming platforms and it being all about the $$ really hurt The Expanse.

Good eye, I never noticed that detail before!

Roger Kingsland

Another great reaction! A nice touch of how important details are in this show are the pencils. When we first met DeGraf in the first episode, he was taking notes with paper and pencil, while everyone else was using hand terminals. Chrisjen correctly deduced their importance.

This show requires paying attention to the details. 😀

Let's GO!
