I thought this episode was so great. Great observation by you, where yes, they were going to add humor, but the Klingon and Vulcan content they added wasn't just for laughs, but did it in a way that meaningfully added to the story while being in line with the established cultures. That said, every time T'Lyn gets called out for one of her "outbursts", to me it was just hysterical. Every time. Extra nice touch, if you look at the front piece of the Pakled mega-ship, I'm pretty sure it's the same design that was introduced back in TNG. It looks like they just took that ship and attached it to something else. Which also seems to fit what I remember about them, where they just find things and cobble them together, but don't innovate on their own. Nice touch by the writers. Kepp up the fun!
