COMMUNITY TRANSLATE IS BACK!! BONUS VIDEO

Hello my incredible patrons!!

So I made this video for this week....and it was just SO aggressively long xD xD xD.  On top of that I recorded the whole thing not knowing my mic was broken.....so it just seemed like it wasn't meant to be on the channel but I thought I'd release the rough edit to you anyway because these are still points that are really important to me!  I hope they resonate with you :)

And yes...GTS WILL RETURN for a guest video!!  We have the incredible Jared Haley joining us for Country Roads!  Let's make a translation for him, shall we?  :D

xxMKR

Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, growing like a breeze

Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads

All my memories gather 'round her
Miner's lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye

I hear her voice, in the morning hour she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
Driving down the road, I get a feeling
That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday

Take me home, down country roads
Take me home, down country roads

Aw, I'm glad I discovered this video, even though it's weeks later. It resonated with me so much. I don't know many people in creative lines of work, so it's really helpful to hear at least one voice arguing that it's okay and even normal if the work you love feels like really hard work sometimes, or if you want to pursue something you're passionate about even though it's not your one and only passion, and that neither of those things means you're not cut out for it and that you should give up without ever giving it a go. And your understanding of humility as not letting anything distract you from recognizing the humanity of every single person on the planet is the most beautiful thing I've heard all day, so thank you for that. :-) Hugs!

Leslie Vaas

Thank you for this video. (I’ve been knocked down for the month with H1N1, so I’m just catching up with life and videos. Please excuse the late comment! Anyway, I was 38 before I learned the lesson about the “being humble” situation. I was raised with strict religious rules about humility and it stifled my creativity and opportunities until I realized the difference via my therapist’s help. It’s totally okay to be proud and acknowledge when your passion and project is successful, as long as you don’t become a diva over it. You learned a valuable lesson early and what a blessing!! I created my own tiny handmade bath and body product company when I became disabled and the whole saying of not working a day in your life if you love something became infuriating as I waded through the government’s regulations over what I can do in making my products, or having a product literally splatter me in the face when it went wrong, or the hours spent doing paperwork. It’s still freaking work!! I love creating, and thankfully I now have a support system that my therapist encouraged me to develop to help me explore all of my passions and creative, while helping others pamper and educate themselves on taking time for themselves remains my main goal. The toxic belief system others guided me under stifled me for too many years and I’m so happy you have learned this early, and that you took it to heart that the advice is so toxic. Passions and creativity should be embraced and encouraged, so massive kudos to you for this post!! I wish I could give a virtual, long distance, hug for such supportive advice that will certainly help others that are struggling with these toxic situations as we did. Stay safe and stay the incredibly unique you! :)

Might be a bit late, but still found it fun. Like paradise, West Virginia, California, the Shenandoah mountains. Long live mountain hunters in hot weather. The country road leads me to mom's life for western mothers. And it manages the national highways. Not everyone should remember this. The Prime Minister is curious about blue waters. In the dark and the dust, fill the sky. Pepper tastes good to me. I heard this voice this morning, calling me at the last hour. The alarm went off in the radio room. Bags on the road and at home, when I got home yesterday, yesterday. Let me take the national road. Let me take the national road.

This is a compilation of the best lines of the few I tried. There are some themes going for sure. I tried to pick the best version of each line but I like the potential of too many of these. First, please accept my apology if this ends up a double/triple/quadruple post. I goofed up while composing the post and submitted it early. Editing ... may not have worked. Anyway. I used Bing Translate for this. I found something interesting with BT - it thought that "Bosnian (Latin)" it has just produced was in fact "Serbian (Latin)". Obviously, the two languages are very similar, but there are differences when I translated those back into English. So I ran with the Serbian difference.
