I had way too much fun filming this video. And honestly I hope to make more videos like this. I love that I can share my journey to improving as a performer and a person through this channel, but do it in a way that's fun. So anymore challenge ideas are always appreciated.
I had my first rehearsal with the full band today!! We've currently got piano, guitar, bass and drums, and we'll add some other colors to that later. It was SO disorienting getting used to singing with so much sound around me. But once I relaxed I was able to rely on muscle memory to keep me safe and more open. What a wild learning curve its going to be learning how to perform in this style! I've done it, but never at a level that I've been happy with. So we're staring down a long road but one that's really exciting.
If you're in NYC and +21 come to Pianos bar at 7pm on Sunday! We're trying a few songs out together for the first time, so it should be really intimate and laid back, and we're part of a bigger bill with some amazing performers.
