Codex - Calendar

A particular codex entry that will be present in the next update! I might add a few details here and there, so stay tuned 😉

Days in a year: 304 days.

Year: 2002 Years of the Sun (Second Age). The second age started after the fall of The Abyssal, precisely after the purge. Before that the first age began when the first humans walked the planet, in the continent of Harduin.

Months:
The year is divided in 10 months and four seasons.

1. Deepsnow - Composed of 31 days. Winter. Marked by frigid temperatures that can reach as low as -20°F (-30°C). Deepsnow is by far the coldest and driest month of the year. Much longer nights are also a feature of this month, with days lasting for only six hours.

2. Winterfade - Composed of 28 days. End of winter, beginning of spring. Winterfade is the transitory month between the deep cold and the start of the rain. The days are now only a few hours less than nights.

3. Rainmoot - Composed of 31 days. Spring. The rainiest month of the year, noticeable for the violent storms and torrential rains that can last for weeks. Usually is expected a rich harvest after a particular rainy Rainmoot. Many, mostly pirates and Atlaneans, take this month to pray and make offerings to Chamion, the god of the seas and storms.

4. Palesun - Composed of 30 days. End of spring, beginning of summer. Marked by the end of the rainy days and the return of the sun, but still a little weak and pale. Nature chooses this last few days to blossom, filling the world with color. Days and nights have equal duration.

5. Highsun - Composed of 31 days. Summer. The hottest month of the year, when the sun is at its peak. Harvests are plentiful and heatwaves are common. This month is dedicated to the king of the gods, Sol, with many festivals thrown in his name.

6. Redfall - Composed of 30 days. End of summer, beginner of autumn. The end of the hot days and the summer breeze. The beginning of the red showers—the shedding of leaves carried by the first signs of cold.

7. Colorfade - Composed of 31 days. Autumn. The world is sapped of color during this period, verdant and red fields are replaced with leafless trees. Gray overcast clouds blanket the skies.

8. Lowsun - Composed of 31 days. End of autumn, beginning of winter. This month is characterized by the dimming of the sun. During the day the bright shine looses its strength, gaining a red hue for the next few weeks.

9. Coldcreep - Composed of 30 days. Beginning of winter. Colder than the last month of Lowsun but marked by the creeping darkness that turn days shorter than nights.

10. Shadowfell - Composed of 31 days. Winter. The beginning of shadowfell is signaled by the last sunset, that shortly after reaching the horizon colors the sky with a bright red flash. This day is known as bloodfest, and is dedicated to the warmonger twins. Following this event the sun is not seen for the next 31 days and the planet is thrown into darkness.

Weeks:
Four weeks per month, seven days each.

1. Sunday - Dedicated to the sun god. The first day of the week is in honor of the king of the gods. The holy hierophants perform blessings on their sacred temples under the watchful light of the sun.

2. Moonday - Dedicated to the goddess of night. No cloud will block the moon's light on this day, and no secret will escape Nemeya's gaze.

3. Treeday - Dedicated to the goddess of nature. This day is reserved to the gathering of  families. Babies born on this day are considered blessed by the goddess.

4. Loveday - Dedicated to the deity of love. All marriages that happen on this day receive the blessing of Amorr, and is said that the deity of love might even pay the newlyweds a visit.

5. Crownday - Dedicated to the royal family of Solarys, the grand capital of Asteria. On this day at least one coin must be tossed in the many fountains scattered around the city, it is said bad luck strike those who don't.

6. Fireday - Dedicated to the god of fire. In the continent of Harduin, many keep an ember stone underneath their homes, on this day the stone will provide heat to the entire household.

7. Seerday (Formerly called Abyssday) - Dedicated to the god of foresight. As the last day of the week this one is considered a day of rest and insight. During the first era, this day was considered sacred to the followers of Death and parades in honor of the dead were common.

Comments

Man, I can not wait to completely fuck up all the other Gods. Literally none deserve forgiveness, except for our dear brother. If we can’t kill Sol, at least let us completely fuck him up like he did us.
