Plans

Okay, so a lot has happened since I last posted.

Last month I started working as an associate designer for Auroch Digital which was pretty awesome. However, it turns out I really can't do the 9 to 5 and have returned to my career as a freelancer.

I also had an awful dose of Covid last month and got free and clear of that like a week before the UK Games Expo. Thankfully the NHS people said I was fine to go as my symptoms had cleared up so I got to make a killing at the expo and meet some of you awesome people in person.

But now I've got all the big things out of the way. Apothecaria is mostly fulfilled with just a few stragglers and missing packages. UKGE is out of the way. And I'm back to being self-employed.

So here's the plan going forward:

Each month I'm going to release an expansion for one of my games - This month's game is UMBRA and I'm thinking some sort of Cyberspace focused expansion to give the Hackers more to do.

I will also be posting my portion of the Rainy Day Games feature in Tabletop Gaming Magazine here for you all to enjoy. Though if you want the full feature with all the nice layout and art, you'll have to buy TTG (which also supports me cause I write reviews, articles, and now games for them). This month's theme was Buried ;)

Now that we're past the £100 a month mark, I want to introduce another small reward to say thank you all for your support so I'll put up a poll to see what sort of content you'd be most interested in.

Long Term Plans

In terms of actual full game releases, larger expansions, and what I have cooking, let me do a quick rundown.

First on the docket is WASTE, the post-apocalyptic sequel to DELVE. This one is proving to be very weird to design as I want to focus on the parts of post-apocalyptic fiction that interest me like named characters, resource gathering, and wacky themed gangs. I really like the gang generation system, I just need to make sure it translates well to the map drawing aspect.

At the same time as that I'm putting the finishing touches on Shimmersnow Valley and starting on the Dragon's Lair expansion to Apothecaria. Dragon's Lair introduces a few new locales, new ailments, reagents, and the potential to tame or slay a dragon with some nice mechanical benefits for doing so.

After that I have another Apothecaria expansion planned tenatively called Spider Canyon which is a wild west themed expansion with a tonne of new things that deserves its own post.

All of which should take me until Zinequest 2022 but on the off-chance I manage to get everything done before then, I plan to work on either CONTAIN which is a SCP/ Warehouse 13 style map drawing game which will share the same kind of named character system as WASTE. Or I've been kicking around a Gravity Falls style TTRPG that could actually be pretty awesome. We'll see which one catches my fancy when we get there.

In the meantime though, I'll start putting up fortnightly updates and sharing my behind the scenes again.

Thanks again for supporting me, you lot are awesome! :)

Comments

Except Tooth and Claw bundled shipping backers, its going to be a while longer for those and Shanice and I will be addressing that in Kickstarter updates this week.

With mostly fulfilled Apothecaria, I hope you also mean "with exception to the people who combined shipping with Tooth And Claw". Otherwise I'm in the straggler's boat too.
