Unusual Patron Declines

Hey there everyone,

As of last month, there was a problem with Patreon that seemed to artificially cause declines in payments: https://www.influencerupdate.biz/news/67443/patreon-apologises-for-massive-amount-of-declined-payments/

This did not seem to effect me at all last month, but there is an unusually high amount of payment declines this month. I am just reaching out to my Patrons to confirm if these were intentional declines in payment or an issue that Patreon has been having this last month. This is a pretty huge impact (I made almost 300 less then the estimated amount), so I'd like to know if this was intentional on my patron's part and I need to shift gears to make up for next month or if this was some accident I can resolve in the next few days.

My payment went through as planned from paypal. And for the record I don't know how it could be intentional, your content is as good as ever, if anything it's increasing in quality, last scene preview was god tier.

I'm not sure about payments being declined but I did have to lower my tier to spare my bank account recently

Whatever their problem is it seems to be mostly with cards as from totally unscientific observation the declined payments were from cards while Paypal seemed to be okay.

No man, this was kinda Patreon's fault. One of the people I support on Patreon explained the issue and I even relayed it to another group I support here. Here, I got the details here: So unfortunately, a LOT of people's pledges are declining this month (this was posted back around early August so I assume it was to affect September), and it's due to Patreon's error. They switched to a new global bank and it screwed up everyone's payments. So if your pledge didn't go through this month, please try any of the following to fix things; 1) Update your credit card to a different card 2) Use PayPal if you aren't already 3) Probably the easiest solution, contact your bank to let them know the Patreon charges aren't fraudulent; this should be a one time thing.
