Mixed Bag of Holding: Revenge of the Sith Review

Comments

Hey, I know this might be random…but this year, 2025, would be the 10th anniversary of Episode VII, do you think it’d be interesting if the two crew watched and reviewed the sequel trilogy, rather the original?

Justin LeBlanc

Emily!!! If you love Coruscant you need to watch Andor! It is literally the BEST Star Wars media ever made. Hardly even Star Wars like, it's just amazingly done.

Hailey Ross

Caldwell not liking the clone wars is wild to me. But the first season is really for kids then they find their audience and its the best star wars content. This is the prequel show you want!

Spencer Stevenson

Honestly I would love to hear them discuss Rouge One and Andor

Zorro

I just finished watching Revenge of the Sith (for the very first time!) and can confirm that Duel of the Fates IS in fact played during the Obi Wan/Anakin duel!

The Fun Yaunt

A saw a video where someone compared Hayden Christiansen’s line delivery and rhythmic cadence and compared it to the way James Earl Jones delivered Vader’s lines and it was a perfect fit. Truly, he was playing 3D chess and only got flack for his delivery for years!

Just stumbled upon a huge discovery, Emily was right about the heft the whole time, look at this snippet from George Lucas: https://youtube.com/shorts/IZvs5vzy5Bg?si=8cOx8vaDOKjgDRZD

I feel like Clone Wars is a bit of a difficult show to get into without a guide of which arcs to skip. I have had trouble introducing it to people in the past. I like the show, but its various arcs are not super connected and greatly vary in quality. Personally I think that The Bad Batch might be a bit easier to get into and recommend it to anyone who wants to get more into the star wars animation world. You'll miss out on some of the references from not seeing Clone Wars, but it is a more connected story that follows a more consistent group of characters. The story even picks up right at the end of Revenge of the Sith. You will have to deal with the super distracting casting of a grown man to play a child in the first episode.

Objectively, yes the Prequels are not great movies. Is it still my favorite Trilogy? Yes.

“You know a movie is good when you have to read the novelization and watch the cartoon series to understand” Murph gets it 😭
