Pilot Live Stream Tonight - Patrons Only

Hi everyone,

Myself and another YouTuber, Linus Boman - who has a great channel about design (https://www.youtube.com/c/LinusBoman) - are working on the idea of creating a regular livestream where we discuss all kinds of design-related topics, including usability of software, emerging trends, re-brands gone wrong, own professional experiences, etc.

Tonight, we were planning on doing a very limited pilot to test the format and work out the technical kinks. Initially, we were only going to invite a handful of people - but after a technical run-through that went rather well a few days ago - we decided to instead open it up to a slightly larger audience.

So this stream will be available for patrons of both Linus and myself tonight at 21:30 BST / 16:30 NY / 13:30 PT.

Our livestream is not going to be much like our channels. It'll be a lot more relaxed and conversational, so if you have a few minutes (or hours) to spare, come hang out!

Tonight's stream will feature:

A bit of discussion about our very different design backgrounds
An assessment of some good and bad designs
Me user-testing some open source software on Linus, who has never tried it before
Discussion of things that people post in the live chat

It will likely be a little rough around the edges. We'll most likely be faffing with camera directions from time to time, etc. but it should be fun too.

For sure, we need to tighten up. We were mainly just trying out a few ideas to see what worked. In particular, we didn't have a 'theme' for our main discussion. We felt for this, we'd just talk about our design backgrounds and get a feel for the whole thing. Some things aspects worked, some didn't, for sure. I feel we could pick up the speed though - definitely.

Linus Boman: "... or are we being tedious?" Once upon a time, quite some time ago, there was a Saturday show called "Car Talk." It featured two over-educated brothers who ran/used-to-run a car repair shop. So callers would call in with their problems, and these two nuts would cook up a working answer. The thing with this podcast is it's just you two, and it moves a bit slow. Kind of interesting, but it needs to move a bit faster. Maybe you two should take suggestions on logos and things from the chat. Ooh, discord chat at SomeReallyReallyLongNumberHere. Dare anyone to type that in!

Yes, there'll be a stream recording, which I'm pretty sure will remain unlisted and we can share it.
