Howdy folks.

So, one thing I decided not to mention during the production of my Facebook video was that I was also slowly working away on my followup at the same time. In fact, I'm already about 70% through the script.

For those who have been asking for this for the last 5 years... yes.... it's time. I'm finally now working on the Finale video.

This one will be out a LOT faster, so you can expect to see it in December (optimistically) or January. Just sayin'.

This is the last section I'll be sharing before I release the entire video, which, as I mentioned, will have over an hour of new content you haven't seen yet.

The First 30 Minutes of My New Video!

Hello, wonderful folk!

After a mammoth script writing and editing process, I’m now ready to share a little taste of what’s to come!

These first 30 minutes represent something like a 5th of the overall video’s length. There are one or two scrappy moments, including a title or two that require replacing with ‘proper’ artwork but apart from those, this is pretty much a fully polished segment.

Update on Facebook video

Hey everyone, thought I'd give a little update on how things are going with my mammoth Facebook video.

Whenever I take on a large video project, I normally start off with a set of assumptions and a few ideas about how I'd like to structure things. Typically, my assumptions change drastically during the script writing phase and the video balloons into something completely different. This happened with both the Elitism video & Notation Must Die video.

A short piece I had performed recently.

This is a short piece in a larger series I wrote for the Spaceship Ensemble, which was performed in the Hague in March 2024.

It's dedicated to Tim Smith of the band Cardiacs who passed away in 2020. Towards the end of this piece, I threw a couple of 'harmonic angles' in as a nod to his distinct musical style.

Hey everyone, here it is in full! Thank you so much for the support throughout the production of this video. I'm very sorry this one took so long. Although the research and script phase was quite long, it wasn't too bad. The real problem was the volume of animations I queued up for myself. It's just impossible to communicate points about how notation works without complex animations that require storyboarding and After Effects work. There were around 80 animations in this video.

Hi everyone, it has been a while. After my last video, things got quite crazy and at times, quite ugly too (you don't take on a forum without getting a lot of backlash in return). It's a whole story.

Hey everyone, just to let you know the new video is up. Thanks very much for your comments on the draft I shared last week.

This video is quite a bit more polished, includes a lot more visual examples and includes additional sections/interviews towards the end that weren't in the draft.

Current Video & New Video Update

3D render of an orchestral piece I created in MuseScore 4

I put this very simple, short piece together for the marketing of MuseScore 4.

I'm currently using NotePerformer for the playback but will be replacing it with our own orchestral library once it is completely integrated in MS4.

The video also features some of our lovely new engraving!
