Dungeon Court is STILL in session! Justices Murphy, Axford, Tanner and the newly disrespected Bailiff Hurwitz reconvene to bring even more trials at the table.

D&D Court: Bonus Cases - Mom Parade

I tend to put honey in my coffee, but that’s only bc I usually drink ALOT of tea, and usually only use raw organic honey, that tastes very nice even all on its own, but I’ve never tried maple syrup. I tend to buy sugar free syrup bc I’m a diabetic, and for some reason it hits me a lot harder and makes my blood sugar spike more so than honey does, but I’m also an insane person who likes drinking their coffee black most of the time, so my opinion might 100% be irrelevant 😭😭

The Grinch (feral)

One of the PCs in my campaign is a kid! He is a fun little sailor background bard and it is so fun how our whole party comes together as a kind of family to protect him (even though he is of course a full PC and a little badass himself). A different situation but the kid vibes can be truly fun.

I put honey in hot coffee and I am fiercely defending it because it's yummy

just a little bawn

Try hot or iced coffee with honey and cinnamon it SLAPS

Caroline donnelly

Man yall had some spicy pen pals didn't you?

The Devil You Know

For sure dinosaurs are absolutely one of my autism special interests so this ep had me yelling, and agree that the player shouldn’t have been rude to the dm either

Hyena

Honey in coffee is the best

Denis Supan

How is a wolf more fantasy than a Dino or like a dragon is just a Dino

Alex Messbarger

The child conversation is a bit funny to me remembering that Bev was literally a 15 year old boy scout at a summer camp 😂

DrakeDiAngelo

i don’t know man, i think cringe culture is fake and often kind of ableist. not to be an sjw but a lot of people are into dinosaurs and as someone with autism, i am pretty sure that dinos are a fairly common special interest for autistic people. however i do think that players shouldn’t be entitled and i agree with emily that it’s not fun to be able to do what you want right away

hannah

I 100% agree with Emily, swimming is better with goggles. I haven't worn mine in years because I've been too self-conscious, but this has inspired me to give it another go. Thank you.

Squishy, Pawpaw's Brushtail Possum lover

I put honey into coffee with cream, so I don't mind the taste so much. Plus I'm so used to adding honey to tea that coffee seems just natural.

Mary H.

I work as a barista and the amount of people who put honey in their coffee is way more than I would have ever guessed???? Like we go through a thing of honey as fast as we do our chocolate drizzle bottle

Devynn Hanson

"I don't wanna be some moron running around as a dinosaur." AniMurph, 2022

Jess Little

"I'm coming firmly against it" about mom love interest

Jordan Sommers

Belated historical fun fact! In England during the height of the slave trade, abolitionists used to use honey in tea and coffee and campaign for others to do so as a political statement because sugar was produced by slave labour - it got to the point where you would know someone’s entire political leanings by how they took their tea and coffee

Calyx Rose

I read on reddit that it is yummy to use a dollop of mayonnaise in your coffee. I have yet to have the nerve to try it but im going to at some point.

DXGypsy

Hey Emily, my grandma puts honey in her coffee 🤣

Allie Gowins

Honey in coffee called a "miel" latte in fancy coffee shops in Seattle! Little FYI for yer tastebuds

Katy Pedelty

I've done honey in hot coffee with a splash of whiskey an I gotta say, I loved it. But it might be the whiskey bias

Cumgum

It's pretty bold talk for someone who spends so much time talking about wrestling.

Justin Holeman

Please have Murph issue a formal apology to Keychain for the robot slander.

iminyourdrawer

I cannot believe the feathered dinosaur slander

Lucas

I’ve tried honey in my coffee, but it’s not as good. Ice cream is the way to go.

Lady Land Puma

Gotta get that miel latte !

Victoria Shotts

Lil bit of honey with an even smaller amount of salt in hot coffee 🙌 then mixed with almond milk then poured over ice

Zach Landgraf

Emily, I implore you, try a honey and cinnamon latte

Caroline Darwin

oh, i could see it in a latte for sure. I usually prefer maple syrup tho! Honey is better for Chai :)

Tim R

Honey in my coffee/latte every day!

Nick

I have a trip where there will be opportunities to swim in a couple weeks… thank you for this reminder to get goggles I always regret not bringing any!

Julie V Eckert

As a vertebrate paleontologist, all the dino hate for adults was brutal to hear. They were neat critters, let folks enjoy it! But players shouldn't be snarky

PaleoGuy

I've used honey in my coffee ever since working in a cafe in college. I think sugar kind of messes with the taste of the coffee (especially espresso) and honey doesn't to me for some reason. It gets goopy in an iced drink though, so I've recently started using maple syrup for iced stuff, it's great too!

Josh Heretic

Uses goggles in a pool freaking rules!! It's the forbidden knowledge, we aren't supposed to be able to see clearly down there, and yet with technology we do anyway!!

Vayne

All the people in my life use honey in coffee hot or cold. Is it a PNW thing?

Grass

Down here in Australia mayple syrup costs far too much to ship in just to use in coffee. We reserve that pleasure for pancakes and waffles. Honey is regularly used as a sweetener in coffee by many people I know, as it has a much more appealing taste than plain sugar.

Cameron O'Connell

As a fellow bottom-of-the-pool enjoyer, I fucking loved the goggles bit 😄

Jason Langshaw

Feels like Murph has been playing a heel this pair of Dungeon Court and I am here for it. Love y'all ❤️ love the content. Naddpod holds a special place in my weekly schedule.

Millie Marrai

I love honey in my morning coffee as a substitute to sugar, but it definitely adds a touch of honey taste

Sukavi

This one hurt me as a paleontologist. I wish I had a court case so I could roast the bailiff

Lauren

I’m going to have a store. Literally, just Find-a-Familiar. For the cost of a literal level one spell, you can customize your own familiar. And I mean, customize the physical appearance, and then just Use it as a reskinned familiar of any other type

Pagos, Self-Proclaimed Fae King, Now with Real Musical Improv Action

Love honey in my coffee. I've never heard of maple syrup in coffee before. Maybe it's a west coast/east coast difference.

CommodoreGalaxy

Lmfao I am fucking crying “They went IN on him?!” “The mom can’t celebrate Mother’s Day” 💀💀💀💀💀

Andrew G

Please, I can't live with this information

Caitlyn Dill

Those goggles got me gigglin'

Caitlyn Dill

Punishment for Dino Boy should've been: allow him to wildshape into a dinosaur but he's LITTLE, like chicken sized dinosaur lmao

Zoe Jones

ran a cafe for a couple years, my partner is still a barista, and yeah honey in coffee is a thing and really great. i would be down to try maple syrup, ive tried maple sugar in a hot latte and it was better than i thought so why not syrup? the one thing i wont do is steam the honey with the milk because it is the absolute worst to clean off the steam wand. but really do whatever floats your boat to sweeten your coffee.

Tiny Owlbear

Can’t believe the most controversial thing that’s happened on the podcast is Murph saying dinosaurs are for kids

Kris Barnes

My wife doesn't listen to this, not at all her thing, but I played her the part about the goggles because it immediately made me think of her. She had a good laugh.

Micah

I need fan art of Murph and Em at Sandals with all the couples canoodling at the pool!!!!

Professor Pratt

I definitely don't wanna come at Murph for the dinosaurs thing because I thought what he said was very funny, but some people just like stuff and that's fine, as demonstrated by the several other dinosaur defenders in these comments. I personally do not care about dinosaurs nor am I defending dinosaur persons behavior, but I feel like some of the dinosaur judgement was undeserved also emily bringing goggles on vacation is extremely wonderful and endearing

Aiyana

Way too much hate on dinosaurs and dinosaur enjoyers in this episode. Even if you think it’s childish, D&D is wish fulfillment. Where else in adult life are you going to get to pretend to be a dinosaur? There’s nothing about turning into dinosaurs that would upset other players, so what’s wrong with letting a player have that? I’ve played with a Druid named Dinoman who only turned into dinosaurs, and it was awesome. Every time he’d transform into a brontosaurus or pteradon the whole table would cheer him on. Unless it’s something that makes other players have a worse time, just roll with your players ideas and let them have their cool moments.

Anya Saunders

Emily I’ve done both honey and maple syrup, and also a mix of the two (mom is a hot ey person, dad does syrup). Both are acceptable and perhaps even good, and the best honey coffee I had was when I got some local honey from a lady on the side of the road. Pinnacle of home coffee experiences

Logan Farrington

I hold Jake and murph in contempt for their anti-Dino behavior. How dare you

Jack Nathe

@emily, honey is really good in coffee if you also add oat milk! 🧡

Katie Rhodes

Chips Montgomery... sounds like someone's next character 👀

Will M.

That story of Emily taking goggles to the pool was so endearing

Chan Lee

I have no idea why I never thought about honey in coffee, it’s normal in tea so it should be good in coffee?

Robert

Taking a Kid adventuring is dangerous and not responsable! Says the party that had kids on a bag

Alejandro the Golden Dragon

Why not have the pool in Dice Christ confessions be a pool of holy water where players come to wash their dice of sin?

Nicholas Capps

I love the google°°°°!!!

Beau Tran

I use honey ALL THE TIME. #HONEYHONIES

Will Brannon

I'm also an oatmilk and brown sugar coffee drinker. Its so good.

Stephanie F

Studies of the T-Rex's larynx suggest that they didn't roar, they honked like a goose.

WunDarWun

My wife uses Honey. I just use sugar. Sometimes brown sugar. I did try Maple Syrup today in honor of Emily and Jake. It’s pretty good. I also use oat milk.

Micah

Personally I like zombies and dinosaurs, and think giant robots in Japanese media are cool as heck. But I find the family guy humour cringe like murph. Different strokes for different folks like Emily said, I think murph went a little too hard against people who like these sort of "childlike" things haha

Morti Kvisvik

People who don’t put honey in their hot coffee make me SICK.

Kozak

I love that this came out the same week that they released a Dinosaur Druid UA

Adam Michael

I've been drinking honey coffee for about 4 years, BUT the trick is to let the coffee cool a little bit before. It maintains some honey properties to not shove it in boiling coffee. Alo it dissolves better when it's just medium temperature/luke warm etc.

Maia Costea

I do love honey in my coffee! But it has to be from a bear. You can't trust honey that doesn't come from a bear's belly. 🐻

Miss Ter Cole

Generally honey in tea goes alright

Matt Atkinson

The idea of a familiar that takes the form of a child is actually really cool. Magic child

Ilana Galpert

Emily, I too am a goggle-wearing bottom-of-the-pool starer!!! I also used to try and "sit" on the bottom of the pool and lay face down on the surface with the water in my ears because I liked the quiet... undiagnosed ADHD really is something else😂 my parents would get slightly perturbed to find their kid playing dead or trying to lie belly-down on the bottom. I was such a strong swimmer that they didn't really mind though. They eventually got me a set of diving sticks and would set up little agility courses for me to basically get the feeling of skimming the bottom of the pool (this also stopped me from weirding out my siblings with my "drowning victim" look) Pool freaks are valid, goggle users unite!!! Edit: just realised I forgot to say that I'm nearly 25 and I would 100% still do this

atlasrising

Honey is the only proper sweetener you should ever add to chai. Theres nothing else quite like tea strong tea with grated ginger, cardamom and cinnamon plus a drizzle of honey.

Aaaaaarushi An Anachronistic Enigma

I've come to defend the Honey Coffee!

Schon, the Shadetree Mechanic of Zebuldar

Seemes short rest appropriate but our own Emily Axford was cast to play Sydney Emanuel in the movie of Legacy of The ancients show for the Glass Cannon Podcast thought it was awesome seeing my 2 favorite shows cross paths like that!

Nick Johnson

My go to coffee is a honey Oatmilk latte. My close second is a honey +lavender latte, which I have loving called a "bee cum" latte.

Amber W

Hear me out - the mom is bringing the NPCs as canon fodder; I’ve seen this before, this secret murder hobo brings weaklings with them and use them as human shields and trap canaries. You can kill off the NPCs but you may have just given them what they want. It’s 2022 Moms can be murder hobos to.

Charlie Hoskin

Goggle pic where

Alessandra

I might fight Murph and Jake over their dinosaurs opinions.

Casey Alexander

The child adoption made me think of Peyton in Dungeons and Daddies.

Canid

I. Love. Honey. Coffee.

Trevor Wurtsmith

Honey in an americano is 🤌

JaycobJoh

There are many ppl putting honey in their coffee and they're all crazy people

Freen

Add me to the Axford Goggles Gang. If you know you're going to the pool, you bring your goggs!

Tom J

I love honey in my black coffee, really only works hot cuz it will melt into the covfefe but honey in cold coffee sounds like it would just sink

Michael Singer

We had a similar druid situation as the first case but our DM gave us a item that led us to our hearts desires and our Druids led us to a jurassic Park island ran by Richard Attenborough where he saw the T-rex he was looking for

SaltyBurrito

My mum always takes her coffee black with a spoon of honey. I can’t get behind it though… I humbly believe honey belongs with tea.

Mich Blackie

I know that in the campaign I play in we adopted a little ghost girl. You don’t really need to worry about her too much, but it is still a kid to have around.

Nesve Fowl

I don't know what it is but being in any body of water, including pools, instantly turns me into a 5 year old. I want to race, I want to dive, I want to do wire-fighting Kung Fu while weightless in the pool. I fully support the adult goggles in pool movement.

GM

The Player in the Case of the Rejected Adoption, if you’re ever looking for other games to play you might really enjoy Wanderhome by Possum Creek Games- one of the playbooks is called The Guardian and about having a ward to take care of

Toe

Emily is a treasure 😂

ananarama

mad respect for goggles! life is short, flop around like a dolphin!

Kate N

I’m here to show some love to dinosaurs in DnD. Adventuring in a jungle that’s kinda prehistoric with Dinosaurs and some big bugs has been one of my favorite one shots to play in. I love to throw in a dino as an exotic creature when I DM. Not defending the player, that is wild behavior. Didn’t Eldermourne have a bunch of zombies and robots?

Mr. Dude Sky

I’m 22 and I really like dinosaurs!! RAWR 🦖

Robert

I tried honey coffee once and did not enjoy it.

Nesve Fowl

Ever since the Ixalan set of MTG I’ve been here for some rad feathered dinosaurs.

Mr. Dude Sky

Hi. Big defender of honey in coffee here. It’s real yummy and yes, excellent in a latte ❤️

Ronovena

If you put honey, and cinnamon in your milk and froth them before adding to your coffee it’s amazing!

Kylie Westfall

I like the idea that this dinosaur player is actually a kid 🦕

GGCoopie

I defend the stance of wanting to play dinosaurs. Reptiles in general are cool and dinosaurs are, in essence, just bigger lizards. I've always thought their embodiment in fantasy campaigns is never that strange especially since dragons, kobolds, dragonborns, wyverns and drakes all exist in these settings. In a fantasy setting where you're trying to engage in these fantasy scenarios: would you rather turn into a boar that you can easily find in the real world or a reptile that you've only heard of in stories and books?

David Silva

Cafe con miel is absolutely normal.

Crankysister

I’m here to fiercely defend honey coffee.

Emma Horton

In the case of the people going in on NPCs for not joining them, my advice is that sometimes you need to be very clear and concise as a DM talking to your PLAYERS, not just in character speaking to the party. I’ve done this a few times for the same reason where I just look at my party and go “there’s six of you, plus a bunch of enemy NPCs I’m going to be keeping track of in initiative, along with whatever you summon and whatever familiars you have. Not everyone is an adventurer. If you’re going to play D&D, play D&D and stop trying to engage the NPCs of my universe to do it for you, and also making it harder on me just so you have less responsibility on yourself.” Sometimes you really have to lay it all on the table like that and let them know. This one hit me because I’ve had players do the same thing and it irritates me to no end.

Cameron Davis

I am 34, not a scientist, and dinosaurs fucking rule. And feathered dinosaurs are the only way to go. I think you sinned against Dino Christ, who is way more rad than Dice Christ. Cause he has feathers. Check out the new Prehistoric Planet. It is freaking amazing.

Ken

Oooh I have ginger honey, I am intrigued and just might try this tomorrow 👀

Molly

Honey hive rise up!

Jennnnnnnnnnnn

I am pro goggles on vacation.

Haley Anne

My guys we exclusively sweeten our coffee with honey.

Miranda G

Maple syrup is waaaay more illegal in coffee what are you all talking about? You never have had a honey latte?

Mason Shucart

I’m currently playing one of two warforged characters in a tomb of annihilation campaign. I cracked up when Murph got worked up about robots and zombies and dinosaurs because I felt so specifically called out since our campaign has ALL THREE (and it’s rad as hell).

Sarah

As if Emily couldn’t get any fucking cuter, imagining the goggle situation makes me love her even more lol

Pearl of a Girl Nursery

Do not besmirch the fine name of honey coffee! Maple syrup is more expensive with a more subtle flavor. Give me the sweetness of six bees!

Jasmine (she,they,he)

I love honey and coffee

Alexander Mercado

Good content but can we stop pretending these are not entirely made up?

David

Wait I thought D&D stood for Diapers & Daddies?

Rachel Indelicato

I put honey in hot tea instead of sugar

Kevin Austin

A cafe miel is pretty common! It's like a latte with honey in it.

Calvin

I'm with Emily on the goggles. I actually couldn't learn how to swim until I wore big snorkeling goggles and then nothing could stop me spending time sitting on and exploring the bottom of the pool.

Noah Jay

As a fellow goggle user, I have never supported Emily more.

Noell S.

The honey almond milk flat white at Starbucks is pretty good

Cassidy

The goggles thing makes me want to hang with Emily so bad. She literally doesn't care what anyone thinks and I love that.

Michelle Spurgeon

This is the first time I’ve vehemently disagreed with Murph, Dino’s are rad

Grnt

That sounds delightful!

Emma Margaret

Im about to camping, and OMG I almost forgot my goggles!! But now I will be at the bottom of a river tomorrow trying to look at shit~ ty ty justices

Erin Paxson

Barely into the ep, but yes black coffee with honey is my favorite way to have coffee.

Emma Margaret

"You have to be a scientist or 8 years old to be super into dinosaurs" - Brian Murphy of NADDPOD Me sitting here with my dinosaur researcher circle of sheperds druid in a tomb of annihilation campaign sipping on my honeyed coffee wondering if Brian Murphy would hate me in real life.

Travis Hammer

I agree, give that person a talking dog. Have a druid npc they help who has a dog companion that is the pup of their original companion. Through some fuckery have the druid either die or stay behind and they cast awaken on the dog. A newly awakened dog could fill that void of a child.

Leah S.

I put honey in my partner's coffee every morning!

Monika Blue (they)

Ok bopper

Nolan Childerhose

I’ve put honey in some iced coffee, but the one time I put it in a hot coffee it hit so wrong.

Alex W

There was a special drink a the cafe I work at last month that was a lavender honey americano so it’s definitely not unheard of

Marla Kelly

I fully support honey in coffee. You take your honey, you take your cream, and boom you got coffbee. I used to drink it before I started my day as a teacher and it would sooth my throat and get me ramped up to rant about history.

Travis Hammer

Caldwell did not get nearly enough credit for his "Let's play Devil Dinosaur's advocate" joke

Paul Commane

The court is really where the Jens Nyack relationship shines in this universe

Noah James Perito

Ginger infused honey baby! Sounds weird in coffee but you gotta try it!

Dax Motarex

Honey works, maple syrup is the goat tho

EightKoboldsInATrenchcoat

Starbucks had a limited time honey and Madagascar vanilla coffee blend. It was like drinking strong floral coffee....it wasn't great but not bad either.

Will Smith

I do honey in coffee and my friends and I call them honey bombs 🤣

Sarah Sullivan

I put honey in my coffee sometimes, but depending on the kind of honey it can get a weird aftertaste. So far the best sweetners I've tried in lattes are rosemary syrup and rose syrup.

biblioprincess

Honey in coffee sounds good if I could still drink coffee. My weird drink that I'll defend is a 50-50 mix of Code red mountain dew and Chocolate milk. Best chocolate cherry soda around

Lorelei The Succubi and Kyra The succulent snack

I had to hear how they were treating my best friend Jake

Lorelei The Succubi and Kyra The succulent snack

I paused the ep because it's very important that I get in here early to mention that I wasn't allowed to listen to any contemporary music as a kid, so I just had a bunch of random mix tapes of music from the 50s and stuff, Ricky Nelson, Buddy Holly, and one incredibly inappropriate song from the Big Bopper in which he is begging his woman for sex over the phone? Anyway. Chantilly lace and a purdy face y'all

Pamphleteer

I don’t do coffee, but putting honey in my tea in the morning has been my morning routine for years now

Colin Kilzer

Man more and more I am horrified by some of the cases yall put out, like some of your groups are awesome, but nightmarish XD

Broghar The Bugbear

You put maple syrup in your coffee??? Now I gotta try it!

Allaura Kridler

Love that Jake was so uncomfortable with compliments that they all went back to endearing insults.
