I only started listening to Short Rest after campaign one ended and felt such FOMO since I imagined the Short Rests were detailed recaps of strategy, what could have happened, etc. Cut to this episode where they're going off on a 10 minute riff about Ryan Urphy and just BS-ing like 80% of each Short Rest and I think I love this more than I could have imagined

I have missed this energy from the show....don't get me wrong you guys did epicly well to be able to do what you have done, but MAN I've missed the way you guys are when face to face!! 👍👍🤣🤣

I'd argue against that seeing as Ryan's alignment is Lawful Great he would not be stealing the money, however because of his high charisma and (as seen in this episode) his ability to auto succeed intimidation checks, you'd just be giving him the money anyways. I do agree about Brian Murphy, what a normal ass dude.

I really like how the narrative went, where you were so close to finding Irena a couple episodes ago with the scry spell, and her being right there, but then you had to travel to get one specific piece to travel to where she is, and THEN having to come back again. Honestly absolutely love all of Emily's multiclasses, in Naddpod AND D20; I actually used the tempest-cleric/storm-sorcerer build she did in a sea-themed campaign and it was sooooo epic. Also the advice about taking a level of cleric for the hitpoints and the armour proficiencies is very very good, taking a cleric level is great

It shouldn't matter if her build is optimized, emily should get to play to have fun. She doesn't need to defend her choice. Remember how dnd is supposed to be a creative world where everyone can do what they think is fun? I can't believe how mad that made me. You don't owe anyone an explanation for your character choices unless you are being actively toxic, and the fact that people think they get a say in this situation...send them all to the eldritch grandblaster

I think Murph is right, like Zirk dying maybe would've been good on a narrative level (he has a big confrontation with his mom, then sacrifices himself to give Henry the potion and proves that he's not as selfish as Stella, plus it would be a very dark night of the soul moment halfway through the campaign when the group is at their lowest and the villain has showcased their power), but on a player/game level it would've been shitty to put the group against a vastly more powerful foe and then kill one of them, like it wouldn't be fair or fun

In response to Jake wishing to have better defended Fia- The Echoknight's Echo is treated as an object (meaning it physically occupies the space it's in). This means you can use it to provide at least half cover for someone, which is a +2 to AC & DEX saving throws. Technically if Shank is bigger than the creature you're trying to defend you could argue for 3/4 or total cover but that'd be up to DM discretion and I don't know if we can trust Ryan Urphy right now. I've been thinking how cinematic it would be for Hank to be fighting alongside Hank Jr, constantly summoning and resummoning Shank to cover Hank Jr's flank and soaking arrows and axe wounds for Hank's sweet boy.
