"Ah, Reddit-- the lower courts"

Nick Lerche

The amount of restraint the gang shows when Jake mispronounced sahuagin... I mean it's a hard one but that's gold

Nick Lerche

but they opened it

Going back to this if anyone's still wondering, The Paladin's resistance should have have taken over the Sorcerer's feat. Elemental adept lets you bypass resistance to it's specific damage type, (pretty much if fire is specifically listed on the paladin's sheet) but the paladin had broader resistance to all damage from spells, so that would take priority.

Gearbox

Know this is a couple years late but for the bag of holding, if a player can suffocate it means it is air tight, if it's air tight then it would be water tight

I know this is kinda useless cuz its such an old episode but there was a court case about whether a character could make healing potions with an herbalist kit and in the players handbook it says that an herbalist kit is used to make healing potions. Xanathats guide came out with the Alchemist kit and the rule changed to be that healing potions can be made with Alchemists kits or Herbalist kits. Either one can make them. Their DM probably just didnt know it was RAW but the player was in the right.

Omg just listened to all these and I'm dying over Strahd with a Ren voice!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I must now run that campaign just execute this madness

Mad Dungeon Mama

Exactly I thought the D and D rules lawyer would pick up on the idea that the wording in the Handbook refers to the way the game works not the way real life works and when you take up a space or are adjacent to a creature it means different things in real life. Even out of context of real life versus the game, the context of space can mean a lot of things and practically Like to see a couple ways players could argue this weird physics but there's not a lot of spells that would work practically if you were Acknowledgingly that boats move at speed and every spell you cast actually sits In the space you're leaving

That is so circumstantial though it doesn't say a lot of things but it does say the things that it does say

At no point in the spell conjure animals does it say the DM chooses the animals. Only that the DM has the statistics for said animals.

Jacob Dewald

Okay.... Clockwork Soul Sorcerer vs Oath of the Ancients. This comes down to Aura of Warding vs Elemental Adept. Elemental adept states: Choose one type of damage (fire in this case,) spells you cast ignore resistance of the damage type (fire.) Aura of warding states: within 10 ft of you allies gain resistance to spell damage. The Paladin didn't have resistance to fire damage. It had resistance to spell damage. Fire only overcomes fire resistance. It absorbs the spell itself, not the damage type.

For sure if the DM specified beforehand then there you go. It is interesting to consider that if your planet has a day/night cycle like earth, it is likely rotating on its axis at like 750 ft per second to 1500 ft per second (depending on latitude). If you were just using the center of the earth as your reference most banishments could return individuals several miles to the east. The more technical you get with space and time the more if a rabbit hole can become.

Slippery Pete

I really like your point. However if the DM specified the center of the earth (or their world) as the origin point or reference point of the spell, then the aarakocra would reappear in the sea. On the other hand, if the DM specified the reference point as the ship, then the aarakocra would reappear back on the ship.

Okay but fr how much for the rotisserie chicken stream?

Samuel Benhardt

With regards to the aarakocra case and Jake's initial dissent, it is an interesting consideration that here on our planet we are moving around the sun at about 1509 ft/s. SO, if you go with @Caldwel's definition of 'space', all banishments could potentially return the banished in the cruel void of space. The idea of space can be a lot more relative and zany than we often think it is. I agree with Jake that is the Aarakocra was standing they would be returned to the surface of the boat.

Slippery Pete

Can we get some more DM advice on creating a homebrew adventure! I feel like I have many ideas for stories but am not great at piecing them into a campaign.

Addie K

Love the court and the judges. Could listen to this all day. In fact, I might

Connor Noonan

Whatever happened with Cluckgain Bowl?

Emily

Will there be another d&d court? If so, where would we submit our cases?

Cassandra Cordova

Perhaps maybe we think before we speak. There is no reason to bring hurtful attacks here especially with such huge assumptions and zero knowledge of who these Trump supporters are and what their rhetoric is.

Love D&D court - I would seriously listen to a podcast that was nothing but that. Good job everyone!

RE: the dwarf who fell off the wagon - even if he had rolled athletics he rolled a nat 1!!! That may not auto fail with bonuses but odds are it would - that 1 was fated regardless of the skill

Noah James Perito

THE POTENTIAL

shrimpy_senpai

NADDPOD is what gets me through being a grad student and measuring insects all day long

Logenthar

you want to do a normal boring dnd campaign? what about a suburban mom campaign, dealing with the perils of bake off and cheating spouses. Think about it O.O

Prince.3ric

I do like how the one person who got made fun of for being rich “won” their court case by “bribing” the court 😂

Connor savage

I haven't had a rotisserie chicken in a while but I seem to be craving one now lol

Keith robinson

Can we have a Beverly Dnd Etiquette cotillion? (Thank you for this)

Aidan Bee

I'm in America, and I'm hoping I don't suddenly have to get a passport out.

William Bowen

P.s there’s a H in Herb for a reason 😜

Hamish

I’m Australia and I’m praying to Pelor that you all make the right decision

Hamish

Thank you!

Hamish

From the bottom of my heart, thank you 2-Crew! I voted early, but this will be my soundtrack to distract me from slow vote counting and uncertain results. You can’t imagine how much this helps, this little sliver of joy. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Britt Murphy

In terms of the banishment spell and the ship, Jake brought up the area of the deck being the spot occupied by the character and the others countered that the wording was 'space' occupied so the ship would move away from that space. The sticky wicket in such a literal interpretation is that the ground under that 'space' is moving. In Earth, the rotation is 460 meters per second so being banished for one second would place the 'space' five football fields away from the original banishment location on the ground. The space has to be anchored to something. I side with Jake on this one.

Eric Polk

I think if they are planing to make a new dm court episode they'll put a post asking for them

Kate W

I am from Switzerland and I can only say I hope for the best for tonight's election... I am actually scared of the implications that the results can bring... Besides that thanks for all the NADDPOD content I am so excited how campaign 2 will turn out, yet I still miss the band of boobs, hope the new characters will be as crazy and entertaining. Stay safe and healthy.

Limboxx Cottontail

I have 2 cases for the court. Where do i post them?

Kathleen Boyer
