i play a Revived Rouge in my regular campaign and it rules soooo much, my DM has done an absolutely phenomenal job making her past lives be a really satisfying part of the story. it would be so cool to see you play one even as a one shot, Emily!

I'm currently playing a really crunchy min max paladin. 3 lvls of Champion fighter and the rest paladin, Firbolg race, and wields a maul with the key feat of the character being blugeoner. On my turn I bonus action turn invisible (Firbolg hidden step ability), attack with advantage from invisibility and if I crit (on a 19 or 20 cause Champion fighter), blugeoner feat kicks in which gives EVERYONE advantage on attack rolls on that target until my next turn. Plus when I crit I use my max level smite available which ends up being 4d6 from my weapon plus 12d8 (if you have improved divine smite or 14d8 if the target is a fiend or undead) when using max smite at 4th level spell slots. Not only do I do big damage but I also help my team hit/crit more consistently by giving them advantage as well!

Emily!!! There is an unearthed arcana paladin oath that is like, exactly the flavor you’d like I think! It’s called Oath of the Watchers and I play a paladin in a campaign of beginners because they all chose squishy things and needed a tank. I also don’t like paladin flavoring but it seemed the best choice and I had a really hard time connecting to the character until I found this Oath!

I think the music from Campaign 1 would be amazing in C2. I was thinking about how some of Emily's themes may sound if played on different instruments to give C2 another vibe, but I'm sure that would be dependent on the theme the DM creates with the story as well! <3

I want to play a Cultbreaker Paladin so bad now- and for some filthy metagaming, half-casters are my favorite thing to play! I like Ranger/Cleric builds (esp Fey Wanderer, if you want more spell-y flavor), or any CHA based caster/Paladin. I know Emily's played a couple Hexblades, but those are so versatile for multiclassing. And right now I'm leveling my Arcane Trickster Rogue into Bladesinger

All Y'all, esp Emily - as far as music for campaign 2, if you decide reusing themes from 1, what about pulling a Daft Punk and doing a bunch of remixes? Even for a similar classical-music feel, going with variations on an existing theme gives a great sense of... Being the same NADDPOD™ brand, but being different enough to feel unique to a different campaign.

Hey Emily, the book with the alien you mentioned might be My Teacher is an Alien. The alien turns out to be kind of a good guy too if I remember correctly.

For Emily, I believe that the Artificer has access to smites and also low level wizard spells, so that could be an option to look into if you want to go the half martial/caster route.

Quarantine drink of choice: Grog. 1 part rum + 2 parts water in a tall glass. I call it proactively treating the hangover. Quarantine noms: rice or bread + what I call "Perpetual Broth and/or Stew". Step 1. Start with enormous pot of broth or stew panic-made at start of quarantine. Step 2. Consume from pot. Step 3. Refill with water and other ingredients as the contents dwindle. Step 4. Heat and repeat til society returns to normal or rapture. Whichever comes first.

Sorcerer/paladin is one of the best multiclasses in the game; you can’t smite above fourth level but you get SO many slots and you can regenerate them with metamagic AND you can build it so you get two attacks as paladin and then use metamagic to turn a high level spell into a bonus action it’s the craziest shit

Murph, to answer your thought chain there. Paladin and Sorcerer (sorcadin) is widely recognized as the most busted thing you can do in 5e. Typical builds are 2 paladin/18 sorc and 6 paladin/14 sorc. Twincast haste and greater invisibility, Quicken booming blade for extra attacks, and having nearly full caster slots for smiting are some of the highlights.
