Short Rest: Ep. 88: Faithless

Wild to be on the Patreon for a show you don't care about

Hex Sharpe

At this point in the show there are zero states. Revivify needs a spell component to use and what they just were in his pocket. And then it's just no one dies. Death does not matter in the show at all. How am I meant to care about characters that can't die

T H

Murph is right. For the brief 30 secs before bev revivified erlin, I was livid and furious 🀣

Mariah K. Pixi

Murph you monster, how dare you.

Archimedes64

It’s funny relistening to this ep hearing Emily talk about the challenges of role playing relationships when the ayda/fig romance in FHSY is right around the corner πŸ‘€

Cameron Baker

re: roleplaying flirting and relationships... in my campaign, two of our PCs have gotten engaged to each other, and my character is in a budding relationship with an NPC. Emily's right, it's so difficult to roleplay that stuff out because it's so intimate and it feels so real! when the engaged couple gets into deep conversation, I feel like I'm intruding, and when I'm roleplaying with my DM it feels very weird to be so intimate in front of everyone else in the party! it really is just as nerve wracking as flirting in real life πŸ˜‚

Dana A

The was the best short rest πŸ˜‚

Matt Boggs

Can't first with people in d&d ok Hilda Hilda

Andrew Bonkginya

Its about the conclusion on the In"vest"ment of time you've put in the fight against akarot

I listened to this at the dentist & actually laughed out loud during the procedure. No regrets.

kaila bb

Wonderful episode, things are starting to get serious. Sad there aren't many left, while looking forward to what comes next.

If Akarot does have vest phylacteries can we call them the vestiges of his soul

tacticalgrandma

The real question- was akarot's vest a long performance fleece one?

tacticalgrandma

Mehhh

Luna need to come back!!!

Plot twist: akarot gets trapped in antique anal beads

Hthr

I think Luna from the Tales from the Crick saga is gonna make a comeback and save Bev and Erlend

Akoroth: 🎡 I've still got a lot of phylacteries 🎡

Guys I have just one thorn about the end of Akaroth for this campaign : You guys never brought back the Kylo Ren doll from 8 bits Book Club! It would have been hilarious to hear its lines as Akaroth.

Garga Lenoir

Not even gonna lie, I was SOBBING at the repeated "touch hands" and it's so weird to imagine, at the beginning, it was such a funny joke, and it made for such an incredibly dramatic moment. Bravo, Caldwell!

Liz Ruifrok

I just want the Naddpod to know that Tucson has a ton of D&D nerds and we would gladly support y'all. Hell I made 7 Naddpoles in the past couple weeks here.

Casey White

So seeing as Jake did so well opening for the Short Rest when is he gonna be DMing a one shot? I think he would do really well!

Amy Driver

Murph and Caldwell almost murdered a man with his permission

Matthew Steinmetz

My Hardshine suspicions have been raised again 🧐

Whitney Peterson

The tabletopping story holy shit hahaha

Theodore Carraro

I absolutely love the running joke about Jake's marriage

Thomas Friedlander

You missed a joke. Akarot Roadshow

Connor Proudfoot

This is ridiculous.

Stephen β€œcan Rage last for four years” C

On the issue of Bev and his dead Pelor, I'm pretty sure paladins get their power more from their belief than from their god directly, so it makes sense that he can still use his spells. Don't know what to say about Erlin though.

Kimberly Schultz

Hi! I mentioned that couter could be level 7 from the day on the orginal post. Looking back I forgot about balnor lol, so let me redo the math. Since a Tarrasque is worth 155,000 XP and their were 7 members of the party: Moonshine, Hardwon, Beverly, Mavrice, Apple, BALNOR (I forgot about him lol) and Couter. 155,000 divided equally between the 7 means each gets 22,142 xp. To get to level 7 you need 23,000 Xp. So, in total Couter would be level 6, and ALMOST 7. I forgot about Balnor and I accept my fate that the council of elders decides.

Amber Reese

xp gets split between everyone who participated in combat!

Kestrel

Was just looking at the Epic Monster Card for the Tarrasque and apparently it's worth 155,000XP, and I just looked it up and it takes 129,400XP to get to level 9, so if Cooter can just get another 38,400XP while defending the city, he could be level 10 by the end of the day.

Michael McDougall

Murph did say something along the lines of β€œyou use all of Pelor’s divine power” about the Revivify, which is...ominous at best

Kestrel

Wow! Jake takeover! I wasn't ready for it. I've seen mutiny, but this is ridiculous.

Aaron Crary

If Pelor is actually gone Beverly should try to prey to the Dusk Mommy especially since she's Pelor's daughter.

Justin Harris

I just want to say Caldwell is the best freaking actor. Him screaming touch hands to save Erlin is chilling!

RJ Schoeneck

Did Moonshine have InVESTiture of Wind (or any of the other Investitures) stocked today?

Max Cooper

"speak for yourself" hoooly fuck i'm dead

some loser

Man, I wish I could say I was, that makes a lot more sense ~ Moonshine

Not Another D&D Podcast

Maybe Emily was thinking of Roger from Hellboy

Lungless

So if Pelor is dead, and Beverly's magic isn't working, than he shouldn't have been able to revivify Erlin, therefore, Pelor can't be dead.

Michael McDougall

Yugo makes sense now, IT WAS THE VEST!! He was an Acarot body all along lol πŸ˜‚

Michael K Merkle

This has been this weeks, short vest.

lildevil567

I figured Emily heard chest and thought vest

Sam Johnston

I bend the knee.

Liz Ruifrok

We are not worthy.

Casey White

Woot!
