Such a dramatic episode amongst all the humor. It really hits hard even knowing what's coming. Just wanted to say thanks Murph for making such a good story and thanks to the Boobs for making such great characters

eh, Balnor ultimately will do whatever the party tells him to. He was tearing up the dance floor with a frost dwarf lady and I'd argue it would've been odd and out of character for him to stop entirely what he was doing to follow Hardwon into a private moment apropos of nothing, especially since Moonshine and Bev were watching the hallway at the time

I want to just say how glad I am that this worked out so unintentionally perfect narratively. If PawPaw hadn’t been there, Hardwon would have been caught in an empty tower with his ex-lover’s dead body, with the murder weapon, and a note addressed from him to sneak away from her couriers, at a party he wasn’t invited to, days before her wedding! His friends were distracted and he finally got what he had been longing for. It was the perfect frame-job.

Reincarnate would have had all kinds of interesting possibilities. Chances are she wouldn't have ended up a dwarf so she could have gone off and lived her own life like she wanted. Revivify was also a possibilty in the first few minutes, its a 3rd level Paladin spell. Though this is more interesting narrativewise, and I kind of doubt they would have had the diamonds on them the spell uses.

I think Hardwon would be able to take on an assassin barehanded. He'd withstand the two hits and grapple the shit out of a dwarf, something he has tons of experience with at the dwarphanage. And then paw paw woulda got Moonshine and Bev.

Murph discussed how dangerous a fight with the assassin would have been without Hardwon's weapons, but he is Athletic AF and there's a possible scenario in which Hardwon perceived the assassin and grappled them. Maybe giving away that he is present but also having successfully saved Gemma and captured her attacker. Grappling is an underused mechanic, including on NADDPOD. I wanna hear more BoB grappling! #endrant All in all this was one of my all-time favorite episodes!
