Q

Diran Ekitai

that description of rosaline is SO sick

Finn

I’m glad someone else noticed this

Scott Dabundo

Did anyone notice that when they went to the Elemental Chaos that the safe word was Berry, but Murph says 'Berry Juice' as Uku when they've only been there for a couple of minutes and he doesn't disappear 😂

Sarah Wilson

Murph should have had Martha hooking up with a Pebblepot.

Cooper Erikson

YAY! MISTBORN TRILOGY! ❤️

Micayla Towe

Sick dwarf. 100% sick dwarf.

NursingWounds

Sick dwarf

Alex Jones

With murphs comment about aragorn saying samwise was his son, he did describe the haflings to the riders of rohan they would be only children in your eyes

Evilbob02

I am living for how much Emily hates the shipping of Moonshine & Balnor 😂

Julie V Eckert

I just imagine it as a regular sword with Strike True written on it in elvish and an eye on the handle

Castaway

Their take on what Rosaline looked like is pretty cool. I always imagined it as Rose Quartz’s pink sword from Steven Universe

Andy H

This was probably one of my favorite episodes. I don't think i've laughed that hard in a while. :P

Stefan Maroni

Is Caldwell serious about not knowing whether to get disguise self or feather fall?? YOU FELL OUT OF A TOWER! YOU BROKE YOUR DANG WALKING STICKS!!! Get feather fall.

katie ricketts

I believe they've said that it was a requirement for the Watchman staying on the material plane that his power dies with him, so it couldn't be taken by mortals.

Devin Awe

Do comments on old short rests get read? I'm curious if it was possible to absorb the watchman (power) not his all seeing ability but his all around power, earlier in the series you guys talked about how Thalia became a "God" by killing a "God"(devil)

Nathan Poulson

I need this to have happened. I need it bad.

Captain Peggy Carter

I actually made a halfling character whose whole gimmick was that he disguised himself as a human child to sneak around. I don't see why Beverly can't do the same.

Poké-Chap

thanks

Cassiel

Ooo. If someone says "That's a halfling, not an elf." When they claim He's their son, have Moonshine or Hardwon cover Bev's ears and explain that Bev doesn't know he's adopted. And have Balnor wait in the Stormborn, holding the bags.

Tukaru

My plan: Have Hardwon go by Elias Stormborn at the wedding and then have Moonshine as his new wife. Have Beverly pretend to be Moonshine's son. This would imply that Hardwon not only moved on, but now has a little blended family.

Tukaru

After last episode anybody else feel like Murph needs to check the balance on all the dice. <a href="https://youtu.be/VI3N4Qg-JZM" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/VI3N4Qg-JZM</a>

A. Godfrey

pretty sure it's a feat - a special ability you can select instead of spending an ability point to level up strength or dexterity

Just Alex

Where did Hardwone get his luck points again? i forgot

Cassiel

im glad i wasnt the only one who thought this

Tye De Yoe

I agree I felt bad about it right through his death. Still do.

Matt Kowalski

Since Fireball and Mirror Image are not concentration spells, Tonathan is free to cast them without breaking Bless.

David Donnel

It makes sense to kill the Watcher but I would have had a hard time doing it, because I'm always against the whole "this person has the POTENTIAL to be bad/used for evil, so it needs to be destroyed". Lots of fiction organizations and "good guys" use that logic to justify all kinds of atrocities. But its a good thing The Watcher was a bit of a tool and not, say, a little Creek elf Girl.

Tye De Yoe

Hey I went to check the wording on lucky it's not that Hardwon has to use it before he rolls he has to use it before he finds out if he succeeds or fails. So if he rolls a 12 he has to decide to use it before Murph tells him if he hit.

J Harkins

The Beverly adoption idea is pretty solid. That holds more water than sickly dwarf, or Elf/Human child.

Jeremy Umpleby

That would have been so much worse than any of Hardwon's secrets! omg!

Jacob Hillman

Was anyone else worried that the Watchman was going to reveal who Moonshine's real mother is? Would have sucked to take the ambiguity out of it, but certainly would have changed the tone of this fight! (Also might have got Murph murdered by Emily IRL haha)

Dave Consolazio

Maw Maw STRIKE TRUE

Jacob Hillman

I think the Hardwon and Moonshine should just introduce Bev with the truth, "Oh this is just a boy we met in a barfight who we kept around on our adventures of drugs and murder". Then, when there is stunned silence, they just laugh and say "of course that's a joke, he's just our sickly dwarf son". People will believe it as plausible by comparison.

James Ekstrom

Has the group ever considered doing a twitch stream or YouTube episode? I would love to see the faces of the Band of Boobs after some of those crazy rolls this episode.

Otherborn

Of course, Murph has always held that his homebrew is crafted for 'entertaining radio' and to quote him, don't @ me ;) I only posted this due to the surprising amount of speculation in this thread, without a simple reference to the rule in question, despite Murph's numerous statements that he DGAF about RAW and will just make what he thinks is fun, entertaining, and quick be more important than crunchy adherence to the rules. I absolutely LOVE Murph's DM style. His homebrew is so entertaining and I always feel like a bad DM listening to this incredible podcast!

Cyborg Version of Josh the Kobold

You guys had the lucky feat right! It reads "You can choose to spend one of your luck points AFTER you roll the die, but before the outcome is determined."

Jacob Hillman

It's up to the DM. Murph is the only god who really matters in Bahumia

Jordan Lyons

OH MY GOD. I'm so happy Murph is reading Mistborn. Such a great series. My ears perked up since Sanderson has been my most recent obsession. Also I hope they do the Lucky feat correctly

MeteorJuice

I gotta agree with Murph that people just know about Halflings and simply having him as an adopted child would make the most sense in a Deception attempt. That said in my imagination I'd guess a Halfling child would more easily pass as a Half-elf child than a Dwarf child.

Cyborg Version of Josh the Kobold

Hey Murph! If you want some cool variant clothing rules, then you should check out these rules made by Mage Hand Press at the Middle Finger of Vecna blog. <a href="http://mfov.magehandpress.com/2018/05/dungeon-chic-and-elven-haute-couture.html" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://mfov.magehandpress.com/2018/05/dungeon-chic-and-elven-haute-couture.html</a> They've also got some cool, albeit silly, feats for the fashion forward adventurer as well. <a href="http://mfov.magehandpress.com/2018/09/feats-for-fashionistas.html" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://mfov.magehandpress.com/2018/09/feats-for-fashionistas.html</a> They've got tons of other cool base classes, subclasses, a fantasy sports game called Siegeball, and tons of other things. Check them out! I'm one of their higher Patreon supporters, so if you want a preview of any of their full supplements let me know. I will ask them on their private discord if they don't mind me shooting one of their PDFs your way first, but I am confident that they won't mind the free advertising of you using some of their paid products.

Matthew Atkins

Throw more enemies at them to balance the combat, maybe homebrew some reasons why having more of them up is a hindrance so they can't just focus the boss down and convince them to join their group.

Connor Proudfoot

Love the show, would like to see more seperated / 1 v 1 fights like Beverly vs crag / when they entered the fog in the crik

The Plum

Why thank you

Cormac O'Connor

You can definitely use a luck point after the roll, according to the rules. Right? That’s how I read the rule cited by Joshua Small above.

Alex Park

For the names, I agree whole heartedly. For the Jake killing line? God damn that would have been perfect.

Connor Proudfoot

Emily, please call the sword Joleyne or Marabelle, or something like that. Honour the Crick, but more importantly honour your mothers, speaking if which, you could even call it something like water mummy. This is the best podcast I've ever listened to. Also Jake, it would have been really cool when you killed the watchman if you said, "Hey Watchman... WATCH THIS!"

Cormac O'Connor

I mean, Beverly’s still young so he could be a half human child? But no way is he a sickly dwarf

Emily

Moonshine can use Polymorph on Bev to make him a half elf human son or a dwarf son.

Jeffrey Steck, Lord of the Fjord

i think you could pass him off as a sick dwarf. just glue some "spare" body hair to his face, so it looks like he has a patchy beard.

Waylon Peters

I can't believe Hardwon didn't say "Hey Watchman, watch this!" as he killed him. Missed opportunity. Great ep though!

Kevin Alman

That said I absolutely LOVE Murph's DM style. His homebrew is so entertaining and I always feel like a bad DM listening to this incredible podcast! I can't wait for a Bay Area Live show!

Cyborg Version of Josh the Kobold

Lucky (DnD5e PHB Ch. 6, p. 167, "Feats") You have inexplicable luck that seems to kick in at just the right moment. You have 3 luck points. Whenever you make an attack roll, an ability check, or a saving throw, you can spend one luck point to roll an additional d20. You can choose to spend one of your luck points after you roll the die, but before the outcome is determined. You choose which of the d20s is used for the attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. You can also spend one luck point when an attack roll is made against you. Roll a d20, and then choose whether the attack uses the attacker’s roll or yours. If more than one creature spends a luck point to influence the outcome of a roll, the points cancel each other out; no additional dice are rolled. You regain your expended luck points when you finish a long rest.

Cyborg Version of Josh the Kobold

Tinkle is my HERO!!! Tonathan 4 lyfe!!!!

Thomas Monti

Jake has been using the Lucky feat correctly, I’m not sure who said it was being used wrong. You do get to look at the first roll before you decide, it just has to be before the outcome. And he can also use a luck point to change the attack roll from an attacker and switch them out, similar to a portent roll.

Steven Coleman

I think everyone in Irondeep would be less confused about Beverly being Hardwon's son, and more focused why he would date a beardless woman.

Griffen Bier

The safe word berries was said by tonathan at 12:45 in the elemental chaos :(

kenji harada

Third on Brad's post. My character has Luck and that's how we've been doing it.

M Scott Anderson

To be fair, the wedding infiltration is probably the most reasonable time they've ever tried to pass Beverly off as their kid. Since they would need to explain why they have a child with them. And the slightly-pointy halfling ears would probably just look like an even younger half-elf. Just instead of a halfling teen a half-elf like little kid. Or they yeah could just pretend they adopted a halfling boy. Either way it isn't that stupid this time for them to think of having to pretend Beverly is their kid so they don't show up and tell the truth which was "We met this kid as his boyscout camp and just sort of kept him."

Sheri Stonefield

Seconding what Brad said above, Lucky can be used after the roll. Great episode, I always love hearing the “what if” stuff that gets brought up. :)

Elizabeth Lees

Great ep! Also, the Lucky feat is kind of a mix between what you said here and what you've been doing. You can use it after you roll, but before you know if it's a success or not. So if you roll a 1, sure, you know that's a failure. but if you roll say a 13 on a saving throw, you might not be sure whether or not that passes or fails and have to decide. Also, you can use it on an attack against you, which is pretty cool.

Brad Donaldson

Bev's definitely a half-elf tot

Danni Sizzle

A baby half-elf would probably look like a halfling! #bringbabybev

Victor martin

Bev is a human child. It's great to hear Murph is constantly getting WHOMPED IRL too.

Don Etzkorn

Beverly looks like a small sickly human kid over a dwarf any day! Haha

Frederick Weisenberger II

The Band shouldn’t have had Bless while Tonathan was casting fireballs and mirror image due to concentration. I don’t mind at all, because I play homebrew in this way as well, but I think that’s why the Band did so well against the Watchman. Murph, ya rocked yourself!

Dantizzle

I love that Tonathan had Mirror Image, it's a favorite spell of mine. I used it with an arcane trickster rogue build, and since being a rogue is pretty much a fantasy ninja I loved saying the Naruto "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" whenever I used it

Sam Campos

Working my way back up to it. I'm re-listening to the Cutthroat Chronicles

Goneoff

Such a fun episode! Nathan is an amazing guest.

LarkyV

Great episode

Paddy Flynn

I listened to it on Spotify just there

Paddy Flynn

(I don't see the episode on the podcast feed either)

Tris Oaten

I don't see the episode this shirt rest comes after - where is episode 33? ❤️
