The R4 team I'm most attached to is PRC <PAC RACING CLUB>. This team is sponsored by Namco, and I was able to grow as a rookie by being trained in Namco's R4 team. 🏎🔰
When I first joined the R4 team, I was a total amateur who had never made a single dance music song. I didn't know what to study or how to study, and I knew for sure that I wouldn't be able to make music by just sitting at my desk in the office. So I just devoured music sources and followed my seniors' example and went to clubs on weekends... While I had to rush everything, I was also a guitarist in a band in my private life, and if anything, I think I improved more in making guitar phrases...
However, that alone was not enough to compete with fans who were accustomed to the powerful music of their predecessors, so I began studying the music I had always loved - jazz, R&B, and hip-hop - so that I could use it as a composer, even though it was not the dance music of the time and I believe that these were its roots.
If you compare the recordings that were rejected early on with the final released recordings, you can easily hear things like, "The chords that were so lame now have the right voicing!" or "They've got a sense of groove!", so it may be useful for comparing one person's learning process.
