WARNING! SPOILERS! [SCENT SIMULATOR PLACE HOLDER SPRITE SHEET:PON] [BUNS OF STEEL MINI GAME] [BRITNI PIKE SPRITE SHEET WIP]

I meant to post this right after the stream the other day, but I got super busy! But hey, better late than never, right? The scent simulator is coming along pretty well. We’re still working on it. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes, and my programmer has his own life, so development has been slower than I’d like. HOWEVER, when I said the game is basically "done," I wasn’t kidding. The core framework, the engine, and the drag-and-drop moding functionality are all in place. What we’re focusing on now are secondary tasks, like the mini-game "BUNS OF STEEL" and the game-over screens. While he's coding, I'm working on assets. We’ve finished this sprite sheet (it’s just a placeholder for now; the final version will be in color and use vector brushes instead of binary). So, say hello to Pon!

WHATS NEW?

We’re currently working on the next big feature in the game: the mini-game! As mentioned before, there's a chance your gas meter will max out, and instead of losing right away, you can dive into a frantic mini-game where you spam the spacebar. By doing this, you’ll prevent Pon (or whichever character you're playing as) from... well, you know....shitting themselves and ending your run. There’s going to be a mini-game for each character, which should be a lot of fun.

But don’t get too comfortable with this feature! It’s not something you can abuse. After using your first “Buns of Steel” save, the chance to trigger the mini-game is randomized, so you can’t just keep clenching to survive forever. The question is: do you risk it for the biscuit, or play it safe?

What’s the incentive to even enter the mini-game? Well, if you overeat and Pon gets a ton of gas, instead of losing right away, you get a chance to save the run. Plus, there’s a flat bonus for surviving the mini-game! So, even if you're pushing your luck, there’s a reward for pulling through.
