Future gameplay elements

I started the design for this game with 3 main elements in mind: branching narrative, investigation sequences, and action sequences. I'd like to elaborate on these for a bit.

The branching narrative part includes the main story with all of its choices, skill checks, earning skill experience, and smex. This is the base of the game and its glue, what supports the other sequences.

Investigation sequences will be a more point-and-click adventure experience, where you'll need to find the truth of a matter by looking for clues and piecing information together. I intend to have several ways of achieving this according to the player's current stats.

Finally, action sequences will be a series of challenges where you make certain decisions to determine the outcome. This is a bit vague, so let me give an example. You're being chased down the corridor and enter a room. There's a key in the door, so you can lock it behind you, but it doesn't look like it'll hold for long. If your strength stat is high enough, you can drag a heavy object in front of a door to buy yourself more time. Alternatively, if your endurance is high enough, you can just keep running to increase the distance. If you've read any interactive fiction, it's very similar to that.

Now, day 1 only contains the first part--branching narrative, but the other two sequences are intended for the next two days, investigation during day 2, and action during day 3.

Hope that was informative.

Thanks! Glad you liked it. Stats will change the way you'll go about resolving an investigation. Maybe someone with a high persuasion stat can get a witness to talk, for example, while others would have to find other ways to get to the truth. It's very likely I'll have an option to skip the investigation completely as some players dislike puzzle mechanics, but that may cause some subtleties to be lost in the process.

Chapter 1 was great, nice job! Will it be possible to lose challenges or miss stuff during investigations due to stat choices, or is it mostly for flavour?
