Taylor Swift - Debut

Taylor Swift - Debut

Comments

This is like my 3rd time watching this video bc i simply love country taylor so much! while re-watching, i thought about a video essay on youtube a girl put together called the untold story of taylor swift. it's around 2 hours long and i always watch it like a documentary. it's nothing like a common regular documentary, its actually filled with research and its a very deep dive into her early career, all the songs and experiences she had even before this album. it delves into so many unreleased songs and how one thing led up to another thing and then another thing. it would be nice to watch your reaction to that video one day bc it's all about songwriting and i think your channel addresses that aspect of her music/any music by any artist pretty well. hello from hong kong btw! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XMQ6OXnDes&t=4112s

Mary’s song has been my favorite song since I heard it when I was 13 in 2006. Still tear up when I hear it

Cassandra

We all know and love it!!

MightyMike

Not me being called out…while doing exactly that move 😂😂

Meagan Muller

Wait I could play music out loud…? 👀 Who knew lol. I had my flower power portable CD player that I played this album on 😂

Meagan Muller

I would LOVE one more new Taylor country album. Where’s @taylornation? Pass along the message 😂

Meagan Muller

We NEEEEED I’d Lie 😭🤞🏼

Meagan Muller

20 seconds into Tim McGraw and I’m unwell 😭 This has been my favorite part of this channel. Thanks for giving my favorite girl a chance 🥹 Brb gonna go cry for another hour and a half listening to you guys discover the album that made me love her first. Love you guys so damn much 🩵

Meagan Muller

I’m not ready 😭

Meagan Muller

Did y'all do Speak Now?

Austin Stewart

Did you react to Journey to Fearless tour?

Richard

You really need to react to the music videos and the live performance of Should've said no at the Country music awards. I am an OG fan and I am really waiting for Taylor’s version. I am always going back to this classic album.

Richard

My favorite new tidbit about Mary’s song, whether or not Travis is around for the long haul, is that his jersey number is 87 and she was born in 89. Such a weird coincidence but she played with that in a surprise song during eras tour. Clearly a nod to him

Molly C

Glad to say I’ve been here since day 1 🥹🥹 we made it!! Btw tearsdrops on my guitar was my surprise song in Hamburg night 1 it was amazing ❤️ specially with her mature voice!!

Zainab Alqallaf ✨

You should check out Kelsea Ballerini she is very similar to Tayor and just got nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the ACMs. She has an EP about her divorce with a short film called "Rolling Up The Welcome Mat." The songwriting is wild.

Cam

Alot of her new stuff to me is still country just with the story telling. On TTPD the new album, there's actually a few songs that are very country. She likes to combine all the genres. This is a great album though, love seeing it get some love!

Cam

It's really refreshing to see a positive reaction to this album. Debut tends to get discredited or just written off because it's her first album but I love it so much. It will always hold a special place in my heart as it was her only album when I discovered her.

Liz Marie

I think it's time for you to react to her music videos. Why not if it helps increase your subscription? It's a great way to expand your collection since the views and comments on her reactions are always higher than other artists.

Hung

You should definitely check them out!

Aloha Record Sargent

😮

Michael

I’ve probably seen 2-3 taylor music videos ever

Michael

Thank you so much

Michael

Going through her music videos is a great suggestion thank you

Michael

Ahhhh yes! That was so good

Michael

The way I'm going to cry over "Tim McGraw featuring Tim McGraw (Taylor's Version)"

Cass

It’s been such a great experience and journey watching you guys from knowing nothing about Taylor to becoming true fans! Thank you for taking us on this journey with you!!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Caitlin Green

She wrote “Our Song” for her 8th grade talent show when she was 14!

Sarah

I’ve been dying for you both to hear Mary’s song for so long!!

Sarah

its just fng crazy that she does this and does it so well so young. prodigy stuff.

Mark Barnwell

Oh, also, you guys loved the "Grammy Museum" performance of Out of the Woods, but did you ever watch the rest of the songs from that same set? She also did Wildest Dreams on electric guitar, and Blank Space and How You Get the Girl on acoustic guitar. Highly recommend the whole set, especially Wildest Dreams!

Aloha Record Sargent

Great video! Regarding your question at the end, have you reacted to all her music videos? I'm not sure if you sprinkled those in with the album reactions, but if not, you could do all of them, as well as any behind the scenes! I also agree with suggestions for Making of a Song.

Aloha Record Sargent

she was 16 when this came out. all the songs were written 12-16! the outside she wrote at 12, our song was her freshmen year!

Caroline Connelly

i would be so fun to do music videos from this era! theres like 4 and its soo nostalgic

Caroline Connelly

Losing baby tay will actually break my heart 😭😭

Meagan Muller

Fearless will always be my favorite but this was my intro to Taylor and is so nostalgic, she could really blow my socks off with the re-record of this one more than any of the others…I need the I’d Lie vault track 😅

Storm

i suggest lover live in paris and her mvs! and reputation the making of a song and fearless and 1989 tour! anything! i love your taylor reactions, they are my favorite content on the internet, really.

Emilie

i've been here since folklore and this is such an emotional video :') i'll have to make it a debutation night and rewatch your rep reaction. can't wait for the next re-recording or ts12, so i can listen to it with you 💜

Emilie

i would LOVE if they reacted to her music videos!!

Emilie

watching this back with you reminds me how amazing debut is! i've been watching you guys since the first reaction on folklore and love how deeply you've come to appreciate taylor! would love a bracket video!! ❤️

niccala

I also love Lizzy Mcalpine’s 2022 album, Five Seconds Flat. Think you all would too!

Bella B

Listening to y’all talk about the older videos is making me want to go back and listen to them all again. I’ll probably do that this week.

Teresa Salas

This is such an enjoyable album. I can’t wait to hear how she handles the re-record.

Teresa Salas

Voting for a reaction to the 1989 World Tour!

April Green

Taylor has a "making of a song" series where she has some behind the scenes of her creative process behind some of the reputation album. I think you guys would enjoy that!

April Green

Omg guys, Taylor actually did weddings, i think for friends and fans too. Only with her guitar and piano. And for free (i believe).😁

Art3miS

Pretty sure "the extra tracks" are from the deluxe version of the album. Also, love the bracket idea!

April Green

I thought dad would like Mary's song! She was neighbors with an old couple and was inspired by their story.

April Green

As far as suggestions go besides that link I posted before…. Since you like that Grammy museum performance so much… there’s a whole thing of it where she does a few performances and talks about the process of creating 1989 and her career up until that point. Also journey to fearless that you could find on YouTube is the Fearless tour plus some documentary footage that would be interesting. I know you just went through a whole journey of her album albums, it might be a little Taylor ed out lol, but I thought I’d just put some of the stuff here if you want to revisit some of the other albums.

Laurasr618

ooooh, debut??? what an incredible surprise! 💚

Kristen

Also, it would be fun to watch y'all react to some of Taylor's earlier tours that are recorded, like 1989, Speak Now, & Fearless. Also watching her music videos could be fun as well, now that you know all her songs ☺️

Sophia Sanchez

Yes!! The one that started it all!!! This album is amazing for a debut; it really holds a special place in my heart. My favorite track is Mary's Song. It feels like a quintessential Taylor song: the storytelling, the love story, the bridge, the lyricism 🤩 I'm so excited for Taylor's Version of this album, especially the vault tracks 🥹 Thanks for this reaction!!

Sophia Sanchez

Love this!

bella diana

Ahhh can’t wait to see your reactions to Mary’s Song ☺️

ashley bentley

Teardrops On My Guitar is still one of my all time favorite Taylor songs! It's up there with Mirrorball and But Daddy I Love Him.. just can't get over how good the melodies are!

Hayden Smith

You should show your dad this performance it’s insaneeeee https://youtu.be/ZqljHLwqjSo?si=_IvCKoKhxOESludn

Laurasr618

Also, I don’t know if you guys remember, but you heard should’ve said no and bad blood mashed up on the rep tour! Maybe that’s why you vaguely remember it!

Laurasr618

That sucks!!! It’s pouring over here too, hope your day is a good one today! ✌🏻

Michael

Ugh I got woken up at 2am by our smoke alarm chirping for a battery change and had to trudge out in the pouring rain to get our dirty ass soaking wet ladder and drag it across my freshly cleaned floors and I was committed to being in a bad mood today but this turned it all around haha now I’m boppin around with my headphones steam mopping and feeling giddy haha thanks!

Mandi

I was 14 when this album came out and I remember LOVING it, even my dad was impressed by it. Relistening now, I’m even more blown away. Country is such a good tone for her voice - I love her cover of Run too, you should check it out!

Chaney Hambrick

I get so sad when I realize that at the end of the re-recordings the youngest we will hear Taylor is lover 😭😭

Laurasr618

That’s pretty genius

Michael

yay!!!! Love y'all!!! by the way, not sure if you say this later in the video, the male voice on Tim McGraw isn't him (it's her producer). There's a lot of fun lore surrounding the song haha, but overall it was pretty smart of Taylor and her team to make her debut single be titled the name of a HUGE country artist at the time. Presumably it helped her gain traction with that song!! Love y'all's content! :)

Caroline V

screaming crying and throwing up

Emilie

immediately got here after seeing the notification... yes go debut my favourite album!!!!!!

JAZLIU Jasper

all of a sudden, i love monday morning. thank you guys!!
