2024-09-19 13:23:32 +0000 UTCthis is my fourth listen. i totally get the artistry. everything is done so very well. its just not fitting into my world at this time in my life. 64 y o man here. the sound mix production is very cool. good buzz on listening with yall. cuff it is so damn good. you cant not move. head swinging. this is what i expect from mature artist though, reaching, experimenting, pushing boundaries and being true to oneself. i will always listen.

I went to the tour and it was perhaps the best night of my life lmao literally everything was so perfect. but imo homecoming is her best performance of all time so i’m very much looking forward to y’all reacting to it 👀

Beyonce mentioned she was inspired by her uncle Johnny (she mentions him at the end of heated) who sadly passed of aids a while back. But he was into the whole ballroom scene and designed clothes for her 🥺The original sample used in pure/honey is an actual song made by a drag queen named Kevin Aviance . The song is called “cunty” this album was huge for the queer community we heard the influence right away 😂

A lot of this album was inspired by her Uncle Johnny, he was a gay man who was very close with Beyoncé, her mom, and her sister. He also made a ton of her clothes, including her prom dress! He (and Bey’s mom Tina) made many of Destiny’s Child stage outfits as well. Uncle Johnny passed due to aids during the height of the epidemic. He was big in ballroom culture, one of the only places a Black gay man would feel welcomed in the 80as/90s, which also invented house music. You’ll hear him name dropped on Heated. This is a love letter to LGBTQ+ communities, NYC, ballroom culture, dancing, joy, freedom, and especially her uncle Johnny!

CC is much heavier and requires some thoughts about disturbing realities and discrimination, plus it still had remnants of lemonade and her problems in her marriage. Renaissance is a celebration of self, community, joy, and expression!

Post Malone made his first country album and has nominations, but “Beyoncé doesn’t belong in country”. I’m from KY and from my old classmates I’ve seen gross posts about Beyoncé not “belonging” and the only basis is her race when compared to other artists who have genre bended or switched into country. Beyoncé literally predicted it in American Requiiem and they are following it like a script!

It’s so genius but it even took me a few listens, I really fell in love when I saw it live though.
