Taylor Swift - The Anthology

Taylor Swift - The Anthology

Comments

Much appreciation and love to you Patrons who are trying to help them 'get it', but I just don't have the patience for it. It's sad that this is so misunderstood. Saying opinions are "mixed" is just a cowardly euphemism for "I didn't get it". This album isn't meant to be bangers and hits and it's reductive of her talent to expect that from her. I can count on one hand the # of "reactors" that put in a serious effort. This wasn't one of those. Edit: I came back to say sorry for being so harsh. It's a first listen to a complex album. First reactions can be so wrong. I hope you'll take the time to revisit and reassess in the future.

Tinwhistle

Agh feels like a lot went over your guys’ heads on both videos, or you were holding onto not being interested/engaging in the lyrics. Maybe over time things have clicked on this album for you!

avery

I feel like TTPD is am album that you have to listen to multiple times because of the amount of songs. The first time I listened to it, I did like it but I felt so overwhelmed. After the first few complete listens, it's now my favourite Taylor album

Avy

It’s funny I think the albatross describes a specific feeling and situation that happened to her during her life many times.

Kim

i keep coming back to this video just to see your reaction to the prophecy and how you were so amazed by the lyrics that you just had to read it like a poem, that’s exactly how i reacted too 🥲 it has become my favorite ts song of all time, it’s just SO beautiful and honest

Gabriela Ferrari Toquetti

ok, after that comment about bridgerton i need series react with your dad

katherine

Please please please, react to her NPR tiny desk concert!! You will love all about it, from the explanations about the songs (including something about her dad!) to the raw performances

Georgiana B.

I’m so here for the prophecy appreciation omg absolutely one of her best

Isabel S

well they loved Lover, so who knows?

sleepless_dream

The Albatross has a very interesting story. The lyrics have deep meaning and it's related to the story of the 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner' "In this poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, a sailor shoots an albatross that had been a sign of good luck, which brings a curse upon his ship. As punishment, he is forced to wear the albatross around his neck as a reminder of his mistake. The albatross becomes a symbol of regret and burden." many say that it's about how in her relationships people say that she's a bad omen and brings bad things to her significant other, meanwhile she tells her significant other that he's going to have to deal with the mob outside raining fire on him and if he wants to be with her he has to choose this terrible danger with her. the ending is about how she's not actually a bad omen like the sailors say, but she's a good omen. the language is flowery but it's definitely telling a story, for one thing, the "repeating" lyrics change throughout the song.

sleepless_dream

Robin is about aaron desners son who’s name is Robin

Cindy Melgar

It's always so interesting to watch these reactions from listeners who don't know all the nuances of her story and what certain lyrics refer to. It'd be interesting to have you re-visit some of these songs after learning more about them to see if your perspective changes at all.

Jennifer Mays

not realizing thank you aimee is about kim kardashian is so silly. i love watching people who don’t know the lore listen to taylor sometimes is frustrating to see something go over yalls head but it’s also so refreshing

rebecca pierce

The Anthology is truly the part of the album I consistently replay. The whole thing is gorgeous and beautifully written. Glad you guys liked it!

Angel Ordonez Flores

So high school is meant to bring the teenagers feelings. It sounds like something we would hear at the end of an early 2000s roncom! So i dont think she made it for new teen girls (they dont watch american pie lol). It was all about the nostalgia that her new lover brings her.

Aline Suxx

I signed up for this video!!! So glad you guys enjoyed it. Def one of her best! Hope you watch the long pond soon 🥰

Aline Suxx

Not me reading this while they are listening to Prophecy

Melissakay503

For me The Prophecy is THE best song on the whole Anthology. 🔥

Art3miS

How many times will I start this reaction at “thanK you aIMee” and watch it through for background endorphins while I’m working late? The limit does not exist!

Sarah

Apologies if someone's already said this, but I haven't seen a lot of people bring up the meaning behind The Albatross! I get what your dad says about it feeling more imagery forward than story forward, but it does very much have a narrative to it that's relevant to her: it's about how her fame affects those around her. The albatross is not just representative of a problem or regret that weighs on you, the bird is also a sign of both good and bad luck among sailors. However, an albatross is only bad luck if you shoot it down. She characterises herself as the albatross, the bad omen everyone warns those around her (especially boyfriends) against, when in fact she only becomes a bad omen once wronged herself -- and she can, in fact, be a great shield and aid to those she loves when times get tough, since she's "been there too" and she knows how to handle the spotlight. I know its more obscure as far as songs go and most will just take it at face value for the imagery (which is fine, I think the imagery is beautiful), but it's one of my favourite extended metaphors of hers and I've always loved the symbolism of the albatross. So I hope this was somewhat interesting at least!

Reva

lol you paid to be this upset? It’s their channel and they will interpret the music based on their understanding and life experience.. obviously, they don’t have every angle of the story the way us Swifties do, but they are genuinely engaged in the music and give great feedback. I promise it’s not that serious my friend 💗

Brianna

I think it makes sense for her to write So High School. Travis has that energy of freshness of younger years. I love the beat and the feeling of nostalgia. Btw, another great reaction! ☺️ (I’m dying to know what’s Mike’s favorite U2 album)

Larissa Merlo

the prophecy is the BEST track! you guys aren’t alone on that. THE. BEST. TRACK!

Julia Alves

Yes I agree. Lacy's language shows her lack of intelligence.

Richard

Oh my god. Such negative thoughts. You guys don't get many of the songs. Taylor is not singing as a teenager. Don't you get that So high school is about TRAVIS. Her relationship with him makes her feel like a TEENAGER. Not her being a teenager. The relationship makes her feel young.

Richard

PETER IS ABOUT PETER PAN (PETER LOSING WENDY) 👀

Jef_68

YESSS PLEASE DO LONG POND SESSIONS

Denisa

Was scrolling to find this explanation before I added it lol

Meagan Muller

your dad being a bridgerton fan is so awesome!

Laurynn

also on a note about the production sometimes sounding more fitting with the song, she has two different writing styles usually depending on the producer. aaron tends to produce a track at home and she writes over it when it's finished while the songs she does with jack are ones she originally creates on her guitar or piano at home and then he adds production later. this probably creates the difference in how well the production seems to fit the song

Avis

I don't think the good lord intended for anyone to rhyme "aristotle" with "grand theft auto" but my god does that song go hard. on paper the so high school lyrics are corny but it's such a banger

Avis

Cassandra was a Trojan princess that had the gift of prophecy, but was cursed by Apollo to never be believed by anyone. The song is about the 2016 situation with Kimye ("That's where I was when I got the call"), but also about Scooter and how he stole her music ("That's where I was when I lost it all"). Everyone was quick to cancel her in 2016, but when the full phone call leaked, no one besides the swifties said a thing, not even to apologize to her. Robin is Aaron's son. They wrote the song together.

Diana

YOU SHOULD WATCH HER TINY DESK SHOW!!!!

Cassie Olson

You are Aaron Dessner stans without realizing it - most songs on this part of the album are produced by him (as well as your favorites on the main album like So Long London). ✨

Marissa

The pop hit singer was Don Mclean and the song was American Pie. ✨ A TRIVIA: For 49 years, it held the record for the longest song to hit No 1 – until Taylor Swift's 10-minute cut, All Too Well, broke it. And Taylor sent him flowers as a sweet gesture with a note "Your music has been so important to me. Sending love one writer of long songs to another." Don Mclean posted a photo of the flowers and the note 🥹💖🫶🏼

Grace Abelita

thanK you aIMee is actually about Kim Kardashain

Bailey Lowe

omg please react to the folklore long pond sessions! in addition to the performances, taylor talks about what every song means to her and gives some behind the scenes on how she wrote it. so good!

Lizzie Todd

The language you use tells me everything I need to know. Period.

Gary

Idk man as a woman I think that song sucks ass

Lacie Marie

yes!!! PLS DO LONG POND !!!!

Austin

Based on your reaction to So High School I don't know if you guys are likely to enjoy her next album. That song is a reaction to her finding a joyful love after having her soul slowly trampled by a tough time in her life in which she seemingly was starved for love and affection. (The standard album has a lot of that stuff if you go back and listen) Given that her current life and happiness inspired So High School, I think we will most likely get a lot of that same type of emotion and playfulness that you guys find immature. I think most of us fans just see it as another part of Taylor that we love and haven't seen much of in her last few albums. I'm very interested to hear your reaction to the album Lover as that has a much more pop sound and similar emotions of love (although laced with anxiety and fear). There is the chance that she decides to make another switch in genres and finally gives us the Rock or R&B album people have been asking her for.

Andy

The Prophecy was written before So High School and is about her 6 year relationship, not a response to SHS. "Hand on the throttle" is her having to always be the one pushing for the relationship, the "cards on the table" a reference to "card sharks" and "showed your hand" in Cornelia Street, "Slow is the quicksand/Poison blood from the wound of the pricked hand" is the slow painful death of the relationship with Joe. She also references Willow later in the bridge. The "full throttle" in SHS is a direct quote/response to something Travis said in an interview in which he talked about knowing when a relationship is serious. "Brand new, full throttle" is her saying its real and she's all in. I don't think its a coincidence that a week after that interview she decided to make the relationship public. If anything, knowing Taylor, she likely took it as a good omen especially given how the relationship started.

Andy

I don't especially like So High School, but it's basically designed to evoke 2000s coming of age movies like American Pie etc, the style is pure 90s and its absolutely a callback specifically for millennials like her. Its pure teenage nostalgia lyrically and musically.

Rachel Mercer

I understand it just fine and still find it cringe. Thank you very much 🙏

Mary M

It seems like y’all enjoyed the Aaron Dessner produced tracks a lot more consistently than the Jack ones

Parker

Ah I love Bridgerton! Was so glad there was at least one taylor song in season 3. Heard rumors of a second in season 3 part 2

Molly C

She said most of this was written over two years so probably immediately as midnight wrapped she kept going

Molly C

the second half is so good. Thanks for filming this. 🤍

Amanda Kaplan

you are just not getting it 😭

Amanda Kaplan

I think dumbing down “So High School” to “bubblegum lyrics is…reductive. The way men approach love and the space that’s usually created to be honest about what is felt is different than it is for women. My gripe with your reactions is that they sometimes come across as callous. And I feel that’s because of how we men are internally programmed to dismiss that “butterflies” sort of feeling.

Gary

Dude pls get out of here acting like you know me. I’m a hopeless romantic. I’m allowed to think a song is cringey and not like it 😊 that’s not hating on her joy. I’m sure there are some Taylor songs you don’t like and that’s 100% okay because not all of us like the same thing. Have a wonderful evening!

Mary M

There are so many comments, I haven’t gone through all of them but I haven’t seen anyone go deep into Cassandra: it is indeed about the reputation era but also about her masters situation… the blood is thick line is about her old manager who she saw as a father… the family the pure greed and the Christian chorus line is the Kardashians and Kanye… if you combine this song with Who’s afraid of little old me and the lines about “they didn’t do it to hurt me but what if they did” it all comes down to: SB wanted to buy her masters, all his clients ridiculed Taylor, they thought she would break and be easy to control… but she made Reputation (when the edited call was leaked there was so much noise, when the true version was leaked nobody cared), she re-recorded her albums, SB’s career is decaying and she gets to say do you believe me now? General thought: one thing I will never do as a fan is protest that she’s giving us too much music… maybe there are songs that you don’t like, but there is not one song that is not relatable to someone out there, especially with such a huge fanbase such as Taylor’s!

Eirini

Thank you for going through this one! I’m delighted that you loved The Prophecy specifically, what an excellent track. SO stoked that you’re interested in Long Pond Sessions! Super intimate, lots of context and process talk, just a very cool watch. (Additionally, I’m humbly hoping for a reaction to Solar Power, Lorde’s 3rd album, at some point.) Really appreciate your time and energy!

Hollis

opa kkkkkk

William

algum BR por aqui?

Joyce Gabrielle Silva

Cassandra in ancient Greek mythology was a seer cursed so that no one would believe her or her visions of the future/prophecy. She was the one who tried to warn the trojans abot the giant horse being a trap and she paid for it

Aster

I really hope you read the summation she wrote for this album. It explains the two halves so well. I feel like the first half was that manic energy from two separate yrs long relationships where both promised the same dream but one was taken after 6 yrs and one after 2 weeks (10 yrs total even as friends) . The second half is just resignation that it’s over! But flickers of new love scattered throughout. Like flickering hope.

Julie Gonzales

I view this as Taylor's White Album.

Mark Barnwell

Should check out Chappell Roan!!!!

Mattie Henry

The cookie analogy y’all gave is why it’s so important to read the album prologue, she made it very clear she was experiencing mania and that’s why those songs feel the way they do.

Mandi

In The Prophecy, I take the “shades of greige” line as the album itself. All of the album art is grey/beige/sepia tones. Writing this album was the gift and the burden.

Sherry Thorn

imagine hating someone’s joy and excitement and love, couldn’t be me but you go on with your bitter ass haha that song took me straight back to my high school bf and sneaking around, using any semblance of privacy to touch and love on one another. You wouldn’t need to be touched while his boy plays grand theft auto bc you (likely) have your own home and privacy, teenagers don’t have that. And the whole song feels like an early 2000s movie, which I think the “you know how to ball I know Aristotle” line comes from, very classic teen romcom trope, smart girl dates athlete (a Cinderella story, HSM, she’s all that). I think this album is very dark and she’s sharing extreme feelings of depression, suicidal ideation, worthlessness, etc so I feel “so high school” was her reminding us “hey I’m fine now, I’m happy and giddy and having a great time”

Mandi

I’ve been waiting for days and days. Had no clue you made it only tier two until I saw someone comment on YouTube about that. Wish you would have communicated that better to us. Still excited to watch though!

Caitlin Green

The lemonade visual album could be a Patreon exclusive! And I also recommend her self titled album and those visuals could also be a Patreon exclusive. Just thinking of you guys 😊 I swear it’s not just for me 🥹😅😅

Sarah

I’d be happy with the audio and then the visual as a Patreon exclusive or something afterwards, but you’re correct it MUST include the visual album!

Sarah

I like that you go into the albums raw and not biased by fan theories. I would also enjoy a recap on how/if your initial impressions change after relistening and learning context. I know my favorites definitely adjust after a week or too. Except the Prophecy - that’s stayed top!

Michelle

Lemonade yes! But it HAS to be the visual album given that it’s the original and how she intended it to be consumed

Michelle

Plus a lot of her songs aren’t necessarily about 1 thing. An albatross in mythology was seen by sailors as good luck. However if you kill or hurt the bird, then it becomes a curse. There’s a poem referencing this “Instead of the cross, the Albatross around my neck was hung” I think it can be narrowing to go into a song

Michelle

Great reaction and insights, she is so good with aaron dessner, I hope she follows through this path, give that girl a pen and a piano/guitar, thats when she really shines.

Aline AlmReg

I did this with Whos afraid of little old me, I got the message, appreciate her putting out her feelings like that, but sonically its not for me, the live act is amazing at the eras tour, but I never listen to it and its okkkk 😂

Aline AlmReg

Yep!! Many of my favorite tracks are Taylor and Aaron, or all three of them. In the long pond studio sessions you can see his raw instrumental talent, it’s beautiful!

Sarah

That’s so cool!

Mike Mulligan

I loved this reaction!!! I’ve been a fan of Taylor for 14 years now (folklore is my fav album too) and different from you guys, I loved the first part of TTPD BUT I agree 100% with both of you: nothing is better than Taylor with a piano or a guitar telling a great emocional story. Although I loved the first part, I feel like the anthology has my whole heart, body and soul!!! Uhhh is SO good. And yes, you should definitely watch folklore: the long pond studios! Specially because you’re such a fan of the album. 😊

Mariana Moreira

omg i love that you loved the prophecy, it's one of taylor's best for sure!

Gabriela B

Yes he did 80% of folklore and evermore and in this album also along with midnights you guys preferred his tracks over Jack Antonoff. Her fans including me has a soft spot for aaron because we genuinely love his production. Taylor calls him her musical soulmate

Daisy

I really hope you react to the Long Pond Studio Sessions because you would love it and be able to better understand the whole production process and the ideas behind Folklore also thanks to the conversations between Taylor, Jack and Aaron

Irene

Ohh yes please

Irene

Since your father is a Bridgerton fan, he will be happy to know that in an episode of this season the song Snow On The Beach by Taylor and Lana del Rey was covered by the orchestra. While in the first season they covered the iconic Wildest Dreams

Irene

I hear you. Really appreciate the father son love/relationship you have happening and letting us in through these videos. And loving your deep dive into Taylor’s discography.

Teresa Jorgensen

Yes! Please react to Long Pond Studio Sessions PLEASE 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Isabella

I respectfully disagree but I understand your view. If I already love a songs sound context could for sure enhance my love for it. However if we don’t like a song at all, having context isn’t going to change the fact that we don’t like the song :)

Michael

Makes sense, probably why I loved it so much with folklore being my favorite

Michael

I don’t think we disagree that that was the point of the song, just didn’t enjoy it

Michael

The grand theft auto line was so funny 🤣 I was like huh???? 🤣

Michael

Ahhhhh that makes a lot of sense. He had a big hand in folklore as well right?

Michael

Coming up soon for sure

Michael

Absolutely love that album, one of my favorites Jack has worked on

Michael

👀

Michael

OH okay that Kim, my mind was definitely not going there but that makes a lot of sense

Michael

Oh my god Stick Season, yes!

Stefanie

Yes, the long pond sessions on Disney+ are great, but also a shorter very good video of her playing and explaining songs is the NPR tiny desk concert (on YouTube)

Teresa Jorgensen

I personally don’t think the song is about his son, I think she’s talking to her younger self. But that’s the cool thing about music, it can be interpreted differently!

Meghan Hameister

Great reaction! I feel like both albums are so complex it really does take a while to sink in. I listen to both religiously lol. In defense of 'So High School' - during the album, she mentions many times about losing her youth to a past relationship of hers ("And I'm pissed off you let me give you all that youth for free" - So Long, London), so I feel like it's very sweet she feels youthful during this new relationship (as juvenile as that may be lol). In the same song, she says, "Brand new, full throttle", and later in 'The Prophecy' she mentions, "Hand on the throttle/ Thought I caught lightning in a bottle/ Oh, but it's gone again", maybe indicating the relationship described in 'So High School' is also doomed. Taylor is very fatalistic and dramatic on this album, but that's why I love her!! I notice something new every time I listen. Also, y'all would love The Long Pond Sessions for sure.

Sophia Sanchez

Fantastic reaction, guys. Thank you.

Sydney Hammond

yes, that's exactly it!

Gabriela B

pllEEAAAsssee we’ve been on our kNEEees begging for a long pond studio session reaction

Kristen

i don't think we necessarily have to say it's about travis or matty, i think it could be a general thing like blank space "they'll tell you i'm insane", and knowing at least that is enough to understand the song's meaning :)

Gabriela B

Yes! The Bolter is my current favorite. I can’t stop listening to it.!

Teresa Jorgensen

I feel like she always does more experiments stuff on First half of her albums now, Midnights kinda like this way too. Then on the second half is more like style that most ppl would appreciate. Since it’s kinda experimental, so of course it’s hit or miss for listeners.

levine Jiang

I always like first half and the end parts of her albums more… it’s kinda weird patten..

levine Jiang

I agree w that as well

Sarah

Thank you Aimee is about Kim kardashian and that whole situation before the rep album. Cassandra I take it as she’s talking about the Kardashian family especially the lines bloods thick but nothing but a payroll and the Christian chorus line reminded me of Kanye’s ridiculous church.

Ella Clark

I think the line 'like you are a poet trapped inside the body of a finance guy' is so sad, 'cause imagine being someone that has a gift and can write beautiful poems and that you end up being just a finance guy and cannot share your feelings and thoughts to the world because you had to do what seemed right.

María Monroy

i haven’t watched the video yet but the comments are begging for long pond studio session and i agree 🙏 you won’t regret it

Kristen

I agree and especially love the self titled 2023 album.

Teresa Jorgensen

Weighing in as a 59 year old woman who is a fan of so high school. This summer, my high school sweetheart and I will have been married for 37 years. We’ve raised three kiddos who are 26, 28 and 31. I can still remember what that high school love felt like -giddy, fun, wild. She’s not writing it as a highschooler- She’s telling us to remember what it felt like to be in high school and in love! -that’s what I’m feeling (pretty sure we all believe this is about Travis). And I’m here for it.

Teresa Jorgensen

would love to see you guys react to TTPD set on the eras tour !!!!

Jayln Effertz

THIS IS ME BEGGING FOR NOAH KAHAN ALBUM REACTION

Jayln Effertz

Yes!

Teresa Jorgensen

Thank you for this! I really found it hard to watch their distain for so high school when it’s such a happy, giddy lovely expression of her feelings.

Teresa Jorgensen

Please do watch long pond studio sessions please

Daisy

Taylor even wrote when she released the Anthology, that she wrote so much poetry in the last two years that she just wanted to put it all out. And I think with the vault tracks and everything she did the last few years she learned that she doesn‘t have to stick to some rule of how long an album can be. I just love how she can be silly, like with a few of the first songs, and also have the serious tone with the last part of the album. I would also really like some more live performance reactions of you guys, like the Long Pond Studio sessions. I enjoy your reactions a lot 😊

Claudia

ummmmmm.....you HAVE to do Long Pond studio sessions. ESSENTIAL VIEWING. You will not regret it.

Aloha Record Sargent

p.s. Regarding your comments at the end: she has not yet been awarded for her songwriting at the Grammy's. She has been nominated for Song of the Year more than anyone else in history (7 times), but has NEVER won. Baffling.

Aloha Record Sargent

Oh man, Nirvana MTV unplugged was MY ALBUM in high school. Holy moly. I'm sure my dad got so sick of hearing me play this.

Aloha Record Sargent

Really enjoyed this, and hope you will revisit the first half at some point. Especially songs like Whose Afraid of Little Old Me and Guilty As Sin. There are so many layers and references and metaphors, and I'm sure all of us are happy to provide context!

Aloha Record Sargent

You guys gotta listen to “sling” by Clairo, one of my absolute favourite albums

Jood

not sure how you guys feel about country music but if you guys like storytelling you should check out zach bryans lyrics!!! they are so beautiful, raw and poetic, i think you would love it... he leans more into the folk/americana sound so maybe you guys would dig it!!! does anyone else here enjoy his music???

Ella

Agree with others, excellent summary, with my only addition being that Chloe et al. is about her decade-long situation with Matty. And it hints, quite brilliantly, that Maroon is also about him.

Aloha Record Sargent

AGREE!!

Aloha Record Sargent

Yeah, this is exactly what it’s about. I know it doesn’t matter at all, but I do believe this is about Matty, who has described himself as Peter Pan, and Taylor did that whole crazy “this song is about you” thing during Cardigan at Eras.

Aloha Record Sargent

Yes! And also, it's a huge, brilliant metaphor, and I think a lot of people take it literally.

Aloha Record Sargent

Agree. This touched me deeply from the first listen (both TTPD and the Anthology), because of her raw honesty and vulnerability. This is not designed to be an album of hit singles, instead, it's a personal message to us. And that's why the vocals are so close, so present, so clear.

Aloha Record Sargent

Taylor was high school age at the time! She was likely home schooled already by then though lol on tour for fearless etc 😂

Sarah

I love it knowing (being obsessed w) her and Travis’s relationship, but I def understand the critique of the lyrics and themes. But I will forever adore this song, it makes me smile so much

Sarah

The live TTPD set is so good! And the surprise songs of TTPD tracks have been stellar

Sarah

They liked a lot of it, but it was mixed. It was a very fair reaction from an unbiased ear. A little frustrating to those of us who know all the lore, but there’s lots of channels for that perspective 😊

Sarah

At the end I wanted to say “now w to the black dog” cause it is so good and once they were in the mode of the album I think they’d get it 😂

Sarah

Agreed!

Sarah

100% agree. I don’t listen to the studio version but LPSS has been my Apple replay #1 album since 2020 lol

Sarah

I agree that it’s a track to let us know she is okay, all the asylum and self harm talk, she needed us to see her glee.

Sarah

Her love songs have always had anxiety underpinnings. Not so high school! Nor the alchemy!

Sarah

Also, not to sound ungrateful, but I would really love Beyoncé - Lemonade! And now Cowboy Carter too 🤠

Sarah

It’s so good! And exactly what Mike described 😊 also my favorite vinyl in my collection

Sarah

The first half is brilliant. I prefer it, myself.

Aloha Record Sargent

Yeah, I said the same thing in a comment -- it's actually a brilliant metaphor and theme!! Regardless, I kind of hate the idea that 34 year old women can't have fun with lyricism, especially on such a dark/sad album overall. A lighter moment is appreciated.

Aloha Record Sargent

I thought it was Joe.

Aloha Record Sargent

I think it's about both. Notice the lyric changes between the first verse and second verse.

Aloha Record Sargent

Nirvana MTV unplugged is probably my second favorite vinyl btw

Sarah

I had the same thought! But maybe just with tracks 23-31. Not really with tracks 17-22.

Aloha Record Sargent

Omg now you’re talking about the long pond studio sessions!! Yes please go back and revisit folklore through that!! It’s my all time favorite vinyl in my collection. It is so good!

Sarah

Not just Travis, but also specifically Matty Healy, who left her after the "fans" relentless criticism. Basically, her fame has ruined every recent relationship. If you think about it, it's also behind a lot of the problems with Joe, too. Her fame is the albatross.

Aloha Record Sargent

I personally love So High School, esp when added into the more sad songs of this album. I truly don’t think she’s had songs like this before - she’s had songs wishing she had this but not songs where she actually had it, which I think makes this come full circle. I think it’s a special song for any millennial who knows this exact sound of music and either felt this way or, like taylor, had a bad high school experience and always wished they had this as a teenager instead of feeling left on your own. For swifties I think all we want is a personal connection with her music and this is it in my opinion

Amber Scott

Taylor has gotten so much criticism for this album, and particularly the anthology. Critics say she needed an editor for the “excess tracks” on part 2 and felt like she just dropped extra tracks to stay on the charts longer. It truly pisses me off because if any underground artist or indie artist released the anthology as a one off album it would be so praised. But because it’s Taylor it’s belittled. It is some of the best song writing and acoustic sounds, Pulitzer worthy writing.

Sarah

So High School is not literally about high school love. The whole thing is a metaphor about how she feels when she is with Travis. And she is referencing a bunch of high school things to capture that feeling. Same with the instrumentation. It's genius-level writing and metaphors! When she performs a portion of the song on the Eras Tour, her and her dancers mimic all the things both she and Travis did at Chiefs games. His touchdown dances, her reactions in the stands. Think about it -- she's watching him play football! It's VERY high school, in the best way.

Aloha Record Sargent

Also in her explanation, she said she went through a “manic episode”, which you can tell by the first one. It’s sorta chaotic and raw and has some of her most honest lyrics. The second part is sort of like she’s passed her manic episode and is now reflecting about everything she’s been through thus far. It really is her best work so far in my opinion.

Isabel

I loved loved loved all the discussion!! That’s how we know you really liked the album and I’m so happy that y’all just GOT IT. For the fans that consider it her best album I think the majority of us think that cause it’s her most honest, raw, authentic, personal project. I think that’s why it had such mixed reviews too cause you either GET IT or you don’t which is fine. It’s not for everyone, it was mostly for her own personal journey.

Isabel

Also I have never thought about that! I love that. That’s why I love so many people giving their pov bc I took it as a ghost of someone but that also makes so much sense!

Laura Guerrero

Jack is amazing but Aaron Dessner is all over the anthology and he deserves his flowers!!! Please do the “folklore: long pond studio sessions” film reaction here on Patreon, it’s on Disney +! Aaron and Jack are in it!

Sarah

I did think you would enjoy this second half more based on your folklore and evermore reactions compared to other albums. The appreciation for acoustics and lyricism is what I love about your reactions because that’s my interest as well. And that’s why I also love hip hop and rap reactions too, it’s so much about lyrics and flow, which I think Taylor is so skilled at. Taylor is also a huge hip hop fan and has even covered Eminem (live in Detroit too lol). So glad to see you enjoyed the anthology! For me, imgonnagetyouback is the only *occasional* skip on the anthology. I totally get what you’re critiquing about so high school, but I’m so obsessed with it being a love song with NO ANXIETY (Taylor has never!!) and it’s about Travis…I love that track so much just for the lore of it, and how much Travis loves it LOL.

Sarah

Thank you for doing this!

T

Robin is Aaron Dessner’s son’s name. But I also know a lot of fans with children on the autism spectrum really related to this song. 🤍🤍🤍

Sarah

Also the prophecy is in my top 10 all time Taylor songs, so beautiful, tragic. Taylor does pain so well.

Lindsay Krieb

I think your fans of aaron dessner 😂😄. Please do long pond!

Lindsay Krieb

Yesss!!! The most perfect reaction to the prophecy lol that’s such a PERFECT song and I’m so happy y’all just GOT IT and went off on it lol my most favorite part of your reaction so far 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Isabel

Laughing at the So High School slander. It’s not for 15yos. I think she included it to let fans know she’s ok now and she’s so in love, she feels giddy like a teenager. This album, especially the first half, is so sad and sometimes heavy, we all needed to know she made it through. She wrote The Prophecy begging for a change and the universe delivered.

Teresa Salas

"Bloods thick but nothing like a payroll"

LanaJulie33

In response to the convo on artists being perceived as “greedy” and Taylor specifically…The fans are dying for the anthology physical copies…it’s not even available!!! A few more months and I’m bootlegging a vinyl! I can’t handle an essentially full acoustic album without a vinyl. Can’t do it.

Sarah

So High School is supposed to sound like that. Travis's teammates have talked about their relationship being like high school cuz she's like the popular girl and he's the star football player. It's supposed to be silly cuz she's so happy in this relaxing, playful relationship. Her last relationship she was constantly hiding and didn't go out and do stuff with her bf cuz he didn't want the attention. She's so damn happy and I'm here for it.

Cassandra Schultz

To me Peter is a call back to Cardigan (from folklore) “Peter losing wendy” and the song is from Wendy’s perspective. In the novels, Peter actually comes back and hangs with Wendy’s daughter and then even later, Wendy’s granddaughter, but never wants to leave neverland for good and grow up. And even in Hook, Peter had married Wendy’s granddaughter but Wendy states in the film she thought he would break down the door at her wedding and put an end to it. “You said you were gonna grow up, then you were gonna come find me” “lost to the lost boys chapter of your life”. I don’t even care who it’s about, it’s so perfect for Wendy.

Sarah

Wildest dreams and snow on the beach 😊

Mary M

Very much agree with Dad on so high school. It’s sooooo cringey 😬😖 as a 30 year old woman, I don’t want you to touch me while your bros play grand theft auto. And don’t even get me started on “you know how to ball, I know Aristotle”. I deleted the song from my streaming library cause I hate it so much lol

Mary M

Dad shaking his head .8 seconds into Peter was my EXACT reaction at 3AM on release day 😂

Sarah

Omg thank you for this! I loved it! I love this song but it takes time for me to dissect all the layers so thank you for the detail and help with my explanation for others 😊

Laura Guerrero

oh also i love the idea that the hologram could maybe be a video she saw on social media of him living his life without her and her being unable to do anything (and not even sure that she wants to do anything)

Ella

love this summary!!! but disagree with cososom: for me its a sing about the idea of a love that you cultivated for so long but when you actually experienced it, it wasnt as good as the idea that she had made up in her head! so she keeps always wondering what it would be like if that idea had worked out (and in a sense both of them cultivated this dream but it was actually just a nightmare after a decade) examples: "will i always wonder"; "you turned me into an idea of sorts"; "you said thing i cant unabsorb" also the line about how they just watched each other live their lives for so long (him with the random people and her saying that she was changing characters, lovers, etc.) but at the end they are always wondering about the "what if" that could have happened and she even says that she would be broken if she knew that he was wondering too, bc it would mean both of them were longing for each other but when she says "If you want to break my cold, cold heart Just say, 'I loved you the way that you were'" for me it seem like the image that he loved was an idea of the old her and she just wasnt that person anymore so it would never work out bc the whole thing was just an idea, an idealization, a dream that they will just always wonder about it. so basically it was a very wrong time situation but they will never know what would it be if it was the right time bc they arent those people anymore. at the end, even if they move on and have happy lives by themselves, they will always wonder bc they cant ever get the answer... long rant but i really love the layers on this one sorry!!

Ella

Snow on the Beach

Teresa Salas

i actually prefer most of the long pond versions to the original folklore songs! You’ll love it

G

Cassandra is from Greek mythology - she had the gift of prophecy BUT the curse of no one ever believing her. I relate this to Taylor’s experience with her former record label who refused to sell her her masters unless she signed with them again (1 new album for every prior album purchase!! At full value!) and since Taylor has come out with her re recordings, several artists have left that label and cut ties.

Sarah

Mike’s spoken word poetry had me snapping my fingers!! Loved your discussion of the prophesy. The song is so superior, it’s underrated!

Sarah

Aaron Dessner produced a lot of the anthology! He played a ton of the instruments on the tracks on this half 😊 we LOVE a Taylor - Jack - Aaron album! (folklore and evermore were this trio as well)

Sarah

Nice shirt Dad! 🇮🇪

Laura Carrick

Cassandra = gaslighting victim anthem

G

She played it at the eras tour today in Madrid too!!! On piano. I died lol.

Sarah

“I look in peoples windows” is my absolute FAVORITE track on this album, possibly my favorite Taylor song ever (it’s too new to compare it to others yet 😅)

Sarah

aIMee is Kim Kardashian most of us believe, who started bullying Taylor when she was 17 years old when Kim was 28. And North West has posted TikTok’s singing Taylor’s songs 😂

Sarah

She is definitely a songwriter first! The anthology is a quill pen album with the exception of the gel pen so high school 😊 and this is why I want the anthology on vinyl with a lyric book so badly, I need to READ it!!

Sarah

Why didn’t he look it up 😭

Daisy

Thats my criticism too. We not asking a lyrics analysis but maybe like 1 min genius go through after a song would be helpful. Heck I could create a google docs for them describing each song in one line which would 100% make them like it a little more.

Daisy

Yes i agree

Daisy

I know you guys don’t focus on lyrics but I would love if you guys can read on genius or a reddit thread for a min after a song because you once you get the song you 100% like it more. Sometimes confused lyrics leaves you not liking a song. For example- thank you aimee would make so much more sense if you knew it is about Kim and Peter is about Peter Pan.

Daisy

I know right!!

Daisy

Omg guys most of thisnis produces by Aaron dessner. Give this man some credit please

Daisy

Peter Pan 😭

Clarissa Thomas

I loved this video! The Prophecy is also my favorite song on this album. And I think you never reacted to the folklore and evermore bonus tracks. Watching this video I wonder what your opinion would be to these songs, because they are also my favorites! :)

Adriana Sousa

A Taylor song was just used in Bridgerton! I can’t remember which one offhand though lol

Sarah

Me screaming at my laptop: "IT'S KIM KARDASHIAN!!!!" thinking they can hear me HAHA

KO

Agree 100%

ACR

I see that but the Christian chorus line and family paycheck references all point to Kanye’s Sunday services at that time and a greedy family.

ACR

ITS ALOT but enjoy 😇 I know you said you don’t want to know context or don’t care about it but here’s the context 🙂 - The Black Dog: you all basically got it; about a relationship and how he’s with someone else now - imgonnagetyouback: you also got it; basically can’t decide if I want you or want to kill you - The Albatross: so an albatross is a bird yes but it is also used metaphorically as something that is a burden so in the song, she is referring to herself as the albatross. She is first talking how people are saying that she is the albatross and she is burden to everyone she can come in contact with but then turns it over to her being the hero and embracing this “albatross” - Chole or Sam or Sophia or Marcus: I took it as a relationship of two people; one who was trying to keep things together and the other one of cheating and running away. One person is all in until the other person is basically a “hologram” of themself. - How Did It End?: you all basically got it but you all didn’t point out at the end where she is still in her head even like “how did it even end?” like she doesn’t even know herself. - So High School: another Travis song btw 🥰 - I Hate It Here: you all got it and I love that! (Also my track run starting here) - thanK you aIMee: so this song is actually about KIM kardashian and the whole mess that happened with Kayne and how she tried to ruin Taylor’s life and also North (Kim’s daughter) is a fan of Taylor - I Look In People’s Windows: I loved that you all got this one bc it’s one of my favs!!! - The Prophecy: I KNEW IT I KNEW YOU ALL WOULD LOVE THE PROPHECY - Cassandra: Cassandra in Greek mythology was a Trojan priestess dedicated to the god Apollo and fated by him to utter true prophecies but never to be believed. So she was cursed for no one to ever believe any of her predictions about the town or people. So Taylor is making this reference to Scooter Braun bc earlier this year or late last year, a lot of his clients left him or tried getting out of contracts (to unknown reason) but Taylor always voiced her concerns about him and no one believed her or would ridicule her. “Bloods thick but nothing like a payroll” is referring to that - Peter: this is referencing her comparing the guy she was waiting for to Peter Pan. He never grew up and never came back for her.(fav track run ends here) - The Bolter: you all got it! - Robin: it’s about Aaron’s son (Aaron is the other producer on folklore, evermore, Midnights and MAJORITY OF THE ANTHOLOGY) - The Manuscript: most swifties took this as her reflection on her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal as she did the re-recording of Red TV/ All Too Well 10 minute version and the short film. Thinking that maybe the relationship wasn’t right (bc of age difference)

Laura Guerrero

You guysss So High School is supposed to be playful and sound youthful! That is the whole point of it lol.

KO

I'm so glad you liked it! Peter is a reference to Peter Pan, and Kim is Kim Kardashian. I think this second half is some of her best work (especially how did it end, the bolter, the prophecy, i look in peoples windows), but I do still very much like the first album too.

Anya Smith

SO EXCITED!! I think you’ll like this one a lot! 🤞🤞

Sarah

Peter is a huuuuge Peter Pan reference. He never grew up, the lost boys reference. It is incredible songwriting because it applies to real life but it is from grown up Wendy's perspective from Peter Pan

Alyssa Malecha

This is such a great comment! 100000% agree with all you said especially how it wouldn't mean much for a really young person saying their relationship makes them feel "so high school"

Alyssa Malecha

Glad you guys liked this one :) it’s definitely more up my alley than the first part of the album too. PLEASE do the long pond studio sessions. I just knowww you guys would love it - stripped down version of folklore with Taylor giving insight into each track.

Olivia S

I love this album so much all of it but the prophecy is something else! Só high shool is not about being young, is about feeling young when you re in love in to me that conceptual is real and fantastic. The prophecy is so clever that we could just do a class about that lyrics. Taylor is saying that she got curse like Eva and she begs so much to chance the prophecy that she ends up going to cards (tarot) to covent and witches all to chance that and cant get what she wants. Its a mixture of pagan and Christian references that are just amazing and works to show her desperate.

Ethienne Vicentini Almeida

YES! Everything you just said! (Hi fellow name twin! Spelled the correct way, obvi)

Kristin Lohr

So High School is pretty low on my list of the new songs, but I do get what she was going for & why. As a 33 year old woman who married her high school sweetheart, I get the joy of feeling giddy when reminiscing on the early years of our relationship, while also getting to experience the ever deepening, mature, long lasting love that we continue to build each day. But underneath all that, & what keeps things fresh & helps us endure, is a sense of playfulness. We continue to flirt with & desire to get to know each other. We try not to take ourselves too seriously & stay young at heart. The first dance at our wedding was to Frank Sinatra's You Make Me Feel So Young. It's the same sentiment, & IMO only makes sense when expressed by someone older. A young person writing about feeling so high school wouldn't mean much, since they wouldn't be far removed from that experience, if not still living it. Especially when you considered Taylor didn't have a traditional high school experience, & was forced to mature a lot quicker in certain ways, I think it's extra special for her to still be able to experience these sorts of feelings for somone. Again, I do agree it's not the strongest track on this album, but I don't think it's inappropriate for someone her age to make references to feelings of young love.

Mary Halliwell

huh? never seen that theory before 🤣

Kristin

right?! i completely agree. it was purposely young sounding bc he makes her feel young and giddy and in love. and she didn’t get much of that in high school bc she didn’t finish out HS she had to to be homeschooled on the road. i’m the same age and it sounded like a late 90s/early 2000s romcom song which is SO nostalgic & makes sense be her and travis are our age. that’s what we grew up with.

Kristin

i hope you do both long pond studio sessions and making of a song for reputation, i feel like you guys would like to see the process!

Margot Lacroix

Loved this!! Aaron Dessner produced most of the second half of the album - including every song along that run from The Prophecy to the end that you guys loved so much! I'm so glad you went back to it so soon, because the first half left a bad taste and I knew (and commented after the first video with so many others) that it really picks up to your tastes. I think that second half of the album is amongst her very best work. I think if you went back to the first part of the second half you might even appreciate those songs a bit more know - I get the sentiment you were going for but in the context of how the album ends, I think you'd appreciate The Black Dog, The Albatross, Chloe Sam Sophie or Marcus more. If you swapped out So High School and maybe imgonnagetyouback with loml and So Long, London from the first half of the album I think we'd be sitting here saying it's the best thing she has ever done. I don't know why she needs to bury her best work but for some reason she does. You'll only know how good she is when you go looking for it - that's why people hear things like Shake It Off and Love Story and think 'wtf' when people say what a brilliant songwriter she is. Those people who say she is overrated have never heard her at her best and probably don't want to. Her best known songs are not her best songs.

Ciara Panton

🤣🤣omg the first half is not that bad …….

levine Jiang

the peter pan metaphor went over your heads, i’m crying 😭

Margot Lacroix

i have to comment because i will not allow jack to take credit for aaron's masterpieces, aaron produced most of this side of the album minus two songs i believe!!

Kayla

Would love to see you do the folklore long pond sessions! So glad you two enjoyed the second half ☺️

Bella B

Being a huge Taylor fan, I do get the hype of understanding where the songs come from and having added information about where she was, personally, while writing the album. That said, I think that, musically, this album (first and second halves) has a lot of unreached potential. It has many catchy songs and I am looking forward to appreciating it live in the Eras Tour this Summer, but it's not getting into my top five albums of hers.

Stefanie

Your love for The Prophecy (my #1 song) ALMOST negates the hate for So High School (my #2 song). As a fellow 34 year old, there is nothing better than feeling giddy like high school so that song was completely nostalgic and intentionally "shallow" and I won't stand for the slander! Love the review as always even if you're completely wrong ;)

Kristin Lohr

I have watched so many reactions and the way that everyone always refers to so high school as “young” it makes me twitch a little lol. the entire point of the song is that the type of love she’s feeling makes her feel like she’s with her high school sweetheart. so yes it feels juvenile but that’s what she was aiming for

Kailey Sundstrom

guys, she IS the poet trapped inside the body of a finance guy

Margot Lacroix

Long pond studio! Yes!!!

Madison Bowling

Long Pond Sessions, hell ya! You guys would appreciate that so much. Getting a glimpse into the workings of Taylor’s mind is wild.

Brooke Noelle

Mike said : Taylor is keeping it anonymous 😭😭😭 I was rolling on my bed laughing 🤣 so funny

levine Jiang

I can’t believe you guys don’t know who K-I-M is 😂😂 was laughing so hard on the other side of screen. “ someone from high school “ hahaha

levine Jiang

you need to go through the albatross lyrics again, bc saying it doesnt tell a story is a huge crime!! such a beautiful metaphor for how she is perceived about the public and how people around her end up getting dragged in a media circus just for loving her but some people just chose to stand by her anyway even with all the warnings and problems her public life can bring (deeply relates to peace from folklore too!!!)

Ella

Loved the reaction! Thought it was cute ya'll didn't get that thank you Aimee was about Kim Kardashian, that so high school was about Travis and how he makes her feel giddy and those high school emotions, and that Peter was referencing Peter Pan. I love ya'lls interpretations 🫶🏻. How did it end is definitely a favorite. It's so sad to me. Overall I'm obsessed with TTPD and I love that ya'll really enjoyed the first 6 tracks and most of the second half 🤍

Caroline Farley

I interpret it as she gave the warnings about Scooter and the artists he represented all didn't believe her and defended him, but now those artists are leaving him and they're all quiet about it now.

Caroline Farley

I have totally felt this way too! I think The Anthology is so much more reflective on her whole life/career, not only recent events, and was written before TTPD.

Brooke Noelle

Cassandra is a reference to Kanye and the Kardashians

ACR

Side note: I laughed when you mentioned Bohm during I hate it here because sooo true! when Alec Bohm said he hated it in Philly I thought Philly was going to tear him apart because Philly fans are scary 😂😂. However he has become a fan favorite in Philly so that’s pretty cool 😂

Selena Martinez

Hmmmm… I wonder who Kim could be 😂😂😂

Michelle

This is all conjecture but I believe most of the anthology was written first and was intended to be part three of the folklore/evermore albums. Her long term relationship started deteriorating and she began writing about processing her previous relationships (yearning for Matty included). She released Midnights to cope with her relationship ending. She still had this set of songs but the she went through the Matty whirlwind which REALLY fucked her up since they’d known each other for a decade. This shows in the first part of TTPD while the anthology reflects the time during the pandemic. This could be all bullshit but it makes sense in my head.

Josh

Yes please watch long pong studio sessions!! It is so good and interesting to get that extra insight from her and both producers. Yall would love it. It’s on Disney+ (like the Eras tour)

Taylor Forsythe

Or if not about Travis, any man who gets involved with her. Not to put to fine a point on it, but y’all have said “good luck Travis” a number of times.

Teresa Jorgensen

I love listening to y’all, but I’ve come to the conclusion that unless you have an idea of what’s behind the songs they’re so much less enjoyable/meaningful. I know you want to go into them with no context, but it really is sometimes a little painful to hear your critique when it’s so uninformed (that sounds like such a harsh word, but I couldn’t think of a better one). For example, I wonder if you would listen to The Albatross differently if you were listening to it like it’s the warnings Travis Kelce received regarding getting involved with Taylor. That’s what I’ve heard the song is about. It changes everything when you listen to it that way.

Teresa Jorgensen

I knew you guys would like this back half of the album 💕

Selena Martinez

Queen Charlotte and Bridgerton 🙌🏾

Shanice Nowak

Yes would love for you to watch the long pond studio sessions!! She also speaks about almost every single song with jack and Aaron so it's super interesting to listen to how she thinks about her songwriting! Also another recommendation, I think you would really enjoy Phoebe Bridgers!! She is featured on Taylor's song nothing new from red. She has some absolutely gorgeous songwriting so I think you would like her🫶🏻🫶🏻

Julia Kahrs

Robin is “supposedly” about Aaron Dessner’s son who is named Robin. It makes sense, lyrically.

Courtney McAlexander

I’m sure anything she will write when or if she has kids will make me sob uncontrollably. Lol

Kayla

Robin made me sob, I think it’s about a child (possibly Aaron’s) and trying to keep their innocence.

Kayla

If yall don’t work thru it, Peter is referencing Peter Pan/wendy as a metaphor. She also plays with this in Cardigan (Peter losing Wendy). The metaphor is sprinkled thru out the song (lost boys, sit by the window, lost fearless leader, said you were gonna grow up, let the lamp burn, etc.).

Courtney McAlexander

Every time I listen to Robin it gets me SO excited to think about the art she will put out if she eventually has children of her own. 🥹

Meghan Hameister

cant believe you missed the peter pan metaphor!!!

Ella

Still waiting for a TT of North calling Kim “Aimee” 😆

Brooke Noelle

I look in peoples windows just scratches a part of my brain no other song does, I loove it

Kayla

Right! I wanted to scream!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Kayla

not the finneas mention lmao iykyk

Ella

Knew yall would love the prophecy!

Courtney McAlexander

Yes!! The folklore feel! That’s more of the aaron dessner half than jack. I love them!

Madison Bowling

Also, funny that Dad didn’t like the other fan favorite “So High School”. Your Taydar might be slipping. lol

Josh

thank god you love the prophecy i was worried but that song is incredible. our opinions vary and i accept that but for that song i needed y’all to love it 🤣

Kristin

Cassandra is a priestess in Greek mythology that was gifted to see the future. She was killed because she would try to warn people of terrible things to come but was cursed to never be believed. I think you can interpret in the way Taylor was treated in different situations but also there’s just truth to the message as well for how the public reacts to drama. “When it’s burn the bitch they’re shrieking, when the truth comes out it’s quiet”.

Taylor Forsythe

To me Cassandra is about both the thing with Kim and Kanye but also her masters, her most public feuds are with people who later get revealed to be horrible. The call she references is both the call with Kanye, but also more recently her finding out about the things he's been saying in the last couple years and stuff, also scooter Braun getting dropped by many artists. It's her saying that she knew something was fishy with them all along and she got so much blame in those feuds even though a lot of evidence now points to her basically being innocent. Cassandra was a Trojan princess and priestess who was given the gift of prophecy but was later cursed by him to never be believed when she told said prophesies. So Taylor is saying "I told you they sucked all along"

Julia Kahrs

The bridge in “How Did It End?” is her best lyricism to date. Say it once again with feeling How the death rattle breathing Silenced as the soul was leaving The deflation of our dreaming Leaving me bereft and reeling My beloved ghost and me Sitting in a tree D-Y-I-N-G Just insane.

Josh

The songs are a mixed bag of Jack and Aaron Dessner for production!

Taylor Forsythe

so high school doesnt sounds like it fits the album bc she wrote it about travis after most of the album was finished!! its a play on how he makes her feel young again after losing years of her life making herself feel smaller for those other guys, it also directly plays with some quotes he said in the past about her (marry kiss or kill) and some of their famous moments (open the car door, him going to see her concert and him going after her publicly). its not really meant to fit the overall aesthetic bc this is about a different time in her life and i think she just wanted to add this one as a nod to him and to make sure everyone knows she is not in the bad state she was when she wrote this whole thing anymore

Ella

Me too! Eminem’s Kim 🤣

Meghan Hameister

Killing me you didn’t realize it was Kim Kardashian!!! 🤣

Jamie Speese

BRIDGERTON MENTIONED!!!

noelle

Only a fraction of the way through this video but your dad confessing his love for Bridgerton was so unexpected and brought me so much joy 💗☺️

Anna M

The poem “The Rime of The Ancient Mariner” will help you understand the Albatross, there’s a message/story but it’s not as straightforward

Taylor Forsythe

Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

Courtney McAlexander

Ayye! Noelle and Brooke Noelle - first 2 comments 👯‍♂️🤍
