Reputation is the aftermath of one of the most difficult times in Taylor’s career. Kim Kardashian and her then husband Kanye edited a phone call between the two that made it seem as if Taylor approved lyrics to be used in Kanye’s song ‘Famous’. “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, I made that bitch famous” Taylor thanked Kanye for permission but warned him against using misogynistic lyrics. The latter did not make the cut in the video. Kanye also did not play her the full lyrics. Taylor told the truth to the media, they released the edited phone call, and the whole world sided with Kanye and called Taylor a snake and a liar. She disappeared from the public eye for 2 years after that. Reputation is kind of an embracing of everything she was called and a new rebirth regarding her reputation. In 2020, 3 years after the release of Reputation the full unedited phone call was released, showing that Taylor had been telling the truth the entire time. However, the damage was already done.

I was there for night 2 of the LA shows. My surprise songs were You Are In Love and Our Song (I still can’t believe I got to see her perform that live). I am a Taylor fan and I really think both her and Beyonce exist in their own right as the best artists in the game right now. I watched the Renaissance film and it's just as impressive as this. I encourage y'all to dive into her music and performances. She is also a musical genius and her work ethic is insane.
