Magician Of The Midnight Stage (Alpha 0.2)

Unlike the majority of fairies within the Midnight Grove that aim to prank and trick others, Magicians of the Midnight Stage want nothing more than to wield their inherent magics to entertain other fairies and adventurers they may encounter.

Displaying much more subdued features than other fairies, Magicians of the Midnight Grove can be easily mistaken for a Half-Fairy, and unless in disguise, can be noted by their formal suits, bowties, and top hats.

Unlike most Fairies that remain in their home of the Midnight Grove, a Magician of the Midnight Stage aims to put smiles on the faces of others by bringing the magic and wonder of the Midnight Grove all across the Realm of Mortals in the form of stage magic shows. These shows are most frequently held within highly populated cities and are spectacular and whimsical experiences.

The only reason one should fear or beware a Magician of the Midnight Stage is if they were to heckle, boo, or berate their performance. In such a scenario, these fairies will use their magic to compel the inciting creature to come up onto their stage as a "volunteer," using the magic stored within their hat to transform them into a form they find more befitting of an assistant.

Significantly more moral than many other types of fairies, these Magicians believe that if others are in harms way, their spirits will be lowered and they will be much more difficult to entertain through their magic. For this reason, it's common of Magicians of the Midnight Stage to disguise themselves as mortals, functioning as vigilantes working to protect innocents during the times between their performances. An adventuring party may inadvertently work alongside one of these fairies when traveling between towns without ever realizing their true identity.

Abilities:

Fairy Casting: The Magician Of The Midnight Stage knows 8 spells from the Esper and Naturalist spell lists. Two of these spells may have an MP cost of 35 or less, three of these spells may have an MP cost 15 or less while each other spells it knows must have an MP cost of 10 or less.

Illusory Form: As a one-handed action, the Magician Of The Midnight Stage can disguise itself with illusory magic. This disguise lasts indefinitely unless the Magician Of The Midnight Stage uses a one-handed action to end it or if the Magician Of The Midnight Stage is defeated. While active, the Magician Of The Midnight Stage maintains its general appearance, but appears as a member of a race of its choice rather than as a fairy.

Additional Effects: The Magician Of The Midnight Stage targets one creature, using hypnotic magics to encourage them to approach the Magician. The target must roll 1d4. On a roll of 1, the target is hypnotized by the Magician Of The Midnight Stage for the next minute. A creature that has heckled, booed, or insulted the Magician since the end of its last turn is automatically hypnotized this way. While hypnotized this way, the affected creature must use as much of its movement as possible, using its actions to carry out any actions suggested by the Magician Of The Midnight Stage that don't directly but the affected creature into harm's way.

Additional Effects: The Magician Of The Midnight Stage targets an adjacent creature currently hypnotized by the effects of For My Next Trick, I'll Need A Volunteer. Removing the Hat of Wonders from its head, the Magician Of The Midnight Stage swiftly shrinks the target, placing them within its hat. While within this hat, the target is considered bound but occupies the same space as the Magician Of The Midnight Stage. At the beginning of the Magician Of The Midnight Stage's next turn, the creature is removed from the hat, returning to its original size with a transformations dictated by the roll of 1d6. 

1. The target's gender becomes female.

2-3. The target gains one stage of bimbofication.

4. The target's race becomes Leporine Beastfolk.

5. 1d4 +1 of the target's class levels are replaced with Bunny.

6. Each of the target's class levels are replaced with Bunny and they gain one stage of bimbofication.

This transformation may be undone through a Ritual of Purification. Additionally, if the Magician Of The Midnight Stage believes the target has learned their lesson, they may spend a one-handed action to reverse the effects of this transformation.

Comments

only thing that would make this better is giving Hat Trick the ability to spend extra mana at the start of each turn to keep the target in the hat, and when you get out you roll a d6 for each turn spent in the hat
