Saturday Ramble #11

Yeah, I'm bringing rambles back.

so, a lot has happened since last ramble (that was about three months ago, holy shit). So it is time to update you all with everything that has happened, and everything that is planned for this 2021. Also I'll try my best to do these every weekend if possible.

Pixeas and Henry

As some of you may know, the series are back, now I'm posting these every week publicly in my website nekeithfox.com (done with the help of Some Aussie Dog) and every week too on patreon as an early access if you're tier 5$ or above.

Now I want to ramble a little bit about how I like this project so much, as some of you may know, I am striving to be a story teller, that's my ultimate goal. Now the thing is that it is hard to be noticed with a story with Pixeas and Henry and I think there are several reasons for that:

1. it is black and white -  I've noticed comics gain more traction when they are full colors (unless it's manga), but I've already bet too deep into pixeas and henry, and it being colorless is important in the story.

2. its format is full pages - I tried to make the comic into the webtoons format, but it's just not the same and it takes way too much time from me for editing for webtoons, full page comics work when they are published in a comic publisher like hiveworks, I will try to find a publisher to gain more traction for this story, but for the mean time I can only publish on twitter.

Now the reason I'm rambling about this specifically is to let you know that I am commited to finish this story, but I can't help but to not to feel that encouraged about it, since there is not enough effort - feedback loop, but it doesn't matter, I'm a man of my word.

Full time job and school

for those in my discord (i'll put a link in the bottom) may already know, that I've been contracted by a AAA company full time, woo!
This doesn't mean that I'll stop doing art, art is what I enjoy doing and I would never stop doing it. Now the thing is that the schedules and art posting might be a little different from how it was before, I might just not be able to do commissions (for now) and I'll be focusing mainly in my job, art on free times.

I'm very happy about this news and I'll be probably be able to move out my house sooner or later to be a financially independent person, also a lot of this was thanks to you all :3

About school, I might still do it but in a very slow pace and it will no longer be my priority, which makes me extremely happy (I don't like school that much tbh).

COVID and this week in particular

many things happened this week that made it probably one of the worst weeks I've had, to not to elaborate to much in detail: I got covid, something very near to domestic violence happened in my house and overall it's been a shit ride.

fortunately most of this stuff won't stop my pace on art and work in general and I'll keep striving regardless of how awful everything was.

Prints!

One of my years resolution is to start selling monthly prints, accompanied to probably a new patreon tier to get em in the mail :3

I can't show you what's been cooking yet, but you'll see.

Upon the Umbra

This is a new comic that I've been working on, and it's on preproduction phase, I can't show you much but in a month or so, this will be my main focus art wise and I'll be able to show concept art about it.
