Mid Week Ramble

Hiatus?

I do not like the word hiatus, because I feel like it means I'm not doing nothing, and I don't feel like I'm doing nothing (???) if that makes sense.

I haven't published stuff recently like Illustrations, Sketches, nor Comics and I want to talk about EXACTLY why is that.

BURNOUT

Recently I've been feeling overwhelmed about how many responsibilities I have, and how my free time is just too little in comparison of what I want to spend that time on. I've been reading a little about this phenomenon called "burnout" which is oftenly confused with depression. I am not depressed, I'm  overwhelmed.

So I am kind of... if you want to call it like that...? ... burn out.

now I know you guys don't give money to support my rambles, I know you're here for the art, so of course I'm spending my efforts to get off this burn out mode and get to work.

I made myself a schedule which I'll follow religiously and I feel confident enough to show that to you guys.

Now to interpret this, the Blue stuff is School stuff, as you can see it isn't that much, I really scheduled way less subjects this semester to have more free time.

the Pink stuff is what I need to do no matter what, (like eating, having dinner, taking showers, sleeping etc.)

Yellow stuff is the time I strictly use for doing commissions, 7 to 10 PM CST I usually try to stream whn doing that.

The black stuff is "Tarea" which translates in english as "Homework" this is very self explanatory to be honest.

The orange stuff says "Linux" I use this time to learn linux since I was offered a job at intel, but I need to learn this stuff first along with some disk validation theory and computer science stuff, This doesn't mean I won't be able to do art when I start working at Intel, I'll still reschedule my life to have most of my time free to work in art. Since that's what I love to do.

 Green stuff says "DnD" this is the time I'll be spending playing dnd along with doing dnd art for patreons.

Red stuff says training, now the people who know me for a while will know that I play Super Smash Bros. so yes I do spend some of my time training that game since its my second strongest income currently.

Now the idea with this schedule is that all of the empty spots is what I'll use for art (not strictly for commissions) comics, illustrations and more.  it is blank because I sometimes need to do stuff in these hours like going to the dermatologist or do laundry, etc. But I will mostly do art during these hours.

What happened to Pixeas and Henry?

This is a question that has haunted me for the past month, I feel like I left the story in a very important point but I am in a position in which I can't continue it consistently because of my schedule, I know I've said this a lot but I'll say it again because it's very true and I want you guys to remember that: Pixeas and Henry is not over, in fact it's very far from over. It's just paused and I have a plan on continuing it after I finish doing commissions, BUT... now this is a big BUT which I'll explain next.

Commissions and economical situation

I usually don't like to open commissions too often because this kind of stuff happens, my comic gets paused, I get ovewhelmed, a lot of art blocks, etc. It's all my fault tho, I guess I don't have that much experience dealing with commissions.

Don't get me wrong, I still do commissions with a passion, I really love doing art in general, it's just I get overwhelmed to easily. 

Now the thing is that I am working in comic (that's not Pixeas and Henry) my first ever digital comic, this is a piece that I think will change the game completely, not only for me as an artist, but for how you guys perceive me as a story teller.

(This is a very early phase of the comic, and that's all I can show you guys for now. This comic is intended to be published as a printed version so there won't be too much of this in Patreon.)

the problem is that the production of this comic is waaaaayy too slow with the current tools I possess, (hp laptop and a intuos drawing pad). So i'm saving to buy a better computer and a better drawing pad (one with a screen), now that's something you've guys have already heard from me and I think that now you guys know where this is going.

I will open commissions again (as soon as I finish the ones in my queue), to have enough money to buy my tools. This means that there will not be Pixeas and Henry for a bit longer than expected.

I was expecting to have some money that my dad owes me (about 3k usd) by this time, but the economical situation is the way it is and I can't pressure him to pay me since he's my dad and the world circunstances are the way they are.

So if you are here for Pixeas and Henry, I'm sorry. Just remember it's not over, I just need a little more time.
