The Tour That Didn't Happen

It's still hard to believe we couldn't play these shows!!! We are really hoping that after the dust settle's from this pandemic that we will get to play alongside these great bands and at these amazing venues! Missing the road so bad especially with Halloween approaching. Other than "The Birthday Massacre" shows that got cancelled what are some bands you missed during this whole thing?

Terry and I have been posting a few things to get a feel for the Patreon system and we've got a nice interview coming up to go along with the official start date of the Patreon site on October 31st!

The Tour That Didn't Happen

Comments

I was SO hyped for this tour even though it was only in the US :( And I had tickets to see Evanescence & Within Temptation together for the first time in my goth life lmaoo so I was super sad that it got cancelled :(( ooh and Avril Lavigne !!

Only time I’ve ever seen Nightwish live was back in like 2008 in London, Ontario. Was a weird show at some kind of cowboy themed venue? (I’m from Windsor/Detroit so I don’t remember the name of the place.) Anyway I totally would have travelled to Toronto to see you both in the same show.

It would have been a great breakthrough for you guys. A lot of people haven't even heard your names, and yet you can please both metal heads and goth heads at the same time. It seems you're big in the LGBTQ culture though. But that's almost niche.

Omg that would have been amazing !

The 3TEETH show at The Opera House would've been a good one but the biggest heartbreakers for me were the rescheduled Deftones/Gojira/Poppy tour and the five cancelled nights of NIN - at Massey Hall??? :( :( :(

I did miss. Megadeth, You guys twice, In This moment with Raven Black, rage against the machine. Tool and Mötley Crüe

Gotta few comedians, tribute bands. And was meant to be seeing Queen and Within Temptation and Evanescence

I was supposed to be seeing Adam Ant at a festival back in May. Was a huge shame it got cancelled but hey ho. Looking forward to seeing you all back in the UK when it’s safe x

Deftones, Gojira, and Rammstein. 😕

I had to miss seeing Garbage, which was a lifelong dream of mine. 😕

Okay I know this is insane, but any chance of a Carly Rae Jepsen collaboration as fellow Canadians?

Sean Lane

I think y'all were supposed to come here, but not with Nightwish. I think that was canceled before tickets even went on sale. I have tickets for the postponed Alanis Morrisette/Garbage concert. I sure hope it's safe enough to happen on the new date next July.

This too shall pass and hopefully we will get to see you wonderful people on the road again very soon. Also looking forward to meeting other TBM fans as well! 🐰💜

Keep your hopes up Bob.... we are rescheduling and you will have a chance! We just don't know what venues are still operating when all of thiss is done!

This was the only tour that I cared so much about, 3 shows for me. I've never been so upset 😭😭😭 But it's ok, you HAD to cancel! I planned to fly from Detroit to Nashville to finally meet many of the Imaginary Monster's that I've known for years, and to meet my dear best friend! I was staying so close to the venue, and had planned to invite all of them and TBM for an after party! I wish ... #goals! But 🌪️ damaged The Basement East, then covid-19. But life will return to normal and I will see you and maybe my plans still can happen!

I hope tbm will tour with Julien-K again in the US.

I hope this gets re-done for you guys in the future. The tour would have been amazing, but the exposure for you guys would have been well deserved too.

Beyond the Black and Amaranthe at Budapest for me - it's postponed until May. Wish you guys would come to Budapest again, I was there at your shows in 2014 and 2017, both times stuck at the city until next morning, they were great experiences and awesome concerts!

I had a weekend trip planned around an Anti-Flag show. I was so ready for it. Not only did it get cancelled, but I also didn’t want to go by the time it was announced because the cases were on the rise. So double whammy of fear and sadness. ;-;

I had tickets to see you guys in the detroit area this year (can't remember for where, I had lots of tickets for this summer). I've seen you guys before, but I'm bummed about all the shows that couldn't happen. I think the one I'm disappointed the most about is Amaranthe. I was so stoked that they were making it to the US much less my home town! At least I got to see sumo cyco just before it all went to hell.

TBM and Nightwish is one of those dream double bills; so, yeah, the COVID thing has really screwed the pooch for everyone. As for other stuff, I'm big into the Japanese music scene, and there were some shows in that vein that were shelved. Even the Olympics was affected in that regard - Babymetal and Perfume were probably going to perform, but the Japanese Olympic Committee has said that the now 2021 Olympics (assuming they still happen then) shows and crowd-centric type stuff have been cancelled.

Tickets for you guys, we had tickets for Green Day and Pearl Jam too. My wife had tickets to see Taylor Swift. None of which were cheap. I run a rehearsal studio and we've been shut since March due to no one being able to gig. Its tough. I miss my job. Saving grace is that if the UK tour can go ahead next Summer, we're taking a week off and coming to several of the shows.

Movies, comics, my favorites on TV... plus I wanted to see live bands at festivals this last summer. :(

I had over 10 shows canceled and 3 postponed. It was supposed to be a fun year 😩

Aww stop I died when I saw that tour announcement... Epic.... Fingers crossed it will still happen for ya. It wasn't coming to Ireland so I wasn't able to go anyway but would have been bad ass!

VIP meet and greet tickets... Gone. 😭😭😭 I also had tickets to Lunatic Luau and was set to see Alice in Chains yet again. What a shitty year. 😣

Amaranthe was playing within staggering-distance from me in des moines this year... Been waiting years to see them 😔

Was all set to see you guys on that tour, and am still very sad that it didn’t happen. As far as what else I missed, I had tickets to the Blitzkid reunion tour, and I also had quite a few shows booked with both bands that I play in.

To be honest these bands should be honoured to play with The Birthday Massacre and Nightwish should be the supporting band!

I was hoping to attend the Amphi Festival this year but that definitely didn't happen, between the pandemic and it affecting funds on top of that. Hopefully next year will be better!

Omg.....you guys with Nightwish?!? Just throw in Epica and I could die a happy woman! I'd have thought I had already died and went to heaven! I was supposed to go see 'In This Moment" with my BFF for my 40th birthday back in April. Never happened. I can't wait till the day we can happily and safely attend concerts again.

I was hoping to see you all twice this year which would have made it my 4th and 5th time seeing and meeting you guys! I also had tickets to see Alice Cooper which would have been my 5th time seeing him live. And also I had tickets for the Dropkick Murphys. Let’s hope 2021 will be different!

I was hoping to see you live again here in Brazil. We have seen an article last year, if I remember it correctly, that the same group that brought you here was trying to bring you again, and I was really hyped to see you guys again, but everything got cancelled due to the pandemic :( And another band that I miss a lot is Within Temptation. I really want to see them live too and it would be cool to see you guys together in a tour

i was hoping you guys would come down to san antonio again, i wouldve made the trip up there. last show i went to was tool up in austin, that was a great concert despite them putting chairs on the floor

They shut everything down here in Saint Louis the day before I was going to go see Dragonforce w/ Unleash the Archers. Much sadness.

Micah

Seconding that "year of missed shows". In addition to Dark Side of the Con, I had tix for Dead Can Dance and Rage Against the Machine in Toronto, Ministry/Front Line Assembly/KMFDM, They Might Be Giants' Flood tour, and Madness. Aaaaargh.

I also missed MXMS

Ugh my heart broke for this tour 😭

Seeing you guys with Nightwish was probably going to be my favorite concert ever! Really hoping you can play the rescheduled date at the Palladium!

Deftones, Gojira and Poppy were touring together....My Chemical Romance....and Alanis Morrisette. Those hit the hardest :(

Nightwish and Birthday Massacre would have been awesome!! I hope they can get it all sorted and this can happen.

The shows I missed were y'all's and Glass Animals. I've seen you guys a few times in San Antonio so I hope y'all can come back soon ☺

The two tours I had tickets for this year were TBM and Amaranthe/Battle Beast. Already have tickets for the reschedule of the TBM/Nightwish show in MA next year. Can't freaking wait to see you guys.

Mihailis

Maryland Deathfest and Quebec Deathfest, Unleash The Archers...all cancelled. Was looking forward to everything.

Honestly the show in Toronto to see you guys playing with Nightwish was THEE show I had been looking forward to all year. I still remember like yesterday bouncing up and down in the kitchen telling my mom that two of my favorite bands of all time were going to be playing in one show. Another band which I didn't even know was going to be playing in Toronto was Nine Inch Nails, I found out after the fact that they would have been playing when they were selling special edition t-shirts for the cancelled tour as a way to commemorate 2020.

Missed you guys. Was hoping you came back to Jersey. The other was In This Moment. They play around Halloween too. The album Mother dropped earlier this past year. Same day infact.

I had tickets to the Palladium show on the 12th. 2020 was going to be the best year for concerts in a long time. RIP.

Robert Richmond

Even though I wasn't going to be there, I was really excited for you all to play with Nightwish. They are one of my favorites, and I was happy that some of their fans would be exposed to The Birthday Massacre; because really everyone should!

I also missed the Warning, Benthic Realm and Earth Drive, all of whom had shows cancelled!

Michael Gehrman

Besides y’all- had tickets for Cruel World fest and all the artists there, plus shows for Choir Boy, Black Marble, and Xymox 😢😢😢

Ray Allen

It's terrible! I missed TBM, Lacuna Coil, The Gathering, The 69 Eyes, Lacrimas Profundere and Tristania shows. Some of them were postponed, but others cancelled... I wonder if live shows and Meet & Greets are part of the past 😔😔😔

TBM is the only concert I had tickets for. Last show I was able to go to was in March, to see a band called Transviolet.

That’s awesome! I’m really looking forward to this!

Michael Gehrman
