Starting 2019 off right!
Added 2019-01-04 21:18:50 +0000 UTCFirst off, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
Now, for serious business. So, as you know, there's an adv chapter of Savage Divinity out on Patreon (link here if you didn't know). I wanted to have a nice polished chapter for you all, but i spent three days and just finished one. Holiday Brain is still in full effect, and my attention span has withered away to nothing.
It's currently January 4th. Optimistically, if i can get my brain in gear and stick to my regular schedule, that means I can get 4 more chapters out by the 13th, and resume posting to RRL on January 15th. 5 advance chapters for Patreon, that's the dream. Cough, goal, I mean. I'll also settle for 3, but I digress.
Anywho, my initial thought was to spread them out at $1 tiers. As in, $1 a month means you're always 1 ch ahead of release, $2 a month means you're 2chs ahead, etc etc. But when I thought about making so many gddamned posts and keeping up with it every time I post, I kinda died a little inside. So here's what's probably going to happen. I'm just gonna put them in the $1 and $5 tier. If I only have 3 chs, then I'll MAKE a $3 tier, but otherwise, i'm gonna stick with 1 & 5 cuz I'm lazy. I'm hoping to find time for more extra chs to reward the $10 tier, but I'll be honest: That's more of a pipe dream than actual possibility.
Yes, this means many of you in the $1 will now have a week and a half wait before the next chapter, but the alternative was to start at the $5 tier and work my way down, which now that I think about it might have been a better way to go about it but... er... fuck.
Sorry, but this is how it is. I obviously did not think it through before posting. I'm a writer, not a businessman goddammit.
Err, so yea. With luck, there will be another ch on Sunday.
As a final note, please keep a lid on the existence of adv chapters until I announce them on my return to RRL. I'd like to have them ready before saying anything about it.
Also, please don't spoil things for other readers. I may have to make separate channels to the tiers to avoid this, but we shall see. All this is just my thoughts on the matter, so if you have a suggestion, then feel free to share it in the comments or on discord.
Thanks again for all your support, and here's to 2019: may it be better than 2018. A low bar to set, I know, but god do I need this...

2019-01-07 00:15:36 +0000 UTCmm, personally, I wish I could do 5 chapters a week, so cutting down to 2 would be too demoralizing.

2019-01-06 02:34:30 +0000 UTCTentative is best. Promise nothing so they'll be surprised when you actually do something. that's how I approach life :P
2019-01-06 02:29:08 +0000 UTCHey Ho, Ruffo. Can we tell em plebs WHEN you're comin back? They kinda feel restless right now without a concrete date to get some hype up. Unless you wanna keep it tentative in case you needs more time for editing or writing (or rather, procrastinatin).

2019-01-06 01:12:05 +0000 UTCI agree with Terry here. Hell that's the whole reason I donate to you. In the hope that the little bit of extra money will give you the resources needed to edit the first book and get it on Kindle.

2019-01-05 12:06:41 +0000 UTCHey Ruff. If you want to put more focus on Patreon you could slow down your RRL release rate to build a larger buffer, ie only do 2 chapters a week on RRL and every week you do this you end up with Patreon being a further chapter ahead.

2019-01-05 00:00:16 +0000 UTCHey ya mate, personally I say don't worry too much about the advance chapters, the progress of Savage Divinity is so amazing so far, don't spoil it. Personally, I would say that any time you are spending on Advanced Chapter Writing should instead be spent on planning how to release this behemoth of a novel onto the kindle.
