Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement)

The gilded hand of a saint from ages past, still brimming with holy power. This prosthesis can replace one’s arm. While used as a prosthesis, it can function like a normal hand and you can’t be disarmed of it against your will. This item has a pool of Holy Dice (d6s) equal to 3 times your proficiency bonus, and it regains all expended holy dice when you finish a long rest.

As a bonus action, you can have the hand of this item emit a bladed edge or return to its hand form. While in its blade form, this item counts as a shortsword with which you are proficient. While in each form, it gains that form’s property:

Palm of Purification (Hand Form). As an action, you can touch a creature with this item and expend a number of Holy Dice up to your proficiency bonus and roll them. The creature regains a number of Hit Points equal to the number rolled. 

Blade of Retribution (Blade Form). When you hit a creature with this weapon, you can expend a number of Holy Dice up to your proficiency bonus and roll them. The target takes additional Radiant damage equal to the number rolled. 

As the priest laid the holy relic upon the bleeding member of his flock, a soothing light enveloped them. Wounds stitched together as their pained expression relaxed, when a sudden slam caused the man’s head to swing toward the door of the church. A group of armed thugs trudged across the sanctuary, flames crackling behind them as the town burned. 

“These people aren’t worth your life, priest. Get a move on and we’ll let you live.” The man’s eyes flicked to the holy man’s arm, which was replaced by a gilded reliquary, “So long as you give us that bit of gold.”

The priest felt the fire of retribution coursing through his veins. The glow returned to the relic, this time forming a shimmering blade of divine light. In a soft voice, the priest proclaimed, “I consider myself a healer, but…”
