Drawing upon the innumerable aspects of the natural world, druidic circles are widely varied across the lands. Yet none among them hold as much of a direct connection to the abundant trees and vegetation as those of the Circle of Flora. With hair like leaves and limbs like branches, these druids regard themselves as more plant than humanoid, ceding their flesh to bark and root as a show of devotion. Shifting into a twisting mass of vines when called to combat, they bring this most primal force of nature against their enemies.
2nd level Circle of Flora feature
Your connection with the natural world allows you to access an Arboreal Form, where gnarled branches and tough bark covers your body. As a Bonus Action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape feature to take on your Arboreal Form. You become a medium Plant creature in this form, while retaining your normal character statistics and senses. Your arboreal form’s AC is equal to 13 + your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1) and has a walking speed and climbing speed of 30 feet. In addition, when you take this form, you gain temporary hit points equal to three times your Druid level. While in your arboreal form, you are vulnerable to fire damage and have resistance against nomagical bludgeoning and piercing damage. In addition, you gain the following features while in your Arboreal form:
Vines. Your branching vines count as simple melee weapons with which you are proficient. You can use your Wisdom modifier, instead of Strength, for the attack and damage rolls with your vines. These attacks deal 1d8 slashing damage on a hit.
Thorn Whip. You cast the Thorn Whip cantrip.
You can remain in this form for a number of hours equal to half your druid level, rounded down. You can revert to your normal form earlier by using a bonus action on your turn. You automatically revert if you fall unconscious, drop to 0 hit points, or die.
2nd level Circle of Flora feature
When you reach a Druid level specified in the Circle of the Moon Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
In addition, you can cast the spells from this feature while you’re in your Arboreal Form.
2nd Level Druid: Goodberry, Ensnaring Strike
3rd Level Druid: Barkskin, Spike Growth
5th Level Druid: Plant Growth, Mass Healing Word
7th Level Druid: Conjure Woodland Beings, Grasping Vine
9th Level Druid: Commune with Nature, Conjure Elemental (Earth only)
By 6th level, your connection with the flora of the natural world has deepened. At the end of a long rest, you can choose one of the following boons to benefit from:
Flower. Your melee attacks deal an additional 1d6 poison damage on a hit. While in your Arboreal Form, they deal 2d6 poison damage instead.
Fruit. When you heal a creature with a spell or magical ability, you can add your Wisdom modifier to the amount healed. While in your Arboreal Form, add twice your Wisdom modifier instead.
Leaf. Your speed is increased by 5 feet. While in your Arboreal Form, your speed is increased by 10 feet instead.
Stem. You gain a +1 bonus to your AC. While in your Arboreal Form, you gain a +2 bonus to your AC instead.
Root. When you fail a constitution saving throw to maintain concentration on a Druid spell, you can use your reaction to add half your Wisdom modifier to the roll (rounded down). While in your Arboreal Form, add your Wisdom modifier instead.
Additionally, while in your Arboreal form you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the attack action on your turn. Moreover, you can cast one of your Druid cantrips in place of one of those attacks.
10th level Circle of Flora feature
Plant and flesh weave into one as your mastery of druidic magic grows. You gain the following benefits:
Greenspeaker. You can communicate with plants as though you share a common language.
Photosynthesis. If you are exposed to direct sunlight for 1 hour, you do not require food for the following 24 hours.
Tranquility. When you take a long rest, you appear inert, but are not rendered unconscious, and you can see and hear as normal. After resting in this way for 4 hours, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.
14th level Circle of Flora feature
Your ability to draw upon floral magic reaches its apex. You no longer age naturally.
While in your Arboreal Form, you gain the following benefits:
You can choose to increase your size by one category when you first transform.
You gain resistance to poison damage, and are immune to being paralyzed and poisoned. If you are paralyzed or poisoned when you enter your Arboreal Form, the effect is suspended for the duration of your transformation.
You can choose one additional Natural Growth boon to benefit from for the duration of your transformation.
