Updates

I got an email from Patreon today saying that some of my content was in violation of their terms of service. As of right now, this page is in limbo, pending a response from their support team.

I was given the option to remove the violating content from my page, which I think I've done, but they did not actually specify which stories violated their ToS. I don't know what standard they're using, and since I can't risk losing this account, I've had to paint with a broad brush and remove anything that might even come close to being a problem. All in all, even applying definitions as broadly as possible to ensure I didn't miss anything, it's less than ten stories that got removed, (though some were multi chapter stories).

To summarize where the conflict exists: The issue hinges on 'glorification of sexual violence'. I was writing under the assumption that the content I wrote didn't apply. To use a comparison, Die Hard doesn't 'glorify' terrorism, but rather lets the audience engage in the surrogate thrill of fighting back against terrorists - In the same way, a story involving hypnosis wouldn't, to my understanding, 'glorify' controlling someone else's mind, but rather lets readers engage in the surrogate thrill of experiencing a loss of power and control.

Clearly, Patreon doesn't use this same interpretation. Now that I know that, I'm working to comply with their rules, but I hope it's clear that I wasn't trying to sneakily get around their rules and just hope that I flew under the radar. I've always tried to obey their rules, and I'll continue to do so for as long as I'm on their platform.

I informed Patreon that I removed any offending content I could find, and am waiting to hear back. I don't expect that this account will be terminated, since I've done everything I can to comply and had no desire to breach their terms of service to begin with, but it's possible that I've misinterpreted something again. If that happens, I'll be posting further updates on my Twitter. https://twitter.com/PChangeling

Please, don't argue with Patreon about this. I am at this point reliant on my writing as a source of income, and there's just not a better avenue for actually getting my work to people who want to read it, and being rewarded by fans who want to support me. If Patreon wants to set rules on their website, that's their prerogative. I can't change how they interpret their rules, or how their moderators interpret my stories.

In order to ensure that I comply with their rules, I won't be able to post or link any stories that could potentially trip up their rules. I'll be writing the same amount, it just won't all be posted here.  Also, my patreon exclusive stories will have to be either completely nonsexual, or involve overtly consensual kink play. (To use a few examples from my own body of work, 'Gamer Pants' or 'CyberBaby' are both completely nonsexual, and the Diapered Demoness trilogy of stories is about two characters engaging in kinky behaviors more or less just because they felt like it.) Any content which was previously 'Patreon exclusive' but which I now know violates their ToS will be posted elsewhere (I won't link where here, but if you found my Patreon page, you've almost certainly seen at least one of my other social media pages), as well as any other content which I hadn't yet posted elsewhere - commissions that were only posted to Patreon so far, mainly.

This does mean that 'Jacqueline' will become a public story that can't be posted to Patreon, and I'll need to come up with something else to do for my second exclusive story every month. Content which can't be posted to Patreon won't be early access, won't be tied to any subscription benefits, and generally won't be directly Patreon related at all - Except that I'm the person who wrote it, and Patreon helps me buy groceries.

If anyone wants to unsubscribe due to these changes, I understand, and I can't stop you. I know a lot of you subscribed to get the exclusive monthly stories, and if your favorite types of stories can't be posted to Patreon anymore, I understand why that would be frustrating. (This isn't a judgement, to be clear: I do the exclusive stories on purpose to provide perks to you as a thank you for your support. I want you to enjoy the exclusive stories I've written.) I'm very stressed out about this, and anxious that my account is going to be axed despite my attempts to comply with Patreon's rules.

Please understand that if you're supporting me, it's more than just a transaction. The benefits on Patreon might get a little smaller (since there won't be early access for everything), but the person you're supporting is still the same.

I'm immensely grateful for all of you, and I hope you'll bear with me as we get this worked out.

Thank you. <3

I sincerely hope it all works out for you! I personally don’t mind the loss of exclusivity - but yeah - it’s not the same for everyone I guess... it’s a bit annoying to have to look in multiple places for content - but I’ve been doing that anyways tbh; GL PC

It stinks that Patreon has decided to take issue with your content. I however, don't - and still want to continue supporting you!! In my eyes, it doesn't really matter as much what platform you use to distribute your content, so much that you still keep creating it! As long as you keep writing it, I'll keep coming back. I am sure there are workarounds to this!

I'm so sorry you have to do all of this - if in the future it becomes untenable to remain here, it may be better to have your patrons move to a different service before you possibly get fully removed, as opposed to afterwards Either way, I'll be staying, but it may be wise to find your alternatives while you still have the reach of the current patreon page
