Introducing: Yomi 2, Fighting Card Game

For the last four and a half years, I've been working on a sequel to Yomi. Yomi was "a fighting game in card form" that I made before making the actual fighting game Fantasy Strike. Now, Yomi 2 is a re-imagining of that fighting-card-game concept.

I've also been working on a high production value, rules enforced digital version of Yomi 2. It's very expensive to develop, and I've really gone far beyond my ability to fund it already. So please join at the gold tier to play it and help us pay for making this awesome game. Check out the video teaser of what it looks like in this post.

At the silver patron tier, you can get all the print-and-play files as well as access to a non-rules-enforced virtual tabletop version in Screentop. These are updated pretty often based on feedback and playtesting from patrons. There's a lot of patrons to discuss the game with in our patrons-only chat on Discord.

Yomi 2 has familiar things from the old game, especially the combo system. But now it looks cleaner, has new art, new graphic design, and a lot of gameplay enhancements. There's a new "exchange" system that lets you swap certain cards from your hand with those in your discard pile to help you build the hand you want. Super moves now require building up super meter to use. You can also augment (as in, slightly customize) your character with a gem, which then gives you some new abilities and moves.

To play the new digital version of Yomi 2, here are the steps.

1. Be a gold or higher patron.

2. Go here and click the "Unlock with Patreon" button to get a steam key: https://gameserver.fantasystrike.com/y2patreon.php 

3. In your Steam client, go to Games -> Activate a Product on Steam…” then enter the key you got in step 2.

4. Now "Yomi 2 Playtest" is a new game in your Steam library. Launch that and you will see a lock screen. Click on the Patreon button there to launch your web browser to a page asking you to [Allow] or [Deny] access. Click [Allow] there and the app is unlocked.
