Digital version of Yomi 2 has new "known cards" feature

We've added a new feature to the digital version of Yomi 2 that shows you the "known cards" at at any given time. This lets you see the cards in the opponent's hand that you should know they have, if you were paying attention. It also lets you see the cards in your own hand that the opponent knows you have.

This is especially useful to see which card they exchanged for (a key feature of the game) if you happened to miss it in the moment. Later on, we'll have asynchronous play. It will b...

Digital version of Yomi 2 with more Career Mode

We've updated Yomi 2's digital version to have a bit more in career mode. Now, if you qualify for the tournament at Lou's Card Shop, you can actually enter it. Tournaments are single elimination, best 2 out of 3.

Also, the Event Hall now has four tournaments available too. Each tournament at the Event Hall has a different "wacky" ruleset.

Normally, winning the tournament at Lou's Card Shop would unlock a new (fifth) wacky rules tournament at the Event Hall, but that's not implemen...

--The first time you launch the game, there is now a menu of three things. You can play the tutorial, you can read 5 pages of quick rules, or you can skip to the main menu. The screen tells you that you can still play the tutorial later and still see the quick rules later too. You can also resume any part of the tutorial at any time (don't have to replay all of it to get to section 5, for example).

Introducing: Yomi 2, Fighting Card Game

For the last four and a half years, I've been working on a sequel to Yomi. Yomi was "a fighting game in card form" that I made before making the actual fighting game Fantasy Strike. Now, Yomi 2 is a re-imagining of that fighting-card-game concept.

I've also been working on a high production value, rules enforced digital version of Yomi 2. It's very expensive to develop, and I've really gone far...

PlayStation 2016 Report

We attended the PlayStation Experience 2016 trade show where we exhibited Fantasy Strike. We explained to everyone that it's a fighting game that captures the strategy and decision-making of other fighting games, but that is designed from the ground up to be very easy to control.

The response to the game was overwhelmingly positive. This was a relief because we really did not know if people would generally like Fantasy Strike or not. I’m not sure how many people played the game, but it was h...

Ideas for idle poses

Hey everyone, here's your chance to give us some creative ideas. In a fighting game, if you don't touch anything, your character plays their "idle" animation. It's usually some kind of "ready to fight" pose. It can be completely different for each character, to help express their personal style and all.

From a production standpoint, the idle is very different than everything else. If we animate a kick attack or something, then later we don't like it, we can just make a new kick attack! No ...
