It's hilarious listening to the bit about the jump button (also in Ep 12 on Easy Special Moves) as someone who has never played fighting games: in platformers (and, I feel like, any other genre), it's generally considered a bad idea to have up stick be jump, even if the platformer doesn't use up for anything else (ropes, ladders, opening doors, etc.).
