Hey there,
Over the years of working on Skyline, we've been asked one question countless times: "How can I support the project?". We're happy to announce that we now have a way for Skyline users to support us with our official Patreon page.
As a part of supporting Skyline, you'll get access to Skyline Edge. An exclusive build with any major updates two weeks before the public builds, as well as a Discord role giving you access to exclusive channels.
If you want to support us at a higher tier, you'll get access to development polls where you can directly influence the direction of the emulator by voting on what is most important to you.
At the highest tier, you'll not only get everything from the previous tiers but also get your name inside all official Skyline builds to represent your significant contribution towards the development of Skyline.
Figuring out monetization has been a long journey for us, as it's a delicate balance of our interests while being fair to those who can't afford it. After talking to yuzu's team about their success with Early Access, we determined it's the right path for Skyline.
You're probably wondering what's going to be in the first-ever Skyline Edge release at this point; we're proud to introduce "gpu-new". A rewrite of significant parts of GPU code taking into account everything we've learnt from our initial attempt.
It increases performance across the board; titles such as Super Mario Odyssey now hit full speed in even the most intensive places and work on Adreno proprietary drivers, not just Turnip, providing a sizable performance increase.

Sand Kingdom on a Red Magic 7
2D Mario in Sand Kingdom on a Red Magic 7
Cascade Kingdom on a Red Magic 7
Hollow Knight (Unlocked FPS) on a Red Magic 7 (Max Clocks)
It also further widens compatibility, with games like Pokémon Sword and Shield, Skyrim, Crash Bandicoot, Rise: Race The Future and Skul going in-game for the first time. Though most of these titles aren't entirely playable yet due to major stuttering, graphical issues or crashes for now.

Skul on a Red Magic 7
That's not all; freezes in the Pokemon Let's Go games have been fixed, and Mali GPUs are now fully supported, running most games that can run on Adreno (performance may vary).
Pokémon Sword (indoors) running on a Pixel 6 (Google Tensor)
Pokémon Sword (outdoors) running on a Pixel 6
We're working on fixing all the issues that prevent these titles from being playable with our current priority to make Skyline more stable (and less crashy) before starting work on "texman", which should fix the vast majority of graphical issues that plague most games right now.
As a final note, we want to thank everyone who's been a part of the Skyline community over the years. You've all been crucial to what Skyline is today and continue to help evolve it into what it will be in the future. We're excited to see where Skyline goes in the future and will try our hardest to deliver the best product we possibly can.
