MonkeyDM's Big Patreon Changes

Hello Everyone ! Important announcement today.

It took a while for me to do this, but I think I have to now, I will be closing the 1$ tier on my Patreon. I didn't want to do it for the longest time, because a few of the people that have supported me from day one are on that tier, but I simply cannot justify having it open. Let me explain.

The way Patreon functions is that it takes a percent of each supporters payment (currently 8% of each pledges for me), and then stores the rest with an additional processing fee, which is 5% +0.10$ for the 1$ tier. So in reality when someone supports me at the level they are giving me 77 cents.

But when I want to take that money out, being that I'm in Europe, transactions are handled by Paypal, and those transactions require an additional fee. I then have to pay taxes on these transactions. By this point I'm sure you get the picture.

I talked with other content creators on the platform, which all have encouraged me to close that tier, they basically told me that keeping it open for only 19 people (currently on that tier), means that in general people are more attracted by what the higher tiers have to offer. In addition it will give me more motivation to push out content since I'll get more bang for my bucks. This change will be applied on the 30th of November.

The 5$ Tier will see a bit of change for new-coming patrons, but nothing will change for you if you're supporting me on that tier at the moment. Basically I will hide that tier, meaning new-comers can't see it, and the new 5$ tier will  include less benefits, no access to the old compendiums, only the current one, as well as an adventure per month that will only be for higher tiers. Dragon's Hoard will also be pushed to higher tiers. This change will be applied in 24h.

Once again if you're currently on the 5$ tier, nothing will change for you, as a thank you for being there early to support me, you'll always get access to everything :)
For people who are on the fence about joining the 5$ tier, now is the moment if you want to reap the most benefits.
