Pumpkin did make several hundred dollars at Ellie's first con. Presumably she has some business contacts otherwise and probably has some degree of income from that. I could also see her advertising for kids costumes through Ginger, some degree of art products to Anise's customers (probably delivered through Anise, too), and with the Aperature Science kit she may be doing some side jobs related to Tarra too. So I expect Pumpkin is reasonably flush with cash for a fifteen year old. Possibly more so than Quinn. However we also have the statement that this is before Danny places the cameras, so Ellie has been paying her rent lately.

That One Guy

Well, we do have Pumpkin's explanation of the bad movie club to Kat, and that she recruited Ashliii & Bubbles to the group. So Pumpkin is bringing some unknown older woman to a bad movie this time without arranging to meet them after telling them that Kat was full of shit and nothing was going on between them. Also I believe Herb had mentioned that Rosemary said Pumpkin wasn't seeming to spend much time with Ashliii & Bubbles even before she barged in on Quinn. So I'd say we're likely going on 4-6 weeks of Pumpkin being scarce from their stance. That's a valid point for a friend to wonder what the hell is going on and be concerned.

I just had a thought. Is Pumpkin paying for all of this? I looked up my local Cine, and they have the following pricing schedule: Adult(Matinee $8.00, Evening $10.25), Senior $7.50, Child $6.75. Add $3.00 for 3D movies. And they've gotten popcorn, so that's got to be another $10. And if they get drinks, that's got to be another $5 - 6 each. Especially if they want the free refills. Sooo, 6.75 + 8 + 10 + 12. $36.75 at my movie place for two people, popcorn and two large drinks.

It's hard to have any empathy for Ashliii and Bubbles here--mostly because we have no idea on what (if anything) their friendship with Pumpkin is based on. Do they have common interests? Are they chums from back in grade school? Have they all been exiled from the same cliques? We've heard that they are friends, but we haven't seen any friendship in action. That makes it hard to tell if what Pumpkin is doing with Quinn is violating any unwritten rules.

...storyline aside, I'd just like to point out the sheer amount of detail and coloring work that must have went into that one-panel movie theater alone.

So is theater at a mall because I have not seen any theater around here that has tables or chairs in them (outside the bar lounge areas a but the theater staff are kinda dicks about underage kids sitting there).

I'm a bit confuzzled. Which is the one line? If a speech bubble is a complete sentence, and therefore a line, then is it the first one?

I think it's a combination of missing their friend and being really concerned for Pumpkin. They have to know her last 'social experiment' that didn't involve them ended rather poorly, and here she seems to be doing the same damn thing again. I think they are well intentioned, but in this case, a little ignorant of the situation. The question remains: does Pumpkin have teh feels for Quinn or is she simply allowing herself to explore who she really is? When I went to college I escaped the group of people who knew the persona I had presented to them, even though it wasn't who I felt I really was. I didn't feel I could change though, because I might lose the few people I had in my life. In college, I allowed a lot more of 'me' to come out, and shockingly still made friends, etc. Pumpkin may have found someone outside her family or her circle of friends that she can express her 'private persona' to as it transitions to her 'public persona'. Essentially, she's growing.

Nah, I don't necessarily think it's jealousy. Maybe they're still upset that Pumpkin apparently kinda dumped them without so much as a goodbye, but I don't think it goes farther than that. Still, maybe it'll be a chance for Quinn to return that favor- "OH HI person-who-my-friend-really-didn't-want-to-talk-to!"
